I would reduce number of chillies to about 12-15 instead of 20 depending on how spicy/pungeancy you can handle. It's an awesome recipe, we really liked the sumptuous seafood meal.

leave it at room temperature..would taste better compared to when kept in refrigerator

Yes Ranjana..I have seen my mother using carom seeds in fish curry.But in pulimunchi it's not must.This is basically a spicy and tangy based masala.

hi your pepper seeds r yellow we use black pepper what is the difference in taste pls tell
I have used white pepper corns not yellow.When outermost thin layer of black pepper corns are removed and processed to retain only the inner seeds they become white pepper corns.Its readily available in groceries.If you are using black pepper corns slightly increase the measurement.

hi Yogita, You can do with other fish but measurements vary.Mackerel needs more spices and tamarind compared to other fish.
