Another thing is that Dream Theater's epics are divided into movements that can sometimes feel disconnected, whereas Periphery's feel like one cohesive song. That's what I love about Periphery; they manage to make long and drawn out songs that don't _feel_ that way. They are masterful songwriters, and masterful musicians (though they won't ever admit to that lol)
