- PlayStation has released a new upgraded headset for the PS5 with the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset, offering numerous upgrades over the original Pulse 3D at a $50 price increase. Honestly yeah I was wondering like does this person actually wear them with a beanie on when using them? Cuz that would make a difference to me
One major change is that the Elite works with the mute button on the DualSense unlike the 3D where you could only mute using the button on the headset.
Well, that sounds like an unnecessary reason to upgrade

Can’t believe you’re still testing the sound with a beanie on. Any fabric in between your ears and the output will altar the experience even by small margin but that margin is important if you’re reviewing and comparing.

@@sc1the Not everybody has good hair like the commenter. And it is ok to wear beanie. It doesn't mean they tested headset with beanie on. Probably they tested it without the beanie.

Years ago, Sony came out Platinum Wireless Headset 7.1 Surround Sound for PS4 it was spectacular. It had a rumble feature that had to be felt to be described. Why Sony abandoned this feature is a mystery to me.
I have tried some headsets over the years and never found one as good as that. Really high volume, great bass, I loved the rumble feature… Used it for about 8 years, until it completely broke… I bought the Pulse 3D for my PS5 hoping it would be close to that one, but it’s not anywhere near that level of quality. I came here hoping to check if the new Pulse Elite will be good…
@marloncarrero6575 YeahI have never understood why Sony abandoned the Platinum Wireless. The construction of the is was terrible. I've seen Amazon reviews that show the same damage mine got it was clearly a flaw in the materials used. Now I'm glad the new headphones are made far better. But the bass and the rumble feature were the true standouts of that headphone. I believe the new 3d sound is what Sony wants to push is incompatible with rumble and bass. I also liked the different presets that the Platinum Wireless had. It made Jurassic Park mind blowing 🤯
I forgot about that feature. I had that headst, but accidently sat on it and broke it. That rumble was nuts.

I had the pulse and I love my elite headset. The sound is so much more crisp. And the mic definitely sounds better even if it isn’t crazy.
I literally ate and rustled a bag of crisps on my elite and my mate said he couldn't hear it
I only want it for PlayStation Links multiconnection with Pc to watch RUclips while playing, with switching outputs, mixing sound and all that.
Had these for over a week n here's what I think!
Outta the the box they're a bit flat but once you dail them in using the PS5's EQ Presets they're a game changer.
Excellent battery life, didn't have to charge mine after four days of long gaming sessions.
The connectivity to like your phone is a welcome addition, can play both audio simultaneously with no distortion, mute game audio entirely n just listen to your music, take calls etc.
Mic is retractable, quite decent and blocks a lot of BG noise.
A lot more comfortable than the Pulse 3D's.
Controls are pretty straight forward and I like that you can mute from the Dualsense Controller, also change volume and game chat audio directly from the Dualsense Edge controller using the FN keys.
Build quality is mostly alright.
Now to where these headphones really shine, The audio quality is
simply amazing on the Pulse Elite, the planar magnetic tech' they're using makes a world of a difference paired with Playstation's lossless link audio for some of the best audio separation I've heard on a gaming headset, There's no distortion, I'm hearing things in some of my popular games that i haven't heard before, trust me set up yr 3D audio experience on the PS5 sit back and get ready.
This is coming from a long term gamer, this is my honest opinion, if your coming from an older pair of gaming headset, pick these up worth the buy for your PS5!
Thanks for your opinion. I don’t have such a long experience with games but I thought the low end is a bit weak. Using heavy guns in my favorite fps didn’t sound as heavy as in other headphones. That was an important issue for me. The eq couldn’t make up for it. It comes down to how you’re used to hear.
@@RedFloshken much appreciated! I totally agree, you might be a little more bass heavy demanding than I am, but so far not a lot of complaints on my end!

@@SPYBBX I got you, I personally use (Bass 5dB, Low 3dB, Mid -1dB, High 3dB, Treble 5dB) this goes well with most single player titles imo and for FPS games I go with the default Shooter EQ preset and tweak it a bit to my liking.

i remember when gamestop used to do a trade in promo where you can give them your older ps headset model for a huge discount. i wish i can trade in my pulse for the pulse elite

I figured out the mystery behind the disconnecting!
There's an issue with connecting your cell phone at the same time it’s connected to your PS5.
If you just connect to the system the headphones work flawlessly.
I recommend factory resetting the dongle and headphones and then reconnect them after the issue has occurred.
What about they keep disconnecting and then reconnecting that's my issue with the pulse Elite headphones
i been using this on rainbow six and i’ve went from stuck in copper to silver 4 , audio is everything and this headset is amazing
With the charging hook on the elite, you don't have to wall mount it. Just get some double sided 3M tape and just tape it under the desk or media center you have. Super simple and pretty clean looking honestly.
Is it still woryh it if I don't have a ps5? I'm looking for a wireless headset to use when gaming with friends on pc and where I live the Pulse Elite is about half the price of the Nova Pro Wireless, much cheaper than the A50 and around the same price as the A40 and Hyperx Cloud Alpha Wireless.
I just don't know if I can update the headset's firmware or EQ it without having a PS5
Hello. Does anyone know how to adjust the audio balance? Because unfortunately he won't let me.
I'll pick up a set on Wednesday i had a set already but man it keeped disconnecting on me and i returned them one feature i do miss is the control of audio and chat the pulse 3D have were you can lower the chat volume in a game

The audio balance is greyed out in the headphones quick menu HOW TO FIX?
You have to be in party chat for it to work.

My concern with the Elite is availability of replacement ear cups. I had to switch them on my Pulse 3d just by wear and tear...

I'm good with the pusle 3d headphones. I just bought them a a few weeks ago. Wish i would have bought them sooner. I will upgrade to the elite headphones when pro comes out later this year.
Voice monitor button would have been nice, i can’t seem to find a setting for it?
You forgot about the AI in the mic that removes background noise
And never mentioned that the audio balance option only works in PS party chats unlike the 3D where it was usable whether you where in a party chat or not and the worst part about it is that there's no reason for this to be the case
The Pulse 3D also has that after a software update.

@LsIQIs2K it is for playing with people who are not on Play Station or don't use Discord.
For example, Destiny 2 has a 6-player game mode called raids, and it requires full communication from every player, such as having different tasks to do similar to puzzles, but also, you are in a FPS gun fight and with gun shots, music, special effects from everything happening everywhere around you sometimes it's hard to hear teammates callouts
Reviews on Amazon are saying they keep dropping out, losing connection. Then you have to reset them
You actually pull off making these headsets look cool! At this price point you've got quite a large range of headsets in competition, including Blackshark V2 Pro, Steel Series Arctis Nova 7 and Pro Wireless, and even the Audeze Penrose. As much as the Elite has instant street cred and value, how does it compare to the other headsets out there within $50 bucks of it? That is the question!
I'm still using the ps4 gold headset on my ps5 still working strong.
I use the playstation platinums when i am playing alone cause the mic on the platinums are not good for
Talking with the ps5, but i hear everything super well.
Cool, now they just need to hurry up and release that and the edge controller in black so I can buy them.
Haha that is sooo me, i want the edge & new headset but until a black one comes out i am not wasting money on the white one when my ps5 has the black panels & i have a black controller.
I've had a black duel sense edge pretty much since release.

The real game-changer is using the Pulse Elite with the DualSense Edge
You could probably make a whole video dedicated to that. With that combo you only ever need to touch the headset to turn it on or off, everything else is done through the controller. For example, the mute switch on the controller actually mutes the headset.
I have a turtle beach 600 gen 2 and I like it but one of the cups I had to duck tape it after a year I’m considering these ones but idk if I should wait a while and give these my old ones away
Dude, it’s SO hard to take your opinions seriously regarding ear cup comfort when you NEVER take a beanie off your head.
the PlayStation Link technology came too late in the PS5 Slim development to be built in. That's why PS Portal is so far the only device with native support.
You gotta really hope the PS5 pro is going to have PlayStation Link built-in
Just got mine and its awesome. I can also use the PS Link adapter on my PC and even on the Nintendo Switch Dock to have it simultaneously connect with my phone on bluetooth.

@@redcrimson1028 Obviously on PS5 and PC sounds better cause of the surround sound/3D Audio. But i have been playing a lot of Balatro and a bit of Mario Wonder and it sounds just fine like any other bluetooth headphones paired to the Switch.
@yankj023 ok. If u want the best sound with switch? Use the skull & co. Bluetooth adapter with a good pair of headsets and man! Wow! I use the Sony xm4 with the skul & co adapter and it's out of this world
Having to use the UI to scroll between 'Game/Chat' volume is a huge inconvenience for those of us who play online multiplayers!
Most of the time we toggle that whilst in game and it's super easy/quick & practical on the original 3D pulses.
Didn't wven realize the triple tap feature was there.
The Pulse Elite is cool!
As for the earbud versions, I would not recommend them as they tend to disconnect frequently.
Returned 2 pairs…both had connection issues.

my pulse 3D headband snapped into 2 pieces so upgrading is kinda a no brainer
From my personal experience with the elite, the battery life and the ability to listen to my phone and my game at the same time is worth it.

unrelated to the headphones, even for just 5 seconds of b-roll footage at 6:30, the playstation portal is stuttering... they really need to fix that.
Related to the headphones, I ordered them and looking forward to them. I hope I have more luck than I did with the pulse explore. I liked the sound of the explore, but the comfort was an issue for me. Plus the Elite also has the option of a wired cable, so could be a nice accessory to other devices too. (one of those retro android handhelds, or the switch, or any of the windows handhelds)
My one keeps disconnecting randomly and this is a way de spread issue

The charge base is the reason for that extra $50 on the price.
A hardwired setup is really the best way to go.
Might want to add that you can not adjust the game/voice chat balance in game. Only in playstation parties. That alone made me bring it back within a couple hours of owning.
I'll get it when they go on sale. Pulse are good.
I got mine yesterday and get nothing but random disconnects every 12 to 15 minutes

So many people are experiencing disconnect issues. That’s why I find it strange in his video he’s not experiencing issues it’s weird because I went through like three pairs.

People commenting about how great these are makes me want to buy them…but then again, I just use cheap Sony wired earbuds and they seem to work fine. Is there really such a big difference? I seem to hear everything just fine with standard wired earbuds/headphones.

I have the pulse elite, when they work they are amazing. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to connect mine to my ps5 for the past week, disconnected out of nowhere. Annoying as hell
I still can't see how you can fully review a headset with the sounds filtering through a thick hat between the headphones and your ears?
beanie doesn't change the sound, speakers do
@@Whiteshade If the speakers aren't in their intended spot then the sound profile won't be accurate. Its the same with earbuds if you don't have them seated or positioned properly they aren't going to sound right. If the earcup isn't sealed around your ear then you aren't going to hear all the proper frequencies.

Got to be honest to your reviewers. I have these headphones, and they keep disconnecting, and everyone is saying the same thing.
I am being honest and that isn't an issue I've experienced. I can't speak to what every unit out there is doing, but I've been using mine non stop and haven't had disconnection issues in my own testing.

Maybe you got lucky but everyone is experiencing it. I’ve changed my headphones about 3 to 4 times hoping to get one that doesn’t do it and each one of them had the same issue.
The audio on the 3D headset is honestly better, I did a music test and the bass is way more better then on the elite, I get these are gaming headset but having bass is a must for me. Since I already have the elite I’m sticking with them cause of the simultaneous connection between the ps5 and my phone

These are not bad but the Sony Platinums are better imo. I have both, I got these because the advertising convinced me they might be better and cheaper than their Platinum. Cheaper, yes, better, no.
You really need.
To take your woolly hat off and put them on your actual ears.Because I experience a much different effect.When I put them on to other headphones, they feel like vacuumed in some way.And even though they are not noise cancelling headphones they do a good job in keeping out the outside world
In all honesty. These are great with exception of the bass. They have no bass. Don't be fooled. Everything else is great. But if you absolutely HATE bass, these are for you. If you're like me and can appreciate some bass, don't get them. They have absolutely ZERO bass. Even after messing with the extremely limited eq settings.
what headset do you prefer? im about to return my elite headset. i keep getting popping sounds in the background and i hate the lack of any bass

I had the pulse elite for 1 day and returned it. Here's why:
1 the lack of bass, there's no bass at all only highs and mids.
2 the comfort, they are uncomfortable and don't feel right.
3 the ratteling noise of the earcups, they are to lose and feel so weak.
4 the random disconnecting, they loos connection couple times every hour.
5 the lights on the headset are in the vision of the player.
6 they are not fit good with the psvr2.
7. No replaceable ear pads.
Save your money and buy another headset!!

I honestly didn't love the explore. They sound great, but at their price point they're super feature light. Great if you use the PlayStation Portal, but at least for me, an over ear headset feels a lot better for at home use than in ear.
@@KevinKenson thanks for the reply, yea i feel you i have the astro a50s for my xbox and the over ear cups are 10 times better than the pulse 3d that rest on your ear because even with all the padding after hours of use the pressure to the ear hurts, and yea i don't have the portal but i want one and the earbuds were gonna be for that, have a good day kevin

So basically if you have an H5, H7, or H9 this Elite is pointless. They have the inzone line of headsets, idk why they even made another pulse headset....
Sony needs to hire a new designer. The design is ugly !
