    Hey brian I learned alot from your video thank you for sharing this also I wanted to ask I was given two of these pumps and one I managed to get working again how ever the second one the piston rod has slight pitting and a small factory bump or very small would it be one to reuse this pump gave up the ghost and the previous owner let the paint sit in it for a very long time

      If the machine is running, I would suggest replacing the piston and packings. That should cover it. Only other real concern would be a bad transducer

    I have a 440i I bought around 2006... I've used it very little and was getting ready to use it recently. As it starts to build pressure, and is almost ready to stop, it starts leaking air. I think it's coming from the prime/spray valve, but not sure. Is there any way to tell if it is the piston packing or the valve?

    I just repacked mine and its leaking from the top
    I bought the titan packing kit
    And bought a piston off amazon.
    I did notice that the amazon piston is hollow on the bottom. The bolt that holds the little ball etc is tighten all the way in the piston so its not flush with the bottom. Can that be the problem? I did replace the plastic ring that goes on the piston guide but it wasnt sitting tight.

      @@juansuarez185 if it is leaking from the top, then most likely the upper packing was damaged when inserting the piston

    Its extrmeley ez to do this. Its one of those things that if you are even somewhat inclined mechanically go ahead and take care of yourself. But if your just one of those guys forwhatecer reason then yea take it in. But its similar to replacing brake pads on a vehicle. Its not hard, parts arent expensive and imo you shoupd understand how your equipment works and be able to diagnose and fix them for the most part if you have the time. Repacking a titan if you have the parts doesnt take more than 15mins.

    Hey Brian, my 440i always runs, it never shuts off. Does that mean it isn't building pressure? I just finished repacking it and it still just constantly runs. any other ideas on how to fix it?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 года назад

      If the machine is running and not building pressure, then there is a problem with the packings or the upper or lower ball.

    My titan 440 started leaking oil from the pump, do you know why this is happening?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Год назад

      440 only has oil for the piston. No oil anywhere else. The oil is either over full or the reservoir is cracked. Drain the reservoir and fill directly at the piston.

    • @fletcher-nf4pn
      @fletcher-nf4pn Год назад

      @@Brian_the_repair_guy thanks, mines a 440 impact so can't oil it at the piston, it's just the top bit where you have to unscrew the red cap n pour in the top

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Год назад +1

      @@fletcher-nf4pn you can oil it at the piston. Remove the 4 screws on the black cover to get access.
      The impact series will eventually leak from the reservoir.
      Also, the machine does not need to be oiled frequently. 2 or 3 pushes every few months. If you do it more than that, the oil cup over flows. The cup holds about 6 drops total.

    Is the rebuild on a Titan 400 the same as the 440? Can a gun drip due to worn packings?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Год назад

      If you are referring to the Titan Advantage 400 the answer is yes. The Titan impact 400 is no. That is a different process.

    Good afternoon Brian, I have a problem with a titan 640, the fuse burned and I replaced it and it also burned again, what could be the problem?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 года назад

      Unplug the wires from the motor to the computer board and replace the fuse. Turn the machine on. The motor will not turn, but see what happens to the fuse. If the fuse does not blow, then you have a motor problem. If you have an impact, you will need a new motor. If the machine is older than the Impact series, pull the brushes out of the motor and see what their condition is.

    Hi there, I’m working on my titan 740i low boy. How hard is to remove the lower cage and ball from the fluid section?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 года назад

      It can be difficult if it has not been removed in a long time. The easiest way to rem ok very it is pushing on the seat from the bottom or inlet side. DO NOT push in the ball itself. When you flip it over, you will see a small ring that is slightly smaller than the inlet hole. Take a large punch or flat head screw driver and place it on the smaller ring. It should not touch the ball. Tap the punch with a hammer to push the seat, cage and ball out.
