I got away from clothing years ago, switched to hard goods the mostly then over to Etsy with collectibles and I am so much happier
@@joni5571 do you think it’s because you enjoy hard goods more or is it easier to sell?
@@IisaStevens easier to sell, I never get returns, and I like shopping for and looking at them,
I will say you look more rested even though your trip was so busy. I can tell you got some sun. Glad you had a good trip and a safe trip.
@@maryarwood8942 thank you!
I quit Ebay around march. we had a return that took over 2 weeks because of the post office. We just move to a different state around new years. I came down sick and was just burnt out. For me ebay was too much work with the low profits I was making. Last year everyone was blaming poor search results for poor sales. promoted listing rates keep getting higher just to make sales. I was spending too much time and energy taking photos and getting the listing done. I couldn't get past 3 to 5 listings a day. I felt burnt out just taking photos and sometimes the listings. the amount of work I was doing didn't equal at least min wage per hour. when I couldn't get my net profits above 300 to 500 a month is when I realized I was wasting my time with ebay.
Hi Lisa, first I'm so sorry to hear about the accident, I hope you are feeling ok. I've been in a couple in my lifetime and I'm still dealing with the fall out with my back. Moral of that story...be sure to be seeing your chiropractor or Doc for any pain anywhere after the accident.
As for the question you asked about, is running your on line store worth the time you are putting into it? Well the only one of course who can really answer that is you, however I will share some thoughts. If it were me I would look at what I make per hour, or day on avg in your other job (selling insurance I think). My understanding is this is the kind of business that the longer you're at it, the higher your sales are, theoretically. If it were me when you reach the point where you are making 2 x more at the insurance job then you are averaging with your reselling I would likely pause the reselling and go full time at the insurance and just give it your all. If it turns out that you can indeed make 2-3 or more x more selling insurance then after a few months I would consider shifting your energies into that. I do understand that there are things to consider such as all the time, money and energy you have invested into the resell business and the resell business is working for yourself, you make your own hours etc. Working for yourself means you have a more flexibility to be with your children etc. During my career I had man y choices to make many twists and turns along the way, I made those decision based on how the choice I made would impact my short and long term goals, which of course changed over the course of 37 years in business. So for example if a top long term goal is to let's say take a family trip, buy a new car, or one day buy your own home or rent a house/ apt then I would calculate what do I have to make / mos to achieve that goal. Then I would set that as a long term goal and every decision that I faced I worked to that goal. Conversely if one of your top long term goals is to be able to spend as much time as you can with your children, be there with them before and after school, be able to take time off for trips etc when you want too, then that would be what I would keep in mind when making my decisions.
As for your reselling business and what would you do with all the inventory if you made a decision to put all your energy into insurance. Well I would do some research on what have others done when they have made the same decisions, learning they have from whatever they chose to do. I think I would be inclined to try and find a buyer who would buy it all, and/or, I'd sell in in very large lots to resellers. I know resellers buy whole containers or goods or many pallets at a time so this would lead me to believe there would be a market out there who would buy it in pretty big quantities. Of course you are not going to make what you would make if you sold it yourself but I would set a goal of what you would ideally like to make from your entire inventory and work towards hitting that goal. From the things you've mentioned along the last few years it seems like if you were to just stop sourcing and just tried to manage the shipping out of items sold and let your store just coast along while you put your energies into the insurance business, it sounds like if you are not constantly sharing your closet, listing new items etc, sales can drop off quickly. If that is the case, if I made the decision to end that business then I would do everything I could to really end it so that you are tempted to be pulled back in and begin to fracture your time and energy again.
These are just some things that I would likely consider if I were in the situation you are in. Hope you are feeling better from the car accident.
Hugs - Vave❤
I always watch your Channel but never comment, I am one of those silent supporters 😂!!! But today i need to because I am in the same boat, when you said i want to sell all my stuff, I have thought about it so much, i do it as a side hustle but do have my business as an LLC, and just like you I say to myself nope you have spent so much money time and effort so you will make it wotk.. But what i do is take 2 days completely off.. just do shipping and that is it, it helps me reset physically and more importantly mentally to start again fresh😊
Thanks for the comment! Gosh I should do that. I work every single day and it definitely burns me out. Last night I was working until 10:30 and I still didn’t finish what I wanted to get done for the night. I definitely need to figure out a balance
I am in he same boat. I started FLYP a while ago and well they glitch and in 1 week it did not delist my items and I sold an item on ebay at the same time as mercari and this happened 3x in 1 week where it did not delist when after I hit sold. I went from TOP rated seller to below standard. I just sold another item yesterday and I cant find it, this one is on me but I have not had any sales and Ebay is going to boot me. I have had such a good standing and in 1 week Ebay punishes me for a couple items. Its not fair really
Hi, about the spanx bodysuits could you not list it as a top and not in the underwear section?
When you list as a top the have a drop down menu to specify what kind of top including bodysuits and they only allow new for bodysuits
