@TheTechne Bro I tried these all day yesterday testing them for various games and music and I’m disappointed It sounds amazing, that detailed planar magnetic sound is really amazing However, I don’t know if I’ve got a faulty one, but out of the box sound every time there’s strong bass I got that distorting crackling and even in COD MW3 every time I was shooting at an enemy and that strong sound you get when you kill an enemy it done the same thing. Even when reducing the bass it done the same thing and when you reduce bass even more it makes the sound rubbish anyway Is that what you got when listening to something with strong bass???

The movement of the ear pieces is normal and by design so they adjust to whatever head shape you might have. Some padding might have been nice, and as you recall they did ship with removable pads there. But I'm not sure with normal use it will be much of an issue. The note about the design being an issue if you're leaning back is a great observation that I didn't see mentioned in other reviews. I do lay on my pillow with my headset sometimes.
I've had the Audeze Mobius since their release (held together by tape these days), and I was hoping to pick up the Maxwell, but at $150, these are a fantastic value! I love Audeze Planar Magnetic!!
Go for the Audeze Maxwell you won't be dissaponted. Pulse Elite lacks a lot of bass. It could sound as clear as it wants but if the bass isn't there you won't be immersed if FPS or fast pace action is your cup of tea. Maxwell have amazing bass. I play call of duty exclusively and have yet to touch a single setting from when I pulled it out of the box. The signature sound is incredible. Footstep precision, perfect bass, and an inane amount of detail to ambient sounds
@@joshs3905 you’re probably right and in the long run it’s probably a better buy, but price is a factor. I’ll give them a spin when they arrive tomorrow (the Pulse Elite’s), and if I need to return them I can always do that.
Owned these but ended up buying the pulse explore for overall comfort, so I returned them. Came across a pair on mercari for $50 great condition and I couldn't resist.
Great review, I just ordered these just for the simple fact you can listen to RUclips and a game at the same time I thought that was pretty cool. I’ll be doing a review of these with a few other headphones I have at home and I’ll give the original Sony pulse I had for the PlayStation five away to one of my subscribers after the review. watching all of these great reviews gives me ideas on how to put together a better review myself.
After using my pulse elites for one week, I had to return them today. I was getting frequent disconnects. The only solution each time seemed to be unplugging the adapter, and restarting the console. If that wasn't bad enough, the voice to game chat balance was permanently greyed out so that I could not change it no matter what I tried. So disappointed with this headset. I went back to using my old 3d pulse for now. Back to deciding on stealth pro, nova pro or audeze maxwells.
These are the only over the ear headset I can wear. So comfortable and I like the position of the button controls. Only con is they disconnect from time to time, not often though, and the only fix is to restart my PS5 but again it’s not often or daily. I love this headset tbh.
I like the integrated features that work with the PS5. Can mute the microphone with the mute button on the controller instead of havong to use the one on the headset itself. Just simple quality of life features that i appreciate.
I copped these last week. I'm definitely satisfied with them. Now, what to do with first model because they're just gonna collect dust like a old cell phone. Lol
I must say, I bought these to play dragon dogma 2 and OMG this shit is good!!! Best headphone I ever bought. More comfortable than music headphone I used. Like the MX2 (Sony brand) and the apple headphones, the one that never shut off. I also buy Tuttle bench and Astro. But this by far, the best bang for your buck!

The non removable ear pads are a bit annoying because I'd prefer to switch them out for some mesh ear pads and also would give the headset more shelf life
They cost me $199 here in Canada $225 after taxes. I'm impressed by the audio quality. Much improved game audio over the Pulse. I'm experiencing sounds that I never heard before in my games. Once you find that height callibrated sweet spot the 3D audio is fantastic. They also have a long charge, 20+ hrs seems to be right.
That mic was so much better than i expected it to be. I pre ordered one today. Are you able to monitor your voice in the headset while speaking, like you can with the normal pulse headset? Are there side tone settings?
You did a great job but was really hoping you’d key in on the difference between the PS4 Gold, the Pulse 3D, and these to get a better sense. The PS4 Gold headset has a better fit at least for my head and ears. Also feel like the pulse 3D has a tighter fit too!!

@@alf3052 yea audio 1 is plenty loud for me. Although sometimes it makes some game sound weird like god of war ragnarok for example in that case I switched to bass boost and it sounded better and still plenty loud.
I went back to Steelseries Arctis Nova. The sound is not as good but the amount of issues I had with this headset, disconnecting, turning off suddenly for no reason, etc was driving me insane. Arctis not as crisp and clear but not that much worse either and I now have my sanity back.
I don't doubt your view mate but I know two people who haven't influenced each other and they really didn't like them. Sound worse than the pulse and other issues. Hear your heartbeat because of the ear cuff and a few more issues. They returned them and both use the older pulse headset.
Pulse 3D vs Pulse Elite comparison from reviews I’ve watched: The Pulse Elite has: • Much better comfort. • Simultaneous Bluetooth (PS + Phone audio) • Over double the battery life • A better mic • Possibly has much better response and less latency due to PS Link • Planar Magnetic drivers (different from dynamic drivers used in almost all headsets) start at a minimum of £300. Thanks Techne great review, I'm definitely thinking about getting this headset, only thing I'd like to know is, if the Bluetooth or dongle works with Xbox Series X?, (it probably doesn't), but i have both XSX/PS5 and don't want to buy two headsets, one that does both is a winner for me.

Interesting review. As someone who plays pretty equally on all platforms my Steelseries Nova are hard to argue with… but I can’t help being tempted to pick these up purely for my PS5 sessions
I got them and kept having issues with them cutting out for a second or 2 and then reconnecting - this was on PC where I do most of my gaming. I connected them to PS5, updated both the headset and adapter (need to connect headset via wire to PS5 for the headset to update), and then I made sure to remove any other wireless devices that are not in use out of the way. Both, my keyboard and mouse are capable of wireless, but I use them wired since I sit close to the PC and it doesn't make a difference to me, so I disconnected the wireless adapters for them, and I also have a wireless remote for a portable A/C in my computer room that's situated in a way so that I sit right in-between the remote and A/C, and the remote takes a temp reading to tell the A/C when to kick on, so it has constant back and forth signal, so I made sure to move the remote so I'm not in a direct path of its connection to my A/C. I don't know which of those actions fixed my issues, but no more sound drops, just clear, great sound. I was beginning to worry that I'd have to return these headphones which I was trying to avoid because they are great value for what you get so my next option would have been twice as expensive (either Audeze Maxwell or Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro), so I'm glad I ended up resolving the sound issue.

I wondered if you experienced any odd sounds through this headset. Only way to describe it is as - small water droplets, faint popping, a little crackle. I've seen lots of posts on reddit about this but none of the reviews mentioned it.
For Gaming yes for music mwha for Gaming on ps5 it has great speed and great immersion but lots of treble maybe too much the build Quality could be better but for the price its the best you can get for ps5 other similar headsets are at least 250/300 so the pulse Elite is the best choice i have the nova pro7 and im thinking of going back to the elites cuz they are much cheaper and have much better acn
So where is the part about PC usage? Does the Surround Sound work as good on PC? Does the Mic? Is the BT Sound good? Does Windows Sonic for Headphones Help? Is it only worth it if you have a PS5?
@The Techne how dare you force the wife to drive so you can enjoy the headset 🤣 Thanks again for a nice review. I’m getting this headset when it’s released. I love my Nova 7 Wireless, but as a PS5 gamer it’s annoying keep having to go to my PC to change the EQ every time there’s a sound update for a game or just for playing different games and as the PS5 has the 5 band EQ it will make life easier when gaming
They look kinda small compared to old Pulse 3D. Am I wrong? Also I hope dongle won’t overheat on PS5 Slim because you need to connect right where hot air comes out.
There are many more headsets that can do that 😂😂😂 the best reasons to buy it is its speed and immersion no ook other headset below 150 is going to sound better
Great Video. What about the sidetone Feature on ps5 since the Last Update on 8.60. Does it work? Can u hear youself while talking? Greetings from Germany
I wonder if we’re going to be able to change the ear pads or if it just going to be hot ears for days. I know he said he couldn’t get them off but I really hope we can
You can mute them also from the controller and since most of their buyers will have a PS5, that’s not an issue, so now I’m not sure you really test them very well.
How much better is the overall sound quality? I'm talking about when playing videogames, music and videos. Is the sound quality kinda the same or is it worth upgrading? The sound quality of the PS Pulse are already insanely good, here I am hoping its even better with the PS PULSE Elite
It’s a newer sound technology from Audeze, and from the other reviews I’ve seen, it is leagues ahead of any other headset in the $150 range, and even better than a few of the premium $200-250 gaming headphones. Planar magnetic drivers are great for soundstage.
7:18 Man that AI microphone is crazy. That’s definitely going to help during those hot summer days when I have my fan on. I don’t have to keep muting my mic for I don’t annoy anyone with fan feedback.
Got mine today, not a bad headset. Sound as good as the pulse 3d, definitely better mic and better battery. I would say that if you get 3rd party ear pads for the pulse 3d they would be more comfortable than these but that’s all personal preference. I don’t really like the pleather ear pads on any headset. Prefer the velour ear pads. It’s not a bad headset for $150, but I think I am going to stick with my Corsair virtuoso xts, prefer the sound of the virtuoso than these even on ps5, mic is still better too
Hi man, love the videos! What’s your opinion about the Nova 7x vs the Pulse Elite? I’ve recently bought the 7x but I can still return them and get my money back if I want to. Maybe I should swap the 7x for the new Elite? Keep up the good work!
Great Video!!! Which of the EQ Presents is the best for shooters like Rainbow Six or something? Or do I have to customize my own? Thanks for this great video.
Hello everyone. I finally bought pulse elite. Before that, there were razer kaira pro. And oh my God, that's great! Of course, there are no basses like on kaira, but the sound is much clearer and more pleasant. They keep the charge for a long time and in the same way: THEY ARE VERY CONVENIENT. Pulse 3d was a complete crap and sold out a week later. There were no outages on pulse elite. I was in doubt for a long time and decided to check pulse elite myself..And these are incredible headphones for the money. In terms of the quality of the materials, yes, it is bad. But the microphone, the sound, and the way they sit on their heads are beyond praise. All those who were also touched by the terrible pulse 3d are completely different headphones. Pulse 3d was pressed on the head and lay on top of the ear. The pulse elite does not squeeze and is worn around the ears and does not cause discomfort.
I like them but one thing I don’t like is they seem to randomly lose their connection to the PlayStation and it’s not always so easy to get them to reconnect.
I just got a pair of Virtuoso XT's to replace my old wired HS70s on PC, but now I'm looking at these to replace my old PS Platinums I've been using on ps5. Got the Virtuosos on sale for about 30 more than what these cost at full price so I pulled the trigger on them but I have been curious about Audeze and planar magnetic drivers in general. I could just as easily move my dongle to the PS5 when I'm not at my PC or even 3.5mm the XTs to my controller but after seeing that noise cancellation demo, I think the omni directional mic these have would pick up a lot more random noise through playstation than the new Pulses would.

I wondered if you experienced any odd sounds through this headset. Only way to describe it is as - small water droplets, faint popping, a little crackle. I've seen lots of posts on reddit about this but none of the reviews mentioned it.
Does it sounds better than steelseries nova 7
I was wondering the exact same...
What eq do you recommend for watching RUclips videos?
Interesting, I'm undecided between this, for mostly PC some xbox 3.5 maybe, but also really tempted by the maxwell as well 🤔
A dang good option for $150
These headsets should be good for playing Madden 24
I like a man that keeps his word !!!!
So where is the part about PC usage? Does the Surround Sound work as good on PC? Does the Mic? Is the BT Sound good? Does Windows Sonic for Headphones Help? Is it only worth it if you have a PS5?
Are there independent game/voice chat dials? I like the ability to adjust both easily on the fly
Am i the only one hearing annoying sounds when i move arround my head while playing or listening to music etc?
The planar crinkle. It sucks. I gave up on my maxwell because of it.
@The Techne how dare you force the wife to drive so you can enjoy the headset 🤣
Thanks again for a nice review.
😂😂
Just randomly stopped in gamstop today and picked this up. I dont even use headphones like that, but i wanted the latest and greatest. 😂
Really nice they gave it wired inputs
Saw the thumbnail and was happy I preordered one. The specs convinced me.
many reviews saying after around 4 hours of use it uses about 10% of the battery, pretty decent sounding
Have you tried the quality of the voice while wired??
They look kinda small compared to old Pulse 3D. Am I wrong?
Also I hope dongle won’t overheat on PS5 Slim because you need to connect right where hot air comes out.
Being able to use it on PS5 while simultaneously use it on bluetooth is what sold me on this.
There are many more headsets that can do that 😂😂😂 the best reasons to buy it is its speed and immersion no ook other headset below 150 is going to sound better
Many more headsets have that😂😂 the only reason to buy it is the speeds and the immersion no other headset below 150 is going to be better or faster
Great Video. What about the sidetone Feature on ps5 since the Last Update on 8.60. Does it work? Can u hear youself while talking? Greetings from Germany
Dang that mic sounds good, makes my G Pro X Wireless sound like trash.
Great vid, ty
Are they better than astro a40s
I wonder if we’re going to be able to change the ear pads or if it just going to be hot ears for days. I know he said he couldn’t get them off but I really hope we can
Great review. What Oakley’s are you wearing. I like em!
How well does Discord transfer to PS5 work? I have arctis 7p headphones, and that particular functionality doesn't work well at all.
It’s not a bad headset for $150, but I think I am going to stick with my Corsair virtuoso xts, prefer the sound of the virtuoso than these even on ps5, mic is still better too
Sony bought Audyssey last year so yeah they kind of bought them for this tech.
Audeze*
great video! keep it up
Hi man, love the videos!
Is the headset good for rainbow six
Took mine back. Stuck with my pulse 3D.
Lookin forward to vs Maxwell,
Which Oakley's are those?
can anyone comment on the directional audio for FPS games? I'd like to know how they perform on footsteps and their location etc..
me too
Had one disconnect with pulse elite en my ps5, read on reddit a lot of problems with losing connection.
Same won’t connect now going to have to send back
Hello everyone.
Biggest setback for me is that you can’t swap the ear pads. HUGE miss
Does this headset have awareness mode?
I like them but one thing I don’t like is they seem to randomly lose their connection to the PlayStation and it’s not always so easy to get them to reconnect.
I just got a pair of Virtuoso XT's to replace my old wired HS70s on PC, but now I'm looking at these to replace my old PS Platinums I've been using on ps5. Got the Virtuosos on sale for about 30 more than what these cost at full price so I pulled the trigger on them but I have been curious about Audeze and planar magnetic drivers in general.
I could just as easily move my dongle to the PS5 when I'm not at my PC or even 3.5mm the XTs to my controller but after seeing that noise cancellation demo, I think the omni directional mic these have would pick up a lot more random noise through playstation than the new Pulses would.
i like the chips muter !! i picked one up !
