My ex husband moved on after our divorce and his new girlfriend had a son with him. I ended up coparenting with her because he was a jerk! When My son was little (he is now an adult) he asked me if he could get her a “mom” necklace and we absolutely did! It was so nice to have another woman who loved my children and were there for them when I couldn’t be. Now they are no longer together and her and I are still close and I am close to her kids as she is with mine! ❤❤❤❤

Im a 50/50 parent as well & my bd lets his wife do anythimg she wants. My daughter is 9 & the lady decided to get her bras, get her first big girl haircut, said she was going to get her ears pierced, but luckily i did it first. She takes her to drs appts & dentist appts where theres blood being drawn & i dont get informed or a decision in whats going on. & the first time i ever talked to her, when my daughter was 6, she told me she was going to my daughters school to talk to them about my coparenting schedule w my bd 😂 i literally hate her. & my bd. They dont gaf about her having a full time, involved mom. I also have a baby & am a stay at home mom, so i have all the time of the day to do these things w & for my daughter. Im 100% present.
My hubbys ex is a nightmare. There could not ever be a relationship to co parent. My hubby had to block her and stop talking to her because she just caused drama after drama. Oh i have so much to say my hubby pays child support alot for his 4 kids and she claims them on tax returns and we didnt ever see them having new shoes or clothes or anything she expected him to buy EVERYTHING, glasses, contacts, dental appts , etc! I stepped in and helped him with everything. I have so much more to say.
35:53 My daughter LOVED toy cars. She had her Barbies and her baby dolls and he tea sets, but she also loved her trucks and cars and her Ninja Turtles. Lol. And she absolutely REFUSED to wear panties when she was little. She was only comfortable in boxer briefs (the tighter ones). She's going to be 18 years old in July and still ONLY wears the boxer briefs. She also won't be caught dead in a dress or "girly" clothes. She's very much a tee, jeans and sneakers kind of girl. But, stays having her hair, nails and lashes done. 😂 I've never agreed with gender roles.
My baby daddy took my daughter to get her ears pierced! I was so mad! I will never get that moment back. When she was about 7 his gf at the time was talking about periods. I told him she has a very involved mom and unless we're all In it together (they've been together a whole/ married ect) in the conversation she shouldn't be talking about my daughters future menstrual cycle.
My bd did the same thing. Him & his wife said they were going to get her ears pierced & she came home & told me, so I got them pierced that day for her. Since they couldn't take that from me, they decided to take her to get her very long hair cut. I was sooooo so upset. It's hard to get passed stuff like that.
My bonus daughters Mom dealt with the period thing that wasnt my call, she got to do the bra shopping cause I didn’t want to overstep things that she should do, that was 25 years ago! There’s just boundaries you don’t cross
I feel like it's only worth having a parenting plan when people are respectful of it. When the new 'stepmum' (I use the term loosely as she's only known the children for 6 months) overstepped from the very beginning, there's no point. Yes, I've expressed she's overstepping, but they have no respect for me whatsoever as birth mum because 'he's the dad'. 🤷♀️ we thankfully have a contact arrangement order (uk) but unfortunately there's nothing in there about major decisions or major discussion through the childrens lives so im dreading my girls getting older and her taking over with everything 🙈
I feel ya honey! I was determined to BF, so much that i didnt think it would be an issue & just assumed it would all work! My bby girl had tongue tie & luckily we got it clipped but my milk came in late cuz of that & fizzled out slowly after 2 weeks. 😮drove myself NUTS doin alll the things like u mentioned until she was 9 months. I tried like hell ill give myself that! Shes healthy tho, Deff see a breast consultant if ya have problems & good luck to all my mamas out there! We got this💪💯✌️
Its VITAL that the bio parent (your partner) has ur back & doesnt undermine u or disrespect u in front of the kid(s), otherwise the kids will not respect or honor your authority as an "extra" parent when u try to discipline them. You and your partner MUST be on the same page & be a unified team when kids are involved. I refuse 2 get in anymore relationships with guys who have young kids, just because its 2 painful to have to leave the kids behind when the relationship doesnt work out..cuz if im gonna be with someone who has kids, im gonna love their kids as i do my own. I stayed with my 1st abusive (ex) husband as long as i did, only because i didnt want to leave my step-daughter behind. It SHATTERED my heart when i finally had 2 make that decision to divorce him. Ive still kept in contact with her mom over the years tho- her mom & i have always gotten along & i happen 2 actually really like her ha 😊
