The one takeaway from all of these videos is the story about a man and his love for his family. The amount of time Joe spends helping his Dad; and the time spent with his kids is what this country is lacking. Regardless of political affiliation the American dream is seen right before our eyes. This is not about shooting deer. It is about the camaraderie of being with those who you enjoy being with. For me, it was about the "herms" - a good bunch of German-Pollacks who cared about sharing memories together in various deer camps. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you Steve. When you first start hunting as a youngster it is all about "the kill" and that in itself is exciting and what keeps you coming back. As you get older and you have experienced that many times, it becomes all about hunting camp. Like you said, it is about memories and stories from hunting camps of the past. The young learn and eventually "hopefully" pass those stories down. It is just a magical thing that some do not understand. You know exactly what I mean.

Joe, you are the perfect Camp host, my Dad loved to welcome everyone up to Deer camp and he cooked up a storm. Sara is a great kid with a great attitude, good job Joe! you raised a good kid...

See Joe Deer are not stupid, they learn to sit and watch what is happening hunter wise, so when deer stands are vacated , they go out to forage and when they hear trucks or footfalls they stay in cover till you guys leave, then its time to go about their nightly foraging, always careful of any wolves going about. Same goes for Scotland except our wolves are fenced in. Cheers Mate for sharing.

Bring lots of snack type food when you go. Even though you really really want to catch a fish, put your rod down and fix that 20th line tangle she has. Keep your frustrations to yourself so she is having a great time. Only be stern when it is a safety issue. She will be there every year.
You have a good looking family. What a great bond you guys have. In today's world, not many are that fortunate. I laughed when you told Sara "no cell phone at the table!" I think I said before, I always cook up extra baked potatoes. Then I cut them up with some salt n pepper and olive oil and rebake them in a pan or skillet until they get golden brown. My grandfather is the one who taught me that the baked potatoes skins were the best part of the meal. Every single time I watch one of your videos, memories flood back. I remembered we got two loaves of "pull a part bread". You baked them in the oven about 15 minutes and then buttered the top and then just pulled each slice off the loaf with some nice butter. Meal time with him was the best part of my day. Your kids will have video's of all this in years to come to reflect back and enjoy.
It's 4:45 am on the last morning and Sara rolls over when Joe calls her... And I think... Thank God some things stay the same. Thank you, Joe, for some sort of normal in these unpredictable times. ❤🌅🌵😷

Can I just say that I absolutely love how you, Zachary, and Sarah go over each gun, how to load it, where the safety is, etc., each year! When you only handle high powered rifles once, maybe twice, a year, it’s so awesome you remind them where things are and how they work. You’re a great advocate for family fun and safety first...thanks for being a great role model!
Thank you. It is best to go over that stuff every year for two reasons. The first is safety and I have been a stickler on that. The second is if a deer does walk by you had best know exactly what to do so you do not blow your chance. Lol.

I did want to mention whenever I see you make your dinner at night when your at the tent and see you are watching TV, you remind me of Forrest Gump as you sit there with your fork in one hand, head tilted forward, watching some old Star Trek or Gunsmoke DVD total fixated on the TV lol. All kidding aside I dont think Ive a ever seen someone who cant sit still for more than 5 minutes and works harder at whatever the task at hand is than you.

Joe, I love your videos and have been following you for a couple years now. I did want to mention whenever I see you make your dinner at night when your at the tent and see you are watching TV, you remind me of Forrest Gump as you sit there with your fork in one hand, head tilted forward, watching some old Star Trek or Gunsmoke DVD total fixated on the TV lol. All kidding aside I dont think Ive a ever seen someone who cant sit still for more than 5 minutes and works harder at whatever the task at hand is than you.
