What a great intro video! My husband passed away from cancer a few years ago and I have been slowly going through his stuff. I came across his single and dual action Iwata & Badger air guns. I think the compressor has seen better days and the Createx inks have dried so I ordered some supplies from amazon. Once I have a full setup I will be referring to your videos. So thanks again from a beginner :)
That is a great video for anybody who already paints or a beginner wanting to paint with an airbrush. Seeing how easy Scott makes the drills look reminds me that I need to practice basic drills more frequently 🤣. Thanks Scott and Createx Colors.
Thank You! Moving from interior decorator painting (HVLP, brush n roller) to airbrush, you just corrected a lot of things I was doing wrong. But some tips I can pass along. For a long horizontal stroke, lock wrist and elbow and work from the shoulder. Everything else seems to be in the wrist, like the man said. SO is anyone else strapping their airline to their forearm? One of things I found as a rookie airbrusher is that the damn thing was always getting in my way, and sometimes pulling against my stroke. Just for me, moving from an HVLP to an airbrush was easier with a cup gun, but I am looking forward to my first gravity feed. Shoot Well!
Another great lesson. This is exactly what I was looking for, drills. I'd hate to price my way out of quality education but, these lessons should be expensive. Scott knocks it out of the park again. Thank you, Scott; you're saving me money and time. Now, if you would excuse me, I have drills to work on.
Thanks Scott best tutorial on the internet, I've committed to 48 large rolls of paper towels and hopefully not to long of a time to perfect my lettering it has been my week point way to long, I'm going to conquer it or else really holding me back, thank you so very much.
Hi Scott MacKay You mentioned that you are using the iwata eclipse cs airbrush, which needle has the airbrush. Thanks P.D. I see you used that 5 mm needle. Very thanks for this video. I am learning to use Createx Colors paints
I just found your channel and getting ready to start airbrushing; so THANK YOU for this tutorial. It is very comprehensive, the most detailed instructions I've seen yet. Oh, yes I'm now sub'd.
Thanks brotha! I just started using my first basic airbrush and it was clogging up and spitting paint and now I think it’s because I turn the air off before the needle retracts :) I needed to hear that thanks again and stay safe!
To protect the customized t-shirt, after the paint has dried, heat set the paint, which makes the paint washfast, meaning it will not lose color when washed (avoid bleach detergent). For additional protection, a light coat of two of either Createx 5603 Matte Top Coat or 5604 Gloss Top Coat help protect against scratches, etc. For more, please refer to our t-shirt and flexible substrate application guide available at www.creatextech.com. Thank you.
Hello and thank you very much for posting your video(s). I find them very helpful. I am hoping you could help me with a couple of questions. I have a smaller antique safe that was my grandfathers. The paint is badly worn off. I will be sanding the entire safe and I plan on repainting it and adding a bit of art. I have NEVER used an airbrush! I would appreciate any suggestions for the following: 1) what BLACK colored paint product to spray the entire safe with once it is sanded to bare steel? 2) what paint product to use in my air sprayer? 3) what paint product to spray over the entire safe, in order to give it a clear coat as protection for the black paint and the artwork? Thank you very much in advance, it is appreciated!
1) start with 6002 AutoBorne Sealer Black as the black base color, 2) Wicked colors is a good paint choice for the airbrush colors, 3) top-coat with either a catalyzed, urethane clear or UVLS Clears, www.uvlsclears.com. Thank you.
Our videos on how-to clean your airbrush and how-to thin Createx paints for airbrush may be helpful, ruclips.net/video/mvkpq0CAYII/видео.html. Also, keeping the air on while painting, pulling back for paint, but keeping trigger pressed down to keep air flowing, helps not only eliminate tip-dry but keep the paint flowing while painting. Thank you.
PS lol I am going to use my airbrush for painting styrene models so I don't know how much any of this will apply to that but I'm hoping learning that muscle memory will help me
We use a Flexilla 10-HP, 120 gallon, 2-stage air compressor puts out 40 CFM as shown in our spray-facility tour video, ruclips.net/video/NekPfIhw9nU/видео.html. Thank you.
I'm an artist and I was told by my airbrushing dad lol tha airbrushing is way easier than drawing or painting. And when I tried it I WAS HORRIBLE LOL. I spent over 1300 on airbrush equipment so I have to get this right 😅
Sorry if this is a stupid question, can I use my 30 gallon compressor with the regulator turned down to low psi? And thanks for the awsome vid man! Helped out a ton!
Yes, but you'll be much better off with an air regulator between the air compressor and airbrush so a constant air pressure can be maintained. Thank you.
I appreciate community/ peer educators. Yall are so kind and selfless
thank you!
Seriously the best explained tutorial I have found so far to start learning on
Thank you!
Agreed!

Hey, when it comes to customizing shirts. After you finish the design, do you need to put any kind of finisher on the shirt to protect it?
To protect the customized t-shirt, after the paint has dried, heat set the paint, which makes the paint washfast, meaning it will not lose color when washed (avoid bleach detergent). For additional protection, a light coat of two of either Createx 5603 Matte Top Coat or 5604 Gloss Top Coat help protect against scratches, etc. For more, please refer to our t-shirt and flexible substrate application guide available at www.creatextech.com. "So let's do another line here..."
NOW we're airbrushing!
im guessing air on air off is not the same as wax on wax off
More like; paint on, paint off.
Thats what she said...
