Of course there is such a thing as "them and us". Your voice, your sense of rhythm and other such factors are biological. And just like not everybody can become an olimpic gold athlete. Not everybody can become an amazing singer. You can train, practice and improve sure. But the things your gene pool gave you definitely play a large role.

This is crazy little story ? I am a church goer, I always enjoyed singing, but no one complimented me that I remember in a TRUE meaningful way, here I am 64, this church I go to say positive things and enjoy me singing ? I’m not sure at my age if anything can come out of my singing, but I found this beautiful song/ words that describe something I went through ( priceless jewel ) that happened to me durning the lost of husband in 2016. Now I would love to sing in church, because of the words would b from my heart of hearts. This would b a once in lifetime dream, thank you all whom can help ! To God be the glory

I'm not sure my trouble is mucous. I've been dealing with this issue since I had covid last year in that I'll be singing and suddenly it's like there's this "collapse" happening and the sound turns from perfect to cracked and hoarse and I can't even place a pitch unless I cough or clear my throat. Then, it feels like things "reset" and I'm good to sing again. Sometimes I can feel it coming on, but other times it'll just suddenly happen in the middle of a song. If I can't remedy it on my own I'm going to have to see an ENT to figure out what is happening.

Hi, new subscriber here and I'm from the Philippines. Thank you very much for this post. Throat problem, soar throat and phlegm my number one problem whenever I start singing. By the way I'm already 57 years old but way back 15 yrs ago I haven't experienced this type of problem especialy when I was still on my twenties I use to sing every night since singing was my bread and butter. I feel sad and frustrated now because the moment I start singing I will suffer a soar throat, so ichy (my throat) I don't know why.

I’ve been singing pretty much all throughout my life. But I also have asthma so my medicines mess with my voice. I just saw an ENT back in November and my voice was alright. They said my voice box was a little irritated but it wasn’t anything to worry about. Just to be careful and try not to over sing. I’ve been taking acid reflux medicine, doing vocal exercises in the shower, gargling warm salt ginger water and I guess I just do mixed messages with my voice because I also drink coffee in the morning. I’m gonna try to not drink coffee for a couple weeks and see how that goes. I know you shouldn’t clear your voice because it could damage your vocal chords, but I don’t know how else to get rid of the phlegm. I do it very hard because it just keeps coming back while I’m singing. I’m gonna try a new remedy that I just heard about from another video. But if that doesn’t work is there anything else I can try to reduce phlegm? I actually figured out myself that bananas also reduce some of the phlegm, but I think I need something a little bit more intense. Is there anything else I can try?

All of vocal exercises are set up for all voice ranges, and octaves, so the idea is to jump in at a comfortable level and jump out once it’s comfortably high, and then catch it (fast forward it) on the way back down and do the same.

im all the way in...I have an issue with my voice that im not sure is an issue ? lol... falsetto .. I've watched your video on this ,as well as everyone elses. though you're the first I've asked in comment.. started seriously doing lessons about 9 months ago after years of in correctly singing and performing.when dec icing to really be a vocalist as well I discovered that the falsetto range I used to take for granted was drastically inhibited leading me to think my voice was damaged.. not sure if that's the case but it fits and it doesn't when researching it.. after 9 months I can do the ooooo,s and a good amount of ahhhhh 's and eeee's but iiii's are out of the question. the progress has given me hope and steered me away from the "damage" camp but I have no idea what im doin essentially so... question; is this normal to lose a falsetto? iif so why was it so easily attainable in my 20's early 30's when I couldn't really sing? definitive way to. determine if I need to heal and solution for such..[doctor and surgery not option due to costs and insurance restrictions].. hope you cAN HELP. no one I feel has quite hit the issue correctly
