Why do they condition us to hate poetry? This girl should be online crazy famous for her work, especially after Somewhere in America and same about Belissa and Zariya. Yo, if you're reading this Rhiannon, you and your friends are the baddest of the bad. Keep it real!

Because it's weird. It can be entertaining but the messages are usually poor. Fail-safe artforms are wack. If someone criticizes it they will say you didn't "understand" it. Sounds petty.

crazymusicalgoof7 i agree. ann has gotten me through so much, and i've been trying to share her with so many people but they just overlook her because shes " just a poet ". like... can you not ?

I honest to God love all her poems my absolute favorite is Art Class. Being it was so personal it meant so much to her and she really felt that obviously. I'm a poet in training and she is my inspiration. Rhiannon if you ever read this I love you and keep your chin up your poetry is amazing.

    I AM A POET
You can not be a poet.
Do you write free verse? No.
I knew that I could show it.
Have you come out of the closet
Like Marilyn Hacker and Millay? No.
You can not be a poet.
Are you gay and proud of it
    Like Ginsberg and Whitman? No.
I knew that I could show it.
Do you smoke pot and inhale it?
Are you a drug addict or an alcoholic? No.
You can not be a poet.
Are you suicidal and love to flaunt it?
Have you been married more than once? No.
I knew that I could show it.
Do you hate war and protest it?
Do you swear that you are an atheist? No.
You can not be a poet.
I knew that I could show it.
Note: I am a conservative poet.
