- This week we look WiFi kits from Hikvision.
These kits come with either 4 or 8 bullet or dome cameras, an NVR with pre-installed 1TB HDD, PSU’s and a HDMI cable. Cameras are 4MP, have built in audio, a range of up to 50 meters (dependant on environment) and are IP66 rated.
This is a quick and easy kit! When installed and turned on, the cameras auto-connect and can be deployed in minutes making this a rapid deployment solution for small property installation. We hope you enjoy the video. Feel free to ask any questions.

Very informative! Thanks!
nice video! I love using my Hikvision cameras together with Xeoma software, everything works just perfect
Thanks for watching 😀
Thank you for the informative demonstration!
Thanks Kenny
If you want to impress your audience with a wireless system , perhaps redo this demo with the cameras transmitting through actual walls , drywall and or concrete walls. of course it's gonna work when it's setup in the same room. Now put it to the test and show your fellow techs how it does when installed through a couple of walls
6m same room not run perfectly i wish its 1 cam /4
I couldn't get past the guy beating the box like a drum.
Why?
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the Video. Very Useful.
Please upload the Videos for Joystick/Keyboards. (1105Ki, 1006ki, 1200Ki, 1100Ki etc.)
works perfectly with my Xeoma software
HELLO DAVE
hoping your in a good health.
I do appreciate your fine explaining video and I really enjoyed watching it 2 the end.
Q.u mention that wireless is not good as well as a wired one , Is there an effect with time on the cameras because we r living in a hot weather like Middle east 45c🤪👀 .
God bless mate and good luck 🌹🙏
Hi and thank you for your kind words, in short the Wi-Fi cameras do work but can be effected by environment issue like weather, or by building material like metal , etc and other RF devices , whereas cabled devices do not see the same kind of issue , so if you can cable this it would be better but of course its not always possible , these kits generally perform very well so should not give you to much trouble
Great video understand
Thank you! We were wondering if the Hikvision came in a kit. Their night color camera is superior to any other camera we've seen.
Thanks for the feedback , and only the Wi-Fi comes as the kit that we sell , but many sellers do offer kits to the customer base which makes it easier , 😊
Tq for the knowledge.
Hi there. I have the hik vision wi fi with 4 cameras.the nvr is in the room next to the tv and all 4 cameras work excellent.my internet is superb ..all 4 cameras work great day and night. The problem is the hik connect app.3 of the cameras work great but the camera behind the house won.t open the video It fluctuates between 75 and even 99% but just doesn.t make the 100% It tries then error code comes up. I.ve tried rebooting .unplugging but still the same.Driving me nuts.It worked at the beginning. As I said all4 cameras work great in the room.but that one camera doesn.t show anybodys app in the house
great video thanks.
Thanks for watching!
can you set up the cameras using hotspot, and not wifi?
is the nvr box wireless instead of using the lan wired connection is that box wireless to just hook it with wifi
Hi , the NVR has wifi in it to receive cameras but you can adhoc it onto another Wi-Fi existing connection in the network setup , but it may effect the performance of the cameras using it for both
NICE VID man! I have a question . this wifi camera have built in microphone ?
Thanks and yes it includes a Mic 😊
Hi Dave, very useful video as always. I have a question I hope you can answer. At around 13:40 in the video you show network traffic. It shows WiFi at around 8200Kbps. I have a DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR. When I go into Net Detect, my net traffic via LAN connection NOT a WiFi is showing around 64Kbps, and never seems to go above that number. I have 3 cameras on the NVR. These are 2 x DS-2DE4A204IW-DE Night Fighter PTZ cameras and 1 x DS-2DE4A320IW-DE 20x Optical PTZ. Is my setup wrong. I would have thought net work traffic would have been a lot higher. I did set up this system myself, so I may have some settings wrong most likely. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Best of the New Year to you as well.
Thanks for this video. Is it possible disable blinking blue light on this HIK camera and how?
Best regards bro
Hi and thanks, yes on the Turbo HQHI-K & HUHI-K and latest HIK-Connect app you can disable the sound and light from the App , there will be a bell icon next to the device which arms and disarms this function, also the IDS-(B) model DVR supports this , make sure latest HIK-Connect app is downloaded and firmware on DVR is latest 😊
@@DVSLTD I now use this wifi cameras without NVR. Record on microSD for now.

Hi Brilliant video. Wondering before purchasing is it possible to use your home Wi-fi routers as a kind of booster slash extra antennas to pick the signal up and send it back to the nvr through the network & would this be possible thought the network bridging part of the menu.
Hi , the cameras are designed to connect out of the box to the NVR SSID , you could login to the cameras needed and added to SSID of the home router and then add to the NVR via the LAN Connection if needed, the Adhoc connection on the NVR allows you to connect to a broadband wifi connection for app use , but you could use it I support to bring cameras in , not tested it that way to be honest
@@DVSLTD Appreciate the reply, trying to figure out if Wi-fi signal from the Nvr to the cameras is really poor or is unable to receive the Wi-fi signal due to the environment is there a way of using your Wi-fi routers to connect to the cameras, thinking that would completely sort out any Wi-fi signal issues then send it back through the routers and Ethernet switch’s to the Nvr would this be possible buy connecting the cameras directly to the router as if you didn’t have an nvr then adding them to the box or due to the box being Wi-fi would it try to take them of the router and place them directly back on to the nvr s Wi-fi.
Box meaning NVR 🤦🏻♂️
If nvr on ground floor and wifi camera on 2 nd floor aprox 25 ft still it work or not .
Yes its within the 50mtrs max , but environment can effect the signal like any RF
Do the wifi cameras work on any Wifi SSID ? or do they only work by connecting direct to the NVR wifi ?
The kit is pre-programmed for the kit but the camera can be changed to talk to any SSID in reality
@@DVSLTD Thanks, So can wifi cams connect to any WIFI SSID on the same network as the NVR and connect to any NVR ? or does the NVR have to be a special one ?

OnceI switch from Wifi network to Mobile Internet, How can I view my wifi camera?
you need to add the NVR to the HIK-connect device as the hik-connect adding method then it will work on both 😊
Great info. I am eager to buy this 4cam kit can you please mention the model num of this kit so that I can place an order.

Is it possible to connect wifi cameras using the LAN?
I followed your instruction but the IP camera is always inactive. Do I need to use LAN in the NVR..? Thank you.
Can i connect the nvr wirelessly on my network ?
Yes it does allow it
Do I have to connect a router for this to work and can a WiFi extender be used to boost signal
Hi you have to connect it to a router for the app to work , but not the cameras , the wifi extenders would probably work , I have not tested them with this specifically but it’s the same principle 😊
Hi, can you explain me what means the yellow triangular symbol in down left corner ?
this is an event warning, generally the motion or VCA detection. Or it could be a exception like HDD issue, network issue etc.
Sir, my camera is not connecting automatically to the nvr we have same unit. Can you help I've been working on this for 5hours. I restored it to factory settings several times.
Hi , in this case please login to the camera web interface and under configuration and network look for the wireless setting, search for the NVR SSID normally serial number and connect to that network , it should then come on but you may then need to go into the ~NVR camera tab and search for the camera and add it in , 😊
@@DVSLTD Alright Sir I will do it after i get home and check. Thank you so much
Hi, great video! How far back does the playback go?
Thanks , depends on if constant or motion record so 7-21 days really
Thanks for the video! I have a question can you help me? I installed this kit, but I am having some problems. 3 cameras are connected to an access point but they are slowing down the speed of the internet from the devices that are connected to the same AP almost to 0. Then I installed another AP just for the cameras and it is also affecting the devices which are connected to the other AP. I dont know how to fix this error. The speed of the internet is 150 Mbps it should not be a problem.
Hi , so the new AP that is connected just for the cameras is on a different Frequency and channel than the existing AP, IE there not causing the interference ?, the new AP does this wire into the router then or direct into the LAN port of the wi-fi NVR ? , you could try fitting a small 4 port non poe switch at the NVR then wire the new AP into this , the LAN of the NVR and the connection to the Router , the traffic should then go into the NVR primarily and not through the router causing this to slow down
looking for poe box to power all wifi cameras. POE NVR for wifi would be great. Saves from runmng power supplies for each wifi cam.
Hi, does the NVR connect to network wirelessly or need ethernet cable?
Please use the ethernet cable for this side , it’s the most stable
how do the Cameras communicate with the receiver? is that via wifi or do they communicate through their own wireless signal?
They talk to the NVR built in WiFi direct yes 😊
Is there a way to disable the WiFi from the NVR i am trying to connect the cameras to the homes Access Points and if my router is restarted it auto reconnects to the nvrs network and then the cameras go offline. Any help would be appreciated
you can login to the NVR and under the SSID change / disable this on the NVR web page, you will then need to login to each IP camera via the LAN port of the camera, and under its web page and configuration , you can then choose the new SSID you want the camera to connect to 😊
Great video mate, looking at installing one of these kits for a client as routing cabling is a no-no - how much footage can be stored from a 1TB HDD with all 4 x camera's on continuos at around 14fps?
using H.265+ then around 15 days @15FPS , you can change the HDD to a larger size if needed mind , but will cost the extra of course
Hi with this camera can u cut the network connector off? And tape over. Im thinking this is no problem...As i won’t be using it... WiFi and 12v power only. I will be drilling through an external wall for power source, and it would make the hole smaller and easier to feed through if I could cut.
Also I have added the WiFi camera to an existing system.... (nvr with network wired cameras)... I did this by adding the camera thru the hik connect app. Nice and easy. However it won’t allow me to configure thru the nvr, I can’t remotely login to the camera, and when going thru IP address it doesn’t recognise any user/password or prompt me to set a new one up. Any ideas
Hi , personally I wouldn’t as it would void the warranty but you can technically do that yes and tape it up and make sure nothing shorts out
Please, dear, how to add the cameras normally, since DVR can not find the cameras
For tv screen and connecting cameras to nvr no need internet connection in nvr?
Correct , internet is for App connection

Hey , not technicaly as you can add those cameras to a dedicated wife router or any wifi router , and if the hardwired NVR is plugged into the network as normal you can add the cameras like normal , just assign the Wi-Fi cameras static IP address to match the scheme and they will be more sable, I hope this helps 😊

In most instances cabling will always be preferred and perform better of course, this solution will satisfy a small number of situations most likely , or rapid deployment situations where a very quick / temporary solution is required, or where no cabling is allowed but mains is close by to a camera position

what type of NVR we used to be?
The WIFI nvr comes inside the kit , you can use a standard NVR and add the wireless cameras to the Wifi Router and then to the NVR by IP address if really needed
Hi what's the range on the cameras to the nvr ?
it is up to 50mtrs , this will be dependent on installation environment and building layout and material , as well as external factors like 3rd party RF systems 😀
sir, how do extend its range using a repeater
if using a Wi-Fi extender , you normally replicate the main one , but it may not be that good , not tried myself , I would put a high powered unit in the location and wire this back to the LAN port of the NVR , you can then login to the cameras using a laptop connected to the network port and change the wifi connection to the new Wifi unit , that would be better

We can only sell into the UK via trade account sorry
Does it lag
SUPREEEEEME! have you see the Velvet Underground release for this Thursday?
It can , as its wireless it can be effected by outside RF , or just be range issue , but they can work well if installed within range 😊

I door range ?
how far can you setup the cameras?
up to 50 meters (dependant on environment)
Where to buy this???
what if i didn't use the NVR? only SD card?
You can use the Wifi camera with SD card and record to this, then add the Wifi camera to the local Wifi Router and add to mobile via normal method
Mine is not showing the cameras. May be some technical issue
They should work out of the box, suggest turning all devices off , and moving 1 camera close by and seeing if 1 camera connects individually
