I've loved stories about dragons and knights since i was a kid. This truly a great work of art to be able to write as skillfully as Mr. Fierce. I hope that he continues to work his magic for a very long time. The narrator is also grand.

Many of the younger families has it especially hard. No money , Healthcare, no school. The kids are getting cranky to say the least, but every audiobook , if the right narrater is reading it to our kid's, they will slow down, sit down and behave. So thank you again🌹

I have been listening to lots of books lately when I ran across yours. I find them a really good read, kind of something for everyone. Sure glad I found you but now I am going to have to research your other books because this one was so entertaining. Your narrator makes them even better, hope you use him throughout all your books.

My flagship series is done by Andrew McDermott, an Irishman with a fantastic accent (in my opinion, anyway). And I have a scifi series that's narrated by Max Simshauser. She's great, too. Almost all of my audiobooks are om here, but there are 2 that Audible exclusive for now.

What a delightful story. Thank you just doesn't seem enough. I often find stories written for YA's to be the most entertaining. And this certainly does not disappoint. Also loved your narrator. So many audio books I do not listen to, because of the narrator, and I know I probably missed out on some good stories because of it. Please, please keep up the wonderful work.

While I love this story I can definitely see why it's geared towards a younger audience. It is very direct, and descriptively simplistic. It allows much room for imagination.

So in this world the reason humans have no idea that dragons are intelligent is because they are under a spell.
Naturally I just assumed it was because humans are stupid. But perhaps they aren't as stupid as they want me to think they are.

So Caden's mysterious benefactor is a black dragon, traditionally the most murderous and psychotic of all the chromatic dragons. Our boy's 0/3 at picking overlords. Still, she has at least shown some care for her minions. I hope Caden can mellow her out enough to confine her wrath to the parties that deserve it. There are few enough dragons as it is, and it would be a shame if they end up having to kill her. It would be novel to show a dragon changing alignment, since most stories have them born good or evil and sticking to it like a robot.

@@RichardFierceWrites He didn't exactly pick the previous one either, although it did happen to be what he thought he wanted.
Miss Black is a very interesting character. Her dialogue has had lots of subtle tells that she wasn't a super nice person; she was using a style of speaking commonly reserved for badguys. She clearly has a lot of anger, but under the circumstances, that's completely understandable. (Side note: "I have to be the one to kill him" is always a bad plan :p)
It seems like the protagonists don't really have a lot to offer when it comes to dealing with all these lords that steal power from their armies. On the other hand, with the two leads each ingratiating themselves to opposite sides of the division between the dragons, they might have a good chance of finding a way to heal the ancient rift between the metallic and chromatic dragons. That would be a lovely way to end this series, and likely the best possible outcome for everyone we care about.

Really enjoying the books but I get really annoyed when people "fire" arrows. You fire guns, no one would have used the term firing arrows prior to the invention of guns. Shoot or loose but don't fire. This is such a common mistake in fantasy and historical books and films - and is logically irritating. Please can I request you consider this in future writing.

Really? This book is wonderful and the timeline is imaginary. Magicians also throw fire from their hands; so who’s to say if “fire” is relevant. My day was uplifted for well over 2 hours.
