I truly wonder why Emily didn't call off the wedding immediately after Ross said, " I take thee Rachel". That would've saved him from getting divorced again.
Pure shock. I've watched this show many times and always knew that point was when the marriage was screwed beyond repair, and I still don't know how I would have reacted in her situation.
Well maybe she tried Ross’s place first and since he didn’t pick up there and since he’s at Monica’s most of the time, it only makes sense to call Monica’s place.
@@tnvol2011 if she called Ross' place and found out that Rachel was there then it would be completely understandable that she be upset but she called Monica's place which is also Rachel's. People can really be unreasonable when hurting and frustrated I guess.
@@Anonymous-zq4yy yeah especially when that person screws up BIG TIME and is given two separate chances and still screws up each time. So whether she called Ross at his place or Monica’s, it wouldn’t have mattered as along as Rachel wasn’t around.
I mean, Emily. . .you called Monica's apartment. You know that Rachel is Monica's roommate. Is it REALLY that big a shock that she happens to be in her own apartment?
@@pacm9744 No haha how could she know that Rachel would even be home? That's where the blame, once again, falls on Ross because Ross knew better and should have acted accordingly. If I were to say the wrong name at my wedding and my future wife forgives me TWICE!, then I pretty much owe her for life haha
@@sidhant95640 Of course not. Im sure Emily would be ok with Ross going to Monica's, as long as Rachel wasn't there and as long as she could trust Ross to do the right thing to save his marriage and relationship with Emily. Rachel lost her chance with Ross when Emily said yes to Ross's proposal and when Rachel refused to go to the wedding.
A more realistic and fair condition from Emily would be Ross can't be ALONE with Rachel. That would be easy to do and is very understandable. But its ridiculous to either 1. Say Ross can't go to Monica's because Rachel is there or 2. Say Rachel can't be in her own apartment
The point Emily was making was more about Ross cutting Rachel out of his life completely. Doesnt matter where she lives or what she does. And alotta ppl side with ross in the show but how many ppl would want their partners ex to still be in their life especially after finding out their partner still has a thing for them lmao
@@sharkisland5931 You're missing the point. Ross wasn't spending time with Rachel. He was having dinner with his sister at his sisters apartment. Rachel lives there too. Its ridiculous to say Ross either can't ever go to his sisters place or Rachel has to hide in her room if Ross is visiting Monica.
Fun Fact: Emily's actress (Helen Baxendale) was supposed to have more time and story with Ross on the show, but she got pregnant and that's why the last scene we saw her she was in a bed and made sense to why the writers made the Ross and Emily storyline turn a full 180 so quickly.
I was literally thinking that her face looked a little more plump in this clip, and that they didn’t show her body, just focused on her face. Thanks for confirming! 👶🏻
Emily was a complete stranger. Why did Ross marry a complete stranger in the first, second, and third place when he was in love with Rachel and had been for over 10 years?
He was very mature here (at least, for his standards). 1) He felt bad for Rachel and decided she shouldn't be punished for his mistake. 2) He could have let Emily get away with that "better when I know where you at all the time" mentality, and try to cope with it once she came back. But he realized it would grow into bigger problems, so he put a stop to it before it was too late.
@@kbanghart well if you are using that against ross then you should also keep this same in mind that it was rachel "also"who couldn't keep her feelings out of all that so it's not just his fault 💁♀️
Emily's decision to go on with the wedding even after the " Take thee Rachel" fiasco led to this...she's not at fault for not trusting Ross here, but her trust was gone at the wedding and their marriage had gone down the drain that day itself.
@@anikamodani72 stfu what's up with people like you. She was invited to the wedding. She never said ross how she felt. Everything was ross and Emily's fault.
@@aayushisingh2090 Technically it's all their fault. And the reason Rachel said she wouldn't go was because, as she put it, it would make things complicated between them. But she did go... and she made things complicated. Nonetheless, when it comes to love you can't really blame people. Ross was trying to get over Rachel and he thought he could with Emily, but in the end he still would always love Rachel. Rachel told Ross many times for him to get over her, and yet she couldn't get over him. And Emily was in love with Ross, a man who already loved somebody else. Ross tried to convince Emily to make the marriage work out, which is the right call in any other case. But with them, it was just not something they could work out. Their marriage was not something that could be worked out considering that they never should've gotten married in the first place. But Ross was blinded by the illusion that he could love somebody else, and Emily was blinded by her own ego leading her to believe that she could make the marriage work by forcing Ross to change his entire life and by controlling him. For Ross it would've been devastating if Emily didn't agree to resolving their marriage. But she shouldn't have accepted. And eventually Ross would've gotten over her because... he never could love her as much as he wanted to.... I apologize for this small rant, but yeah. Love is complicated.
Listen I’m not blaming emily for not liking Rachel and I could understand her saying they shouldn’t hang out one on one. But Rachel lives with Ross’s sister. He quite literally can’t just kick her out of her own apartment because she doesn’t like them seeing each other. That’s his sister and it’s unfair for her to expect him to not see Rachel sometimes when that’s the situation
It's not just this that is problematic. Ross admitted that he has been isolating himself from his friends. It makes me wonder if Emily got angry and vile with Ross when he wanted to be with his family. Once a person starts isolating you from your friends and family, that is the time you get out. If the roles were reversed and Ross was a woman married to a man who made that phone call, would you say you understand where they were coming from?
Don't forget that Ross had been in love with Rachel since he was a teenager. He never stopped loving Rachel. He barely knew Emily. This was badly written from beginning to end. If men are as fickle as Ross was, there would be no successful marriages in the world.

Of course she wouldn’t want them alone together but Rachel is part of Ross’ friendship group that he sees daily. She lives with his sister who he always visits and she lives across the hall from 2 of his best friends. It would be impossible for him to never see her. Also her asking this of him wasn’t just impacting him, it was making life difficult for Joey, Monica (her sister in law), Chandler and Phoebe. Also Rachel but I doubt she’d care about that. Also it isn’t the not wanting him to be with Rachel that shows her to be controlling it’s more of her asking Ross to uproot his entire life and wanting to know where he would be all the time. Ross definitely messed up but Emily was definitely showing controlling behaviour and in the end Ross probably would’ve been miserable.
Ross messed up his marriage by marrying Emily too fast. He was still not over Rachel obviously so it is not Emily's fault to mistrust him. Am I the only one who feels so bad for Emily? Imagine hearing your husband saying another woman's name at your own wedding, I would feel shattered. Emily has all the right to be upset at Ross, plus they are married and Emily has the right to be closer with Ross more than he is with Rachel.
She brought this on to herself. The moment Ross said Rachel’s name, she should’ve realized his true feelings. She married him knowing he loved Rachel. I see this as a way of tying someone to a relationship.
Emily was indeed the victim up to the moment she started treating Ross like her Marionette. She should've left him the moment he said the wrong name. But she stayed around to "work on the relationship" robbed him of his stability, his apartment, his job, and almost his friends and family just to feel secure. When that plan didn't work she just left. And he was at the lowest point of his life after that. While I understand that her anger and hurt are valid, she wasn't fair nor reasonable and that made her guilty too.
"You obviously can't keep away from her" Emily summarized ten years in one sentence without even living in the same continent. She was too intelligent and mature to notice the whole story. Ross wasn't ready for a marriage at all, neither knew himself enough. His destiny was always Rachel, and when they both were ready, they finally became a solid couple. Emily had no need to play the rol of "collateral damage" during the process and she just knew it.
I could understand Emily's feelings when she asked Ross not to see Rachel, I mean that is understandable after he said "Rachel" his ex-girlfriend's name at the wedding and trying to catch their honeymoon flight with the same girl. Until She went totally CRAZY and asked him to sell all his furniture and move to a new place that is very far from his work
Oh yes because asking your partner to move from one country to another so you could live together and start married life in the same place is totally crazy but controlling who he can and can't see it not? Emily has no right to keep Ross and Rachel apart, this only reflects on her lack of trust, without trust the marriage is over anyway. Although we are alluding to fictional characters all women should take note here, we can't and should not control the actions of a man, if he truly loves you and wants to be with you then he will always do what is right by you. If he doesn't, then leave him, have some dignity and find yourself someone who truly loves you not pretending to get over there Ex like Ross was. Ultimately the heart wants what the heart wants, your feelings will always catch up with you so Ross would have ended up leaving Emily for Rachel anyway.
@@hya958 (...)if he truly loves you and wants to be with you then he will always do what is right by you.(...) like say for example say your name at the altar and not some exes name?
@@rksworld4405 Exactly, he said Rachel's name at the altar because obviously he was still in love with her. I don't think Ross actually wanted to get married, he was just doing it to spite Rachel or to get over her... which clearly didn't work.
People don’t like Emily but I don’t think she was in the wrong entirely. I don’t know how you can expect anyone to not have issues with trust when they’ve said their ex girlfriend’s name during your wedding vows. Yes, she can’t expect to have complete control over Ross at all times but you can’t blame her for wanting to after that, it’s only natural and I just felt bad for Emily when I first watched it rather than villainising her.
Well I guess you and I are the only people with a good conscience amongst all the friends fan base And the fact that NO ONE is blaming that Selfish b*tch Rachel for anything is WILD
The fact that she has trust issues with someone she just married is more of a sign to walk away. Taking away the source of the mistrust does not build trust back.
If the relationship had ended up the momment Ross said Rachel at the wedding ,then it would had been his fault, but she went with it and even considered taking him back, so, is not like she didn't know what she was getting into
So I don’t blame Emily for being pissed at Ross (she was humiliated in front of all of her loved ones at her own wedding, why wouldn’t she be mad) and I thought she was in the right for awhile. However, when she started the whole “isolate him from his friend” emotional abuse thing, she lost all of my respect. He made a dumb mistake, not to mention the fact that Rachel should not have been punished like this.
I get that it’s just tv show and while I do agree that Emily could have called off the wedding and shouldn’t have went overboard and trusted Ross, if I was in her situation, I’m not gonna lie, I would feel a little bit weird about Rachel. She is his ex, he said her name at the altar, he hangs out with her everyday, he even tried to go on their honeymoon with Rachel right when Emily was gonna forgive Ross and go with him. Emily liked Rachel at first. I can understand why Emily felt the way she did. If I was Ross, I wouldn’t have stopped seeing Rachel but for the time being, maybe try limiting my time with Rachel (I don’t see why he couldn’t just not hang out with her alone and with the group of friends and her instead) and explained everything to Emily. Then again, Ross and Emily did rush into their marriage. Idk. These are just my personal opinions.
@@MariaRincon22 agreed. They were together for like two episodes and suddenly they got married, that marriage was a disaster waiting to happen. I do get your point, though
Honestly, I didn't blame her for wanting him to end his friendship with Rachel. I don't know too many people who would be cool with their SO being best friends with someone they've slept with multiple times & had a strong history with. That would make anyone uncomfortable.
Then she should've said that from the start. She put Ross through so many obstacles just for her to gain a false sense of power in the relationship, only to say in the eleventh hour "I'll feel better when I'm there, so I can know where you are all the time." Ma'am, please! If that's what she truly wanted, she would've been there weeks earlier. No! She ran off. Hid away. Dodged his phone calls. Refused his gifts. Emily should've just ended the relationship.

Ross got funnier after he and Rachel broke up. To me he was hella boring in the first two seasons. I did like him in season 3 but after he and Rachel broke up. He became fun and when Emily came around he was funnier. I loved the Emily episodes. She was cool in the beginning but then they made her bitchy I was like nope. Bye bye lol
My analysis is before he dated Rachel he was actually much more preserved (probably still upset about splitting up with Carol) and more calculating. Yes it made him boring too. After dating Rachel (and after breaking up with her as well) he was much more adventurous and expressive with himself, even going so far as to having a “rage problem”. He was even more fun and took more risks, but unfortunately for him it also got him into a lot of unlucky situations (i.e. stuck in his leather pants, getting a failed tan, etc). But of course this meant more entertainment for the audience!

Helen Baxendale's acting with her body, her tone and inflection were PERFECT when she says, "I'll feel better when I know where you are all the time." It tells me she felt very insecure and vulnerable in the situation and was being controlling out of fear and less about being a "punishing" controlling person.
Lol for anyone who's been married or in a serious relationship, rachel sucks as a person but ross is just plain unfaithful. When it came to choose either, he chose Rachel's feelings first before his to-be wife
Anyone in a serious relationship or marriage would not have stayed with someone who literally said their ex who they know they had a chaotic breakup with’s name at their wedding. Emily was just taking her anger at Ross and being embarrassed on Rachel and Ross tbh. She should’ve left him after the wedding and at the bare minimum made him work out his feelings for Rachel and then maybe revisit things.
@Paolo Shyti we gotta admit, Rachel and Ross were getting into stuff as a knee jerk reaction to breaking up. Their break up was never really flushed out.
This is the kind of situation that has no fair solution besides a break-up/divorce, because no matter which way you turn it, someone is going to feel unhappy or uncomfortable. If the trust is gone, Emily will never feel comfortable in her marriage knowing that her husband is still hanging out with his ex-girlfriend (love of his life) and Ross will never be happy tossing Rachel out of his life. Neither one is wrong. It's just that both their needs are completely at odds and neither one should have to sacrifice their peace of mind, that's not what a healthy marriage is built on.
For me, it's not Rachel's fault. She went there to confess to Ross that she still loves him and apparently stop the wedding. However, after seeing how happy Ross was, she just congratulated him instead. It was Ross who said the wrong name, meaning the woman in front of him is not the woman in his mind that he would take as a wedded wife. Or it could be a slip of tongue too. But either way, Emily won't act that way if Ross make that mistake.
I'm a girl and I didn't like Emily either - she was just there to keep Ross and Rachel apart more, it's obvious, and in the end, Ross said ''Rachel'' at the altar, because that was his subconscious - he always loved Rachel and she was always on his mind, it was stronger than him.
He said Rachel because she showed up out of nowhere right before the ceremony. True he still had feelings for her but they wouldn't have come up if she wasn't there.
Agreed. I’m also a girl and I didn’t like her arc. The only reason for it was to keep Ross and Rachel (obviously endgame) apart. She had every right to be upset but the second she started demanding that he cut Rachel out of his life entirely, I lost every ounce of respect for her. The episodes post-wedding were when she showed her true colors (emotional abuse).
The show went on for 10 seasons, They couldn't pair them together so fast. They needed drama and space for storylines. None of it was really a waste like so many people say. Space is needed.
I never liked that Emily character, she could not trust Ross even just hanging out with his friends and she is jealous of Rachel, I'm glad that relationship ended, I've always loved Ross and Rachel together
Emily is not wrong here though. It's Ross's fault. Imagine the humiliation she felt when ross said Rachel's name at her wedding!! It's her way of punishing ross, it's overdone but we can't expect anyone to be sane after what happened.
And do you all remember what she did later? Calling Ross on the eve of her second marriage and asking him whether they broke up too soon. Yep, I feel sorry for her. Lol
Then she shouldn't have said she had forgiven him when she didn't. All she did was give Ross more false hope just to tear it away after he did all that for her. By the end they were both in the wrong. I would've respected Emily 10x more if she had stuck to her guns like she planned. What she did here is controlling and abusive, what Ross did was humiliating and cruel. At least what Ross did was a mistake, Emily was purposely being awful. Ross is a much better person between the two... Emily was trying to isolate him and he was so desperate for a successful marriage he refused to see it, that is where his fault lies. She was being completely unreasonable and psychotic. I can't believe people still stick up for her after all this time, It genuinely makes me question the character of those who do. On what planet, real or fictional, would that behavior be okay? Her requests are asinine.... especially when she asks him to abandon his son in order to move to London just so he wouldn't be able to see Rachel anymore. I can see where she’s coming from. I mean it’s humiliating and heartbreaking when your partner still loves their ex that they still regularly hang out with from time to time. He said Rachel’s name at the altar. Sure I hated that Rachel decided to go despite saying she won’t to tell Ross he love her, but she did the right thing and kept her mouth shut when she saw how happy he was. He might have been caught off guard with her there but to me he wouldn’t have said her name if he didn’t still have any lingering feelings for her. That was more on him than her. She’s extremely insecure. Just like Ross was when he was with Rachel the first time and all jealous because he was still insecure from his marriage with Carol. But… she was being unreasonable. Rachel lives in his sister’s apartment. Rachel is best friends with his friends. I can understand “don’t be ALONE with Rachel. But it would be near impossible never seeing Rachel again unless he either cuts out his sister and all his friends or his friends and sister cut out Rachel. Neither of which they’re willing to do. Side note: a lot of these Ross fiascos to me are results of poor decision making. Sleeping with someone less than 24 hrs after breaking up not breaking up with Rachel, kissing Rachel impulsively before breaking up with Julie and Bonnie, marrying Emily soooo soon…
2:19 Similarly, Rachel asked for Ross's trust for Mark and he didn't give it to her. This incident should have made him realise how wrongly he behaved with Rachel
@brokengamers5625 uh... same thing bro?? Trust should be between couples and a third person should not make a difference. And Rachel's intentions were not good either if you remember
I was so happy when Ross first started going out with Emily. Thought we'd finally see him move on and continue to have a healthy friendly relationship with Rachel. The sudden change in Emily & Ross mixing up names or even Rachel getting hung up about the wedding made no sense at the time.
Dang, ya'll. How would you feel if your partner said their ex's name instead of yours at YOUR wedding in front of all your friends & family? Couple that with Rachel's awkward and obviously sad reaction to learning that Ross & Emily were engaged. Emily saw that, too, and knew Rachel still had feelings for Ross. Now imagine that your partner and that same ex hung out with each other practically every day. To my recollection, Emily was never jealous or insecure until she had reasons to be - and trying to trust someone who you don't trust is awful. I feel for her, truly, and I respect her for being able to say "No" when Ross asked her if she could trust him. Hopefully she found someone else whose hung-up exes weren't still in their lives.
If my imaginary husband wants to hang out with his ex (whom he still has feelings for) every single day , and his family and friends encourage it , I would be enraged and may be file for divorce. This type of fiasco is unacceptable in real life. It's the best to part ways as much peacefully as possible .

I don't get it when people still blame Emily or hate her because of this. I totally agree with her in this situation. Just imagine it when you're likely to get married, in front of ALL your best friends and family, and his friends, and that stupid girl! Okay, why not other circumstances? Why it has to be that time when he is about to give you the ring? It would feel better to hear that when you have sex rather than at the altar. Just PUT YOURSELF in that case. I still can't understand why Ross could say the wrong name. It's ridiculous. I mean yeah it's might be a little bit too much when she forced ross not to see his friend anymore but come on, what's that kind of "friends"? It's no more than a toxic relationship. They were even likely to go on the honeymoon together, just after when Rachel screw the wedding up!
He said Rachel and the wedding and not Emily. If that was going to be such a big problem for her she should not have gone through with the wedding after slip up instead of becoming an insecure, manipulative, controlling wife. Is Ross, partially to blame, I suppose, but the best option would have been to end the marriage before it started.
@@sarahneuren7057 She was also mad because of the embarrassment, think u are getting married and the other person says the name of her ex. Personally I would end everything right there but for some people they couldnt do that decision in that moment cuz pride and honor.
I get why she was so insecure, and I don't blame her for wanting him to cut Rachel out, but I don't think she realised how hard it would be. I mean she's literally his sister's roommate and they share the same friends, and she acts surprised that Rachel was at the apartment here...when its Monica's apartment she's calling?
I understand where Emily is coming from but still she was way too controlling over Ross. Ross’s loyalty too his friends was incredible in this episode.
the amount of people in these comments justifying Emily's controlling behavior is scary. she didn't just ban this man from from ever seeing his childhood friend, which is bad enough-- she made him get rid of all his furniture and belongings. Insane. I don't blame her I sympathize with her, she was humiliated. I'm happy she realized at the end this was about trust issues and not necessarily about Rachel.
Emily was right though...Ross could never cut ties with Rachel...instead he could cut ties with his other girlfriends if they don't approve rachel as his friend...Ross actually loved Rachel only...that's the only reason he wanted to hang out with rachel no matter what..even if as friends
Emily has a right to be cold with Rachel because of the shenanigans at the wedding and the airport. But forcing someone to cut off a friend to be with you is toxic in itself. Then add to that her now saying she has to know where he is 24/7. I think the whole situation was turning her into a bad person and would have left Ross miserable. Plus it's all unfair on Rachel and the other roommates. It's good that it never worked out
Helen Baxendale was the reason I named one of my four cats Emily. I loved her appearance on the screen, her elegant British accent, her amazing face... Of course, the character of Emily was a "not so fan to be with" person, but my cat is adorable.

I think Emily just wanted an excuse to end the relationship.
Don't forget that Ross had been in love with Rachel since he was a teenager. He never stopped loving Rachel. He barely knew Emily. This was badly written from beginning to end. If men are as fickle as Ross was, there would be no successful marriages in the world.

CHILL
It's not emotional abuse. It's called having healthy boundaries. Honestly you people sound like those that treat others like doormats.

It’s technically Monica’s apartment.
@@Conmon115 true

She knew Ross was going to be one of two places. Home or Monica's. Some of this dialog was silly.
Realistically, Emily has a point. She realised that Ross has a soft corner for Rachael. He loves her. Emily is totally right.
That’s a controlling psycho, good riddance!

A woman will be bitchy if she goes through Ross-Rachel situation . Perfectly understandable
@@Some_guy_passing_by Understandable if you get upset if somebody says the wrong name at a wedding yes. Understandable to demand a whole friend group stop seeing a core member of their group just so rachel and Ross dont bump into each other? Not understandable. She is pretty much pushing not just for ross, but all of them to not hang with Rachel if they still want to see Ross and vice versa which is unreasonable. You either forgive somebody for a slip up and move on, or you dont and break up. You dont make weird demands that are unfair to a group of people. Monica Chandler Joey and Phoeby also got dragged into her drama this way. If Ross and rachel want to remain friends, they should be able to do so as well. I will never support any women, or man for that matter, demaning their lovers dont see certain people alone even if they are an ex. You either trust your partner, or you dont. If you trust your partner, you would trust them with anyone. If you dont, dont be in a relationship with them. Simple enough. And if you trust them, and they do end up cheating on you, that just means they are not right for you anyway. It does NOT mean you should be stricter next time. If they cant be faithfull to you by choice, they are not somebody you should be involved with. If you lose them, you lose them. That can be horrible, but better in the long term. But dont try to control them, ever. Thats just misery for everyone involved.
I think they would've kept Emily around longer and not made her so bitchy, if the actress hadn't found out she was pregnant.
@@lunalove9395 thats not the reason why they wrote her off the show. The reason why they wrote her off the show cuz she didn't want to raise her kid in the states. She wanted to stay back in London. It had nothing to do with the pregnancy. They would have worked it out with her hiding behind couches and holding stuff like Lisa kudrow did in the show before they had her character pregnant as well. It was cuz Helen didn't want to do the show in the states cuz of her new baby. Too bad I liked Emily. She was cool character.
Anyone else realize Joey sitting on the green ottoman, where Monica didn’t like it
I love how Joey immediately put his hand on Rachel’s arm to comfort her.
He was being honest
It’s a show and it was in the script. Calm down
Anyone in a serious relationship or marriage would not have stayed with someone who literally said their ex who they know they had a chaotic breakup with’s name at their wedding. Emily was just taking her anger at Ross and being embarrassed on Rachel and Ross tbh. She should’ve left him after the wedding and at the bare minimum made him work out his feelings for Rachel and then maybe revisit things.
I get where she came from, but it's still shitty of Emily to put him in that position
Omg I love them when I watch them I feel like there my actual friends
2:47 this scene😂😂❤
So funny 😂
For me, it's not Rachel's fault. She went there to confess to Ross that she still loves him and apparently stop the wedding. However, after seeing how happy Ross was, she just congratulated him instead. It was Ross who said the wrong name, meaning the woman in front of him is not the woman in his mind that he would take as a wedded wife. Or it could be a slip of tongue too. But either way, Emily won't act that way if Ross make that mistake.
It's not her fault but she's still a terrible person for trying though and the point is at the end she got what she wanted anyway!
@@OHCAM5 then it would have been better if she called off the wedding than have a husband who still has feelings for his ex.
"i have to know where you are all the time"
that is a MAJOR red flag
One of the biggest
I love the dailogue "You can help me get my furniture back from gunther".
Emily is not wrong here though. It's Ross's fault. Imagine the humiliation she felt when ross said Rachel's name at her wedding!! It's her way of punishing ross, it's overdone but we can't expect anyone to be sane after what happened.
She is partly to blame. Should have stopped the wedding.
@@janinealderete2633 that's the right thing to do, yes. But i think she was too shaken from what happened and couldn't think straight.
Yet somehow, "Emily isn't wrong here though." 🙄🙄🙄

Idk why but Joey smiling and frowning through the window at Ross makes me die laughing every time.
Emily & Ross had a sweet relationship. It's too bad they couldn't just recast the role. Rachel & Ross had a strong history & slept together "298 times" lol....I think most people would feel a bit uncomfortable with that friendship & kind of history, so I didn't blame Emily.
The bigger point is that Ross was always in love with Rachel and had been since he was a teenager. Emily never stood a chance. The writers were always cruel to write these storylines when there was no vision of Ross with anyone other than Rachel.
@@Beth-ve7ob From what I understand, Ross and Emily were supposed to be long term or at least last another season. The actress, Helen Baxendale, became pregnant and didn't want to stay in America and she wasn't treated that well by the fans. I do wonder what the writers had planned for Ross/Emily had she stayed.....? Would they have kept them together or would they have eventually split them up to appease R&R fans. I loved Schwimmer/Aniston's chemistry, but I hated the writing for R&R. It was so frustrating.

If Joey did those faces as I was waking up in the morning, I wouldn’t be frightened lol
2:19 Similarly, Rachel asked for Ross's trust for Mark and he didn't give it to her. This incident should have made him realise how wrongly he behaved with Rachel
However this is not the same thing. He doubted on Mark's intentions and there were a lot of misunderstandings and anyone would have felt that way
@brokengamers5625 uh... same thing bro?? Trust should be between couples and a third person should not make a difference. And Rachel's intentions were not good either if you remember

I was so happy when Ross first started going out with Emily. Thought we'd finally see him move on and continue to have a healthy friendly relationship with Rachel. The sudden change in Emily & Ross mixing up names or even Rachel getting hung up about the wedding made no sense at the time.
They had to write the Emily actress out of the show, so they cooked up that story! It wasn't supposed to be like this.

She put herself through that though. She never should have married him after he said Rachel's name
If my imaginary husband wants to hang out with his ex (whom he still has feelings for) every single day , and his family and friends encourage it , I would be enraged and may be file for divorce. This type of fiasco is unacceptable in real life. It's the best to part ways as much peacefully as possible .

He said Rachel and the wedding and not Emily.
