What an excellent video, thank you very much Should you take any of these parts apart, just to clean it out once or twice a year? I just cleaned out some of the fittings that went to the filter manifold, and they had a lot of layers of elastomeric paint on them. Maybe half of their diameter clogged. And I know the guns get a ton of particulate stuck in them (both in the handle filter, and in the nozzle area) I'm wondering if the pump area also collects paint, and it's worth trying to clean it And I think another video said maybe it's a good idea to grease some areas of the piston But maybe it's likely that you'll damage the seals, and it's better to leave it alone until it fails

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy

@@honeyforce996 I do not recommend taking the pump apart for cleaning. Once apart, new packings should be installed. No matter the wear on them. Would be like taking a piston out of an engine and putting the piston back in with the rings. No recommended. To do a thorough internal cleaning, pump the machine full of lacquer thinner and allow the system to stay full for a couple days then pump it out. Lacquer thinner is highly flammable. I was was using my ultra max 695 today hammering out some soffits with a thin primer as we do all the time with this machine it gave a reaction like it wasn’t enough power and then worked at a low pressure then cut out as the digi box is kaput there are no code signals. After about 20 mins of not running I fired it up again I used it for about 1 hour then it done it again it seems like it could be over heating somehow I’ll check under the cowling and fan tomorrow. Any one have any ideas.

@@GRUMPYHARRY1 depending on which series of 695, it could be overheating which would be motor replacement or the thermistor is going bad. That measures the temps. If it is going bad, the wrong temps will be measured. The thermistor is located in the motor by following the 2 yellow wires
