- This years opening of deer season here in Minnesota at THE TENT. Sara, Zachary and I were at The Tent. Dad and Wayne were at the Folks Cabin. George, Steven and Tom were at Georges Cabin. We had brutally cold weather conditions and snow. What a great time.

It's 2019. I'm 46 years old. And when Joe says "Sarah, it's 4:30, it's time to get up", I start looking for my hockey gear so I can go to practice, like I'm 7 years old. Joe sounds *exactly* like my Dad. Brings a tear to my eye. Thanks Joe. (yes, I've said this before, but it's worth saying again)

5 Stars ***** Great Movie. Was feeling chilled at the end with the mention of the COLD TEMPS. Brrr. But I started to warm up again when that ol' diesel got rolling down the highway. Thanks for a great video Joe and Sara. Wait, plums!!! Did I miss it?? Oh no!

Excellent movie Joe. Honestly it didnt even seem like 2 hours. This was one of your best. It really made me feel like I was there. Did those other guys that usually hunt ever show up?
To Sarah. You've grown into a nice young lady. I'm a dad myself so I can tell you how much it means for you to be there with your dad carrying on that tradition. You can see it in your dad's actions that he is very happy your there. The only thing that would make him happier would be if you got a deer. Cooking cleaning filling wood box is something he really appreciates. Your creating memories that neither of you will ever forget. Be proud of yourself because not enough young people especially young ladies care enough to spend quality time like this with there dad.

I always love the winter videos, because it seems so cozy in the tent.
These cold trips to the tent are always my favorite. Not sure why but they are. Really glad to see the kids able to join you. As they get older and get busy it get harder and harder to spend time with them. Glad you had a good first weekend.

thanks for the video...i dont hunt anymore... but i enjoy watching the 🦌 hunting movies.... it brings back so many memories of my teenage years as well as early adulthood.... my kids are grown and gone so i dont need to hunt anymore....but i do miss it...take care...God bless you all.... Curt

I really admire your relationship with your daughter . You hunt together . And you fish together . Cook together and so on . I love my daughter to no end . But I wish we could have done some of those things . On the other hand . My daughter has given me four grand kids . Which created ten great grandkids . God Bless you Joe .

Husband Ray has been an avid hunter for years deer, elk, bear, turkey, grouse, ducks, and quail. Mostly deer. He's not well enough to do adventures anymore. Does some handicapped hunting. He and I really enjoy watching all of your channels. Thank you for sharing your adventures, and cooking it is very calming.

VERY NICE job Joe !!! It was especially nice that 2 of the kids made it this year, and both seemed to be quite happy in the "movie". I used to hunt with my 3 boys, but they have their own families and busy, so I don't hunt anymore, this brings back great memories for me.....Thanks again !!!

Hey Joe try this on your baked potatoes. Cut them in half, put a slice o onion in there, pin together with tooth picks. Then take a slice of bacon, cut in half, and lay on top of potato. Then wrap in foil. Really good.
Its about time! Lol. I got the fire going, big mug of Bailey's & coffee, laptop playing the 2hr marathon. All good.
Its so funny that kids put so much energy into not getting out of bed in the morning the world round ....Left overs are yum.. We call them YMCA ( Yesterdays Meal Cooked Again )... Magic video Joe keep them coming... Cheers John...
I got sick of tv this afternoon and watched the last 5 years of opening deer hunting “The Movie”I never get sick of them.

Great, fun video! What a pleasure to watch. Can't imagine how much work it is to be constantly moving the camera around to get shots that take in everything and make us feel like we're right there with you. Funny, I was thinking the same thing as Bill Claussen - game camera inside the tent to watch the critter that comes into the tent! Thanks for such a great video - again!! :)

I have seen almost every video on this channel. The difference between the deer population where you are at and here in TN is mind boggling. We have for years been allowed to shoot 3 does a day!!! And 2 bucks in the season. With the addition of bonus bucks for drawn hunts at wma's and others. I admire the drive you guys have. Reminds me of earlier days before our population exploded. Nowadays people ridicule others based on shooting too small of a deer. I think our area has forgotten what hunting is about. The time outdoors and harvesting food. Thanks for the videos. I know it's a lot of work. Also, super jealous about your beautiful view there at the tent. That's paradise!!

What a bummer for Sarah! She is really into Deer and Duck Hunting. She gets the time to get out there for the opener and Zippo. Was glad to hear that Zach made it home safely and what a bummer for him. Well, hopefully Joe you can get 2 out of 3 of your kids up there soon again. You all seem to have a very strong Family bond. Awesome to see. Joe, it's going to happen for you and of course you be alone again. So this time just bring the 4x4 out to the brush instead of the truck if it isn't to cold. Then again what Massachusetts, Boston weather reports for your area the cold has a very strong grip on you guys. Heard of a big snow storm with a big pile up on one of the major interstates I think last week. Well, cheers to you and that small flask I highly recommend if it gets that dang cold again. Lol lol lol. No just kidding definitely kidding. Makes you worse for hypothermia. We all know that. Really enjoyed your movie Opener 2019. Just wish one of you could of gotten something. Great video. Thanks for putting it together. I laughed out loud when you were waking up Sara. I could hear the joy in the tone of your voice. You obviously love doing that. Maybe brings back memories of waking them up when they were little kids?
