Hi Brian.. Love your tips and detailed insight. I've got 3 Graco sprayers. 30y 390 - 495 and 695 and fix them myself. The 695 was bought used. Got it for a good price as it was totally drenched in paint, the top layer was a red color, oil based paint after it was used to paint a barn I think. There where hardly a spot of metal or blue to be seen on the machine housing or hose.
Took a big brush and covered everything with gel paintstripper, the hose, wheels, everything. Was careful not to leave it on the machinehouse for too long and eat into the Graco factory paint.
Toothbrush and scrapers etc.. Took it to the guy who sold it to me a few days later. He stood there gasping, it looked brand new. New seals and packings. Seeing some of the machines you work on, I wonder what the hell these people are doing. They have 15m of hose but It looks like the sprayer is 2m away from the substrate they Spray Mist from 1m away? I don't know ;-)
I mean If you know it will be messy. I'll put some WD40 on and wipe it off afterwards, I cover the machine housing and move it further away. And I clean up when I'm finished 🙂

      @@nodeal7337 thanks for watching.
After 32 years of preparing this equipment, I have stopped asking how guys get their equipment get to such a state.
There are a number of things you can do to prevent this as you pointed out. It never seems to set in the minds of many of the painters. I explain how it benefits them to keep their equipment clean and they make their choices from there
The purchase of a sprayer seems pricey at time of purchase but the money you can make quickly clouds that cost in their minds.
      Thanks again for watching

Im having the same problem on a 1095. I’ve tried replacing just the cap but still leaks when the pump starts to build pressure. Any other things i could try other than replacing the whole filter housing ?

@@AlbertoCastillo-tg7ci if you have replaced the cap and Oring and the leak continues, try tightening a bit more. If it continues you have to replace the while housing
