No problem with that opinion. But she is generally seen as the number 3 in Friends after Rachel and Monica. I personally think she is cute in season 1 and 2 but after that she is not hot or cute in my books. But that is subjective of course.
In my opinion Monica had every right to be mad. Not only was she overweight, she had a unhappy and miserable childhood as her father always praise Ross and her mother was always critical and judgemental of her, and she was in the shadow of Rachel as she was pretty and popular. Through her entire life Monica was never the center of attention she figure since it's her engagement night she will get tons of recognition and credibility but unfortunately Rachel took that away from her as everybody was interested in Rachel and Ross getting back together.
Except no one would have known about the Ross and Rachel kiss if she hadn't broadcast it all over the apartment. So while I understand the insecurity, the whole losing her thunder was pretty much her own fault.
She was insecure, she didn't have any right to blame Rachel. Rachel didn't make her fat or made her parents hate her. But we people don't do everything according to rules, we make mistakes. That is what makes friendships special.
I totally relate to Monica on this. Girls like us are somehow surrounded by girls like Rachel. We keep giving and giving and providing and helping. And yet whenever it is our turn to shine, they find a way to become the centre of our show. They would do the most ridiculous thing and soon enough they will be the celebrity of our guest list. We just remain wallflowers because these girls are always desperate for attention.
Bro that is not the pretty girls fault. People who are insecure will take it the wrong way and you guys just have to put yourself more out there and just take the spotlight back.
@Son Ye Jin yeah I do agree but I didn't mean to say it was intentional to steal Monica's thunder but it kinda happened on every Monica's special day including on the day of her marriage that was pretty bad for Monica tbh😒
Even she kind of said that .... ....no i think monica said that i will be pregnant at the time you announce your wedding. Chandler said hows it is even possible
Cant rlly take anyone's side if mon and rachel had just been a little mature... Rachel could've apologized and mon should've understood rach would never have any ill will towards her
I couldn't help but feel so annoyed with Rachel, all she had to do was apologise instead of asking "what did you mean when you said you didn't want to talk to anyone especially me?"....you can ask her that any other day if you really want to know, she should've just said sorry in that moment, I don't even think that Rachel wanted to steal her thunder
Rachel didn’t want to steal her thunder. And honestly it wouldn’t have been stolen at all if Monica wouldn’t have brought it up again. Monica overreacting kinda caused this whole thing to spiral out of control.
@@msfriendsfan4ever788 she made it a big deal , bcoz she had a lot of bad experience with Rachel So it was like shit i knew it u are gonna do something to ruin my day
@@msfriendsfan4ever788 rachel won't plan bcoz she can naturally spoil others day ( with this excuse-- i didn't plant to do so) was most of the time was all abt herself,l ike how Brad bitt said she is so busy in her Rachel land For example that one scene where the gang was ready to boost Ross to the father of that college student (Ross gf,) Rachel was already late and she was not checking if her father was there or not She just like said i m late i m ready to say good things abt Ross Come on already she was late but she didn't care to check if that dad was already there She was all about herself Rachel left to London inspite of knwing that Ross might feel bad if she said abt her love In the beach house she made pheebs friend to go bald when she wanted Ross back The list goes on.
Uh, we yk ppl have different taste but yes I totally agree, I think she was the most attractive Chara in the show, man I've always wondered the same, how can u not see how beautiful she is??? Her face is like.. WOW
at first i didn’t understand how kissing someone could take away from monica’s day. but then again, it wasn’t just anyone- it was ross. it’s the history between rachel and him, along with the list of little things that piled up over time like monica’s 16th birthday party make total sense why monica would mistake rachel’s intentions and feel hurt. on the other hand, rachel can be a horrible, conceited person. you don’t just take away all the attention from your friend’s birthday party because it’s soooo boring. and even if you were so shallow at 16, you should have ideally grown up out of that by this point and at the very least shown some remorse to your friend who is clearly upset. but rachel didn’t do any of that, and even after finding out why monica felt hurt by her actions tonight, she just doubled down and did worse- i mean, sleeping with ross isn’t the issue but announcing it to spite her friend clearly is.
I totally understand that point of view. But if you hear in both Ross and Rachel they were not yelling at first they were calm at least in my opinion they were trying to explain that it was still her day and they wanted nothing more then to celebrate. It wasn’t until Monica started to yell that Rachel raised her voice .
The thing that has always irritated me about this episode is that it was Monica’s little tantrum that took the attention away from her engagement. If she had just kept her mouth shut no one else would have known that Rachel and Ross kissed. I think what she said to Rachel was something she had been wanting to her off her chest for years and she used this incident as her opportunity.
I kinda agree... I really don't think Rachel, despite her bitchy nature, ever tried to steal her thunder intentionally... Maybe unintentionally in the past, but let's face it, Rachel was a slut from way back, so it ain't surprising. And especially on this instance, it was totally between her and Ross. They both felt horny and they kissed, and would have eventually had sex but Rachel I don't think tried anything shady to ruin Monica's big night.
I agree. It's a human reaction, though, Monica's insecurities really show here. I know a few people like that, who make everything about them and think the whole world is out to get them.
I don’t completely agree. Monica was prepared to let it go when they talked to her about it, it was when Phoebe walked in and egged everything on from there. U can see the expression hit Monica’s face when it happens. Yes Monica was upset about it but she was prepared to let it go.
@@maxguevara5204 All Monica had to do when she saw Ross and Rachel kissing was ask them to put aside whatever was going on between them until tomorrow. Instead she went on a rant about how the night was all about her and they stole her thunder. Ross and Rachel were trying to calm her down and that’s when Phoebe walked in. It was her childish reaction that drew attention to what was going on between Ross and Rachel.
If this, if that This is a sitcom with many many ifs It’s there to make a story You see many questionable decisions made by all them that would frankly not be made by a more logical person If everyone made the right choice that made sense, there’s nothing to write about Like damn relax lol If I had two wheels I’d be a bicycle If Ross and Rachel were able to communicate better their whole thing wouldn’t last a whole series Ifs and ifs and ifs If anything it’s great they’re like this, I don’t want to watch perfect people lol

Yup. Monica (Courteney Cox) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) were the 2 main reasons I watched "Friends" (the 3rd reason being Chandler's, Matthew Perry's sarcastic humor and comedic jokes, of course....lol.). I think of all the seasons, Season 2 and Season 7 were the best years appearance wise for Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston. Monica was stunningly gorgeous and Rachel was incredibly sexy.....😍❣😊
From season to season, even episode to episode, there were times where Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Monica (Courteney Cox) shined more than the other. I think the producers made an effort to balance the ensemble cast plotlines. But I do agree that this particular episode, they were both at peak attraction....lol. 👍❤🔥🔥
Rachel was anything but resentful. She was secure enough to not get shaken up just because Monica had gotten engaged. But can't blame Monica too because too many incidents revolve around Rachel and Ross. She wanted this night to just be about her engagement. ❤

Through her entire life Monica was never the center of attention she figure since it's her engagement night she will get tons of recognition and credibility but unfortunately Rachel took that away from her as everybody was interested in Rachel and Ross getting back together.
That's true, but she could have been a little less mean about it. It's not like Rach _wanted_ to openly outshine her or something.
@@CrazyIshan69 Rachel has outshined her on purpose multiple times .
@@sapnareji But this wasn't one of them. She had a moment of her own with Ross, that's all.
💯
Well, contrary to popular belief, weddings are not about being the centre of a show. 🤷🏻♀️
Bro that is not the pretty girls fault. People who are insecure will take it the wrong way and you guys just have to put yourself more out there and just take the spotlight back.
Sounds to me like you're the one desperate for attention.
@@blueecho9792 how does this situation have anything to do with me being desperate for attention?
Rachel stole the thunder even on Monica's wedding day by getting pregnant 🤔
@Son Ye Jin yeah I do agree but I didn't mean to say it was intentional to steal Monica's thunder but it kinda happened on every Monica's special day including on the day of her marriage that was pretty bad for Monica tbh😒
you are so not a FRIENDS'S fan}
Even she kind of said that .... ....no i think monica said that i will be pregnant at the time you announce your wedding. Chandler said hows it is even possible

Cant rlly take anyone's side if mon and rachel had just been a little mature... Rachel could've apologized and mon should've understood rach would never have any ill will towards her
Whats best friendship without a dash of immaturity and disagreements
As always Chandler with the perfect line at the end
She 100% stole Monica's thunder
She 100 stole Montana
Not at all. That was so childish on Monica's part.
@@Desativado12-z3i chanandler
She wouldn’t if monica didn’t make a big deal about it
@@Desativado12-z3iwhat?
I couldn't help but feel so annoyed with Rachel, all she had to do was apologise instead of asking "what did you mean when you said you didn't want to talk to anyone especially me?"....you can ask her that any other day if you really want to know, she should've just said sorry in that moment, I don't even think that Rachel wanted to steal her thunder
Why she had to apologies? because she kissed Ross?
@@leeJihyo0 yeah that was the reason
Rachel didn’t want to steal her thunder. And honestly it wouldn’t have been stolen at all if Monica wouldn’t have brought it up again. Monica overreacting kinda caused this whole thing to spiral out of control.
@@trahman9844 Huh.. So kissing can ruins the engagements that why Rachel had to apologies 😆
Why should she apologise tho she didn’t do anything wrong 😑
OMG! Angry Phoebe's singing style is just... fantastical

👍
I can relate to the pain, when Chandler said, "yeah! Somebody should" lol
It's kind of true that Rachel steals the thunder
Monica had warned her many times
Still Rachel always did something to make it abt herself
Monica more or less gave her her Thunder. She was the one who told everyone about Ross and Rachel kissing, and made it into a big deal
@@msfriendsfan4ever788 no Monica calmed down after she realised nobody saw it, Phoebe overheard them and blew it up.
@@msfriendsfan4ever788 she made it a big deal , bcoz she had a lot of bad experience with Rachel
So it was like shit i knew it u are gonna do something to ruin my day
@@happyme3930 It's not like Rachel planned on kissing Ross. Monica ultimately gave her Thunder away.
@@msfriendsfan4ever788 rachel won't plan bcoz she can naturally spoil others day ( with this excuse-- i didn't plant to do so) was most of the time was all abt herself,l ike how Brad bitt said she is so busy in her Rachel land
For example that one scene where the gang was ready to boost Ross to the father of that college student (Ross gf,)
Rachel was already late and she was not checking if her father was there or not
She just like said i m late i m ready to say good things abt Ross
Come on already she was late but she didn't care to check if that dad was already there
She was all about herself
Rachel left to London inspite of knwing that Ross might feel bad if she said abt her love
In the beach house she made pheebs friend to go bald when she wanted Ross back
The list goes on.
Rachel somehow still managed to get married (drunk or not)and have a baby before Monica.
Yep.
Although Pheebs technically did both of them first.
Idk how can't people see Monica to be so so much more beautiful and sexier than Rachael(or any other character, for me)
For me both of them are very different yet equally attractive. And it's good that they have their own unique personalities inside and out.
Uh, we yk ppl have different taste but yes I totally agree, I think she was the most attractive Chara in the show, man I've always wondered the same, how can u not see how beautiful she is??? Her face is like.. WOW
@@talaaa2897 exactly my point. She is pure attractive
at first i didn’t understand how kissing someone could take away from monica’s day. but then again, it wasn’t just anyone- it was ross. it’s the history between rachel and him, along with the list of little things that piled up over time like monica’s 16th birthday party make total sense why monica would mistake rachel’s intentions and feel hurt.
on the other hand, rachel can be a horrible, conceited person. you don’t just take away all the attention from your friend’s birthday party because it’s soooo boring. and even if you were so shallow at 16, you should have ideally grown up out of that by this point and at the very least shown some remorse to your friend who is clearly upset. but rachel didn’t do any of that, and even after finding out why monica felt hurt by her actions tonight, she just doubled down and did worse- i mean, sleeping with ross isn’t the issue but announcing it to spite her friend clearly is.
I totally understand that point of view. But if you hear in both Ross and Rachel they were not yelling at first they were calm at least in my opinion they were trying to explain that it was still her day and they wanted nothing more then to celebrate. It wasn’t until Monica started to yell that Rachel raised her voice .
In fact Rachel stole Monica’s thunder again later. When Monica was getting married Rachel told that she was pregnant.
She didnt want to steal her thunder. Didn't Monica make her take a pregnancy test?
She didn’t, they found out. She tried to keep it a secret because she wanted Monica to enjoy her special day
Exactly!!!
She didn't steal her thunder then she didn't tell anyone they found out and Monica asked her to take a pregnancy test
no she didn’t Rachel was trying to keep it a secret, stop spreading Bs
For what it's worth I pray Mathew Perry knows he Brought alot of laughs to people's homes and hearts .....that man was magnetic
Phoebe song and Chandler and Ross reaction was hilarious. LOL.

I like when Rachel speaks so decisively when she is angry. I like her diction. English is not my native language and with friends I've learnt much.
This is from over 20 yrs ago but I still wear the outfit that Rachel has on.
The outfit must be pretty used by now ...

“Well, somebody should “ 😂
The thing that has always irritated me about this episode is that it was Monica’s little tantrum that took the attention away from her engagement.
If this, if that
This is a sitcom with many many ifs
It’s there to make a story
You see many questionable decisions made by all them that would frankly not be made by a more logical person
If everyone made the right choice that made sense, there’s nothing to write about
Like damn relax lol
If I had two wheels I’d be a bicycle
If Ross and Rachel were able to communicate better their whole thing wouldn’t last a whole series

Jennifer and Courtney look their best in this episode
Jennifer’s weave at this time was really nice. I always loved it!!
Thanks to Friends now I know what "going to 1st, 2nd or 3rd base" means in relationships 😂
(I’m a non-native english speaker)
I've watched these episodes countless times and it just now hit me how freaky that party of Monica's was lol.
Chandler: Because I CAN!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ross was walking off like "I'm gonna go straighten her out".
Rachel was anything but resentful. She was secure enough to not get shaken up just because Monica had gotten engaged. But can't blame Monica too because too many incidents revolve around Rachel and Ross. She wanted this night to just be about her engagement. ❤
Ross is always funny.
"That's why you did it in the secret hallway where nobody ever goes" QUEEN
“Well somebody should”😂

Monica was beautiful in this episode. I mean she's always beautiful, but this episode she looks extra. I think it's the black dress and long hair. So pretty.
