    Excellent presentation. Thank you! Just bought a 640 that I bought at auction with low hours but condition was unknown. Was using with poly and lacquer and there was paint loaded on the intake tube and a little on the house but the fluid body had no wear no rust. LCD and controls worked and no paint blow through behind the front cover. Video will help me when I get it hooked up to a hose and gun. Paid only 65 dollars which is unbelievable. I asked my local dealer how to clean paint from the housing, cart etc without damaging the plastic - they said nothing. Found out you can use a pressure steamer. I'll upload a picture - no damage, takes a little while but the machine now looks brand new - not kidding. Paint blasted right off chrome frame, cord, housing etc. My machine looked similar to the one in the video - maybe cleaner.

    I have the 440 impact and left suction and prime hose submerged in latex primer , depressurized, took spray tip and guard off and cleaned . I planed on getting back to it the next morning , anyway it stayed that way for 5-6 days ... Not sure if I should swap hoses before attempting to clean it, dont have much experience with sprayers should I first just put my suction hose in warm water and prime the paint out of the pump and then switch back to spray and keep flushing and checking the filters. I was just having a bad day in the rain and wanted out of there. wish I would at least spent 5-10 minutes cleaning it before I left. don't really want use laquer thinner in it. Thanks

      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 года назад +2

      Pull the pickup tube off and flush it clean first. Will make it easier to prime the machine.
      Once it is clean reattach the hose. Check the end of the prime hose to make sure it has not dried closed. Clear it if it has.
      Pull the pressure hose off and put the pick up in warm soapy water. Start the maching on low pressure.
      Hold a small container at the pressure hose connection to catch the fluid.
      Let it run a gallon through.
      Attach the pressure hose and flush the whole system.

    Hi Brian, nice video and deduction of what the actual problem is. I started working at a Titan authorized service center a couple of months ago as a Titan tech, but we just started accepting Graco pumps for repair too, so I've been binging your Graco videos trying to learn how they differ. I just had a Graco 695 Ultra Max come through my shop with the same symptoms as this 440, and the transducer was the culprit. These machines seem pretty straightforward mechanically, but is there any advice you would give to someone who is new to this?
    Also, what do you do with the paint infused testing water? Let it evaporate and use kitty litter to suck up the paint that gets left on the bottom?
    Thanks for making these videos, very helpful.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Год назад

      If you would like, Graco has a training facility. The classes are free of I remember. I believe you pay to get there and you room. They pay for meals and the classes.
      I use my gun and hose with pressure gauge. This limits the amount of paint since I am not using the customers hose.
      I reuse my water a few times. Once I feel I have reached the limit I pour it on a combination litter and cardboard. Once it dries it is disposed of.
      My advice. 2 things.
      1. You never know it all. 32 years, and a learn something new pretty regular.
      2. Listen to the customer when they describe the problem. Don't just wait for them to stop talking so you can jump in to the repair.

    Hi Brian, how many types of Transducer are there for the TITAN 440i?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 года назад +1

      The Titan 440i uses transducer 704-251. It is mounted in a larger base. It is placed in the block seat and when the block is reattached to the machine, it is compressed back down

      @@EnriqueJavierRodzRodz yes, that is what I have explained. It is compressed into the block. To remove it, pull the cover, remove the block. There is a small setscrew behind the cover in the gear housing that needs to be removed for the transducer to drop down.

    Hi, just a quick random question, my titan 440 leaks oil, its only a year old, I've stopped filling the reservoir up because it just drips straight out, is there something I could do at home to fix it, or have you made a video on this issue I could watch

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Год назад +1

      The oiler is pretty simple. There is a leak in the reservoir or the valve has a leak. Simple solution would be to replace the front cover or just remove the cover and add oil directly to the piston occasionally

      I cannot get direct access to the international Titan equipment. Looking at what little information I have access to, it appears the 560e is very similar to the 440 Impact and 540 Impact. It may use all the same mechanical parts, but the electronics may be slightly different. Exactly what parts are you needing?

    How you know when is sensor demage or packing’s ‘? Thanks

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Год назад +1

      32 years of experience helps. Absent of that, packings will usually cause the machine to continue running with no real increase in pressure.
      Bad "sensor" will do one of 2 things.
      1 machine will keep running and build excessive pressure.
      2. Machine will run and then stop running but you have low pressure.
      These are not always true, but pretty common

    Whenever I see a pump being banged up like that I think that the inlet tube has rusted paint particles coming loose constantly and interfering with the inlet ball at times. That issue needs to be addressed too. Pain in the butt.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 года назад
