  • Pressure washer pump is overheating. A bad unloader is the cause. Lets take the unloader apart and see what has happened

How hot do these pumps typically run and what temps start to indicate a problem with them?

@@KB-ie7jr the pump should not be hot to the touch, very warm ok. If you don't have a thermal valve, put one on. If you do, replace them every couple years. Corrosion will prevent them from working properly

@@Brian_the_repair_guy Wow, thanks for the heads-up on the thermal valve! I had no idea they corrode. As far as I know, mine still works, though I rarely let it get to the point where it needs to, so who knows. Either way, looks like it's gettin replaced now.

Do you have or can you make a video on how to get a unloaded to return water back to the tank when not pulling the trigger. I own a Mobile Detailing business and would like to be able to let the pressure washer run without worrying about over heating it. Thanks

Find me on Facebook. Same name. I will be able to explain it much easier there.

What if you don’t have an unloader? My Simpson 3200 just burned a hole through my hose. Not sure I should turn it back on
