  • Testing my SJCAM GoPro clone either mounted to my Bike (on the handlebar) or strapped to my Helmet. One is jittery from the vibrations, the other is smooth but moves around a lot as I look in different directions. Which is better? You decide! Please let me know in the comments.

A chest strap would combine the best of both worlds but could be a bit cumbersome to use.

Thanks, I was looking for reviews. I agree the helmet mount is better because it's independent from the bike to record off bike incidents.

There is also less shaking and you can turn your head and capture other things as you drive by, just in case. Definitely helmet/head mount is way to go!

You get a less shaky video mounting on your head but then when you turn your head it is distracting to viewers. If you can mount to the bike with some kind of motion-stabilizer system it's best.

I haven't used my SJCAM for a while, I hope the batteries will still hold a charge. I bought an extra battery with mine to swap back and forth. Otherwise I need to run it plugged in... maybe ok for a short video or filming stuff at home (where I can plug-in). Surely there must be batteries online, they made so many SJCAM clones that I can't believe there are no batteries out there for them? Obviously the GoPro's are way better... I don't regret buying the SJCAM.... it was cheap enough to do what I needed at the time and let me decide if I really want a better camera or not, or wait.

Where is this city? Saskatchewan? Montana? There are 6 lanes for car traffic plus 30' of grass and empty space on the sides of the road and all they give pedestrians and cyclists is a broken little 3' wide sidewalk. At 2:08 there is an angled ramp with an arrow painted on the road pointed right at where a pedestrian would be on the sidewalk telling drivers not to stop but to plow full speed into whoever has the bad luck to be there.

Good guesses... but believe it or not, this is Vaughan, a suburb of Toronto. At Jane St and Rutherford Rd, heading eastbound on Rutherford Rd. Vaughan is a mess, roadways are a mess, always construction going on. Cycling is an after-thought, even pedestrians... You are expected to drive everywhere here.

This is an SJCAM 4000 but it was made a while ago (like 2-3 years). There are so many copies and clones now it is hard to tell what you are getting anymore.
