I have said it before and I'll say it :YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT. I would've ragequit at the first lamp. I put together this like super mini lego ish thing that my friend got me for Christmas of a crocodile (I love crocodilians), and it took me 1.5 hours and the instructions were so hard to follow that I nearly DIED from frustration. I finished it under duress.
When mixing lighter colors, it’s best to start with white and then add drops of color. That way you don’t use so much white. Likewise, add drops of black to darken the color. Remember, wonky IS whimsy, perfection is overrated, and figuring it out is the best part of the process. It looks so cute because you did it your way.
Check out Queen City Minis!!! She doesnt really measure and she kind of just wings everything lol. She has so many diy mini things made out of junk, paper, paint, and hot glue that look amazing!!! May e you could do a third one where you add little accessories for the kitties haha
I can’t wait to see part 2. I love anything mini, the smaller and fiddlier, the better! Jewelry glue is great for the metal wire and tiny beads. Good luck on the furniture! 😅
I think: anything for the cause! I did one of these. It was a greenhouse. I made all the plants. It was pretty cute and fun. You're doing excellently so far!
This is cool. I'd love to see u build something with foam board and putty filler. Maybe after this project u can make add on miniatures to go with it. A cute cat village!😊❤
You have a great way of making this video. So lovely and calm and without background music. That often makes it too busy for me because of health issues. Definitely subscribing. Can't wait to see the next part :-)
When masking for fine detail like the early steps, use a bit of varnish first after putting the tape down and let it dry before painting it. The varnish seals any of the slight gaps that paint can get through
I’d love to see you do intuitive/thoughtless art!! I used to be the same as you - perfectionist beyond all logic. But I’ve been in art therapy now for about 5 years and I have been able to push through that toxic mindset and actually just ENJOY creating for the sake of its self. I think an art exercise that is simply for the sake of creating and not a final product could be immensely powerful for you. Then you can feel like you are a perfectionist when you WANT to be and just enjoy the process and not negative self talk or require it do be redone because it’s not perfect to you. Gives the power of perfection back to the person instead of perfectionism controlling me.
I love watching your videos Rose !! I smile the whole way through with an added giggle here and there. Watching you makes me think we could be friends and have a grand old time making things. I love the humour you inject in to your voice overs. Our crafting styles are very similar as is the approach to crafting. Can't wait to see the next video and all your other crafty ideas. The best to you in the New Year !!
Oh I'm customizing this same kit! I wish i had used the glue you did negate there are so many gaps in the walls. I kept the colors the same though, i didn't think to do a cute theme. I haven't gotten to the landscaping yet. But i feel better seeing someone else struggle with the same things i did on this kit. I'm excited to see part 2!!
Looks sooo cute so far! I love kits like these and they do take a lot of time, but worth it in the end. I love the cute color scheme you went with!! I'm excited to see the next part!
💡💡💡Persistence over perfection. I definitely needed to learn that. I live with a chronic illness & spent the holidays in the hospital. Coming home & restarting my life yet again feels so daunting, especially as New Year's & my 44th birthday approach. Thanks for sharing your process. I definitely needed to see your persistency. My greatest flaw is I want things to be perfect so badly that I freeze & do nothing. I think it's time to retire the motto. "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all." I wish you all the best in 2025. Happy New Ye ar's Eve
Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I'm a perfectionist who has had to learn that perfection doesn't exist. This year is a new start for you and I know you can do it. I'll be thinking of you! ❤️❤️
@RoseRequinCrafts You're such a joy to watch & interact with. Your responses to comments are so genuine. I sincerely appreciate that you make time for your community.
So glad everything went perfectly and there were no struggles at all 🤣😅 My best friend got me a kit from that company for last Christmas, and it's quite intimidating. You have to really stare at those teeny instructions, lol. But I am encouraged that you tackled that electrical bit. 🙂 Anyway, the customization is looking really cute so far. I'll be surprised if you manage to finish it in a second part, instead of making it a 3 part series; I hope you're able to have fun with it, and that it doesn't become a chore. 🙃
Your desk might be a mess,😮But your nails look fantastic!😊I love your little house can’t wait to see the next video. My favorite moment was you asking (“Why do they need windows in a door less house?” You had me rolling on that!
I am FOREVER accidentally breaking things, getting confused, messing up the wires and growling in frustration with these kits. I still enjoy the heck out of putting them together and customising them….theres just growling, swearing and asking for help from smaller handed people in my house 😂
I think i love it!!!! As ive told you before i love how you always use your creative freedom with things this lil house is sooooo damn cute so far i can not wait a whole week to see part 2 but i will bc i kinda have to 😂😂😂...as seriousness its too stinking cute can not wait to see how you finish it all!
Hi Rose, I'm was just smiling at your planning, I know that I should do that with my Crafts that I make since I have too many ideas. I've got myself 3 New mixed media Sketchbooks by Sea White of Brighton. I've got 4 New black pens too, so far this holiday I have completed 21 of 20 minute sketches of Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Kangaroo & Sleeping too. Though my sketchbook is not Full yet, I have got a Daler Rowney A4 Sketchbook that I have snowflakes & Neon & rainbow Tiger heads in & Desserts too.
@RoseRequinCrafts Hi Rose it's been since the 12th of December & it's been SO FUN ! I got 24 Twistables Crayons & Coloured Pencils from Crayola, I want to know what the Fuss is about Bad Mouthing Crayola. I forgot that I got them for Christmas & received them later in the Day. I felt Crap for a few seconds as I received only 2 gifts, but I found my others since my Sister moved them. I'm not sure what I want to put in my 3 New Sketchbooks , but I'll work it out. I'll be working on my DRAWINGS of Mugs & Glasses with Dessert in them, I might do some as Felt Badges Next Year. Though whether I need to work on What Will be my popular make next Year, I have 15 done so far. Well Drawn onto Felt that is, I'm very tempted to put my Popular Mini Bear inside my Felt Mug or Put a Penguin inside it instead, though I'm not sure That I should SINCE that is a ready a Design in someone's Advent Calendar Colouring Book.
My wedding was candy land themed! This was a major issue with the kit. I actually got 2 sets from them because so many pieces were missing and they sent me another bag of them. I still have a full kit I did start on. I didn’t realized I stole some pieces from that one 😂 glad you got the extras though.
@@RoseRequinCrafts ca glue accelerator is a spray that makes superglue dry quicker, you can also use baking soda, but baking soda leaves a bit of a 3D texture. I think Adam savage might have made a video on it at some point. You can superglue in larger woodworking also by using it to hold pieces together while pva glue dries(might be overkill for miniatures). a lot of people find it easier to control gel superglue as compared to the liquidy stuff. hope this is helpful
Sweet fancy Moses, Gundam kits are easier than this thing! Save those ratty brushes with the dried paint in the ferrules, they are awesome for skunky, textured paint effects.
Maybe I’m not understanding correctly the process you used but it seems like you could’ve just used the non-cut original trim pieces on the other wall then what you did use them on. But I’m probably not understanding right I’m pretty sure that’s the case. 😊
Both the piece that I cut and the piece that I added it to were the same length. So lets say each piece was 10 units long. I cut 2 off one piece making it 8 units and glued it to the other making that one 12 units. Didn't know you'd be doing math on a Sunday, did ya? 🤣

1:31 oh my gosh, I’m so excited. I love these customized minis.
21:00 this is turning out so cute. Can’t wait to see the rest.
I’m obsessed with these miniature kits and I love customising them. Can’t wait for the next episode, it’s looking amazing so far. 😊
Thank you!
I use a lego brick to help me with getting things square (enough 😝) with these kits.
Omg! That is such a good idea!
It's looking great 👍 😊
Just looking at all these delicate tiny pieces I can already hear them shattering in my hands 😄
😂
Omg its looking so stinking cute! Can’t wait for part two!
So cute.....can't wait for part two! ❤
Thank you! Me either. 😉

Ooh! I will check her out!
Wow what attention to detail!! You have incredible patience! 💖 I love your videos !
Thanks so much! 💖
I can’t wait to see part 2. I love anything mini, the smaller and fiddlier, the better! Jewelry glue is great for the metal wire and tiny beads. Good luck on the furniture! 😅
Ooh! That may come in handy. Thank you for the tip!
It looks really cute and I can't wait to see the cats
This is already looking so stinking cute! I can see your vision! I can't wait to see part 2! 🤩
Yay! Already back at it. 😉
Hahahaha I'm living for your fighting with the wires😂
There were alot of choice words that day....
I think: anything for the cause!
I did one of these. It was a greenhouse. I made all the plants. It was pretty cute and fun. You're doing excellently so far!
Thank you! ❤️
i’m so excited to see the finished house it looks really cute so far!!
Daaaaang i would not have patience for all these tiny pieces. Super cute tho!
Cant wait to see the kitties!
😉
You’re doing a very good job!
Thank you so much!
Can’t wait for the next instalment. You keep popping up as ‘someone I might know’ on Facebook 😍
Lol. I need to get better about posting there.
I love crafting but not enough people talk the whole way through in a snappy and interesting way in their videos! I’m so happy I’ve found you!
Thank you!
It’s looking so good! Can’t wait to see it finished!!
🥰
This is cool. I'd love to see u build something with foam board and putty filler. Maybe after this project u can make add on miniatures to go with it. A cute cat village!😊❤
Don't give me MORE ideas! 🤣
I just know I wouldn't have the patience for this 😂 you did amazing!
Thank you! Just wait for the rest. 😤
So cute!!! Excitedly awaiting part II
You have a great way of making this video. So lovely and calm and without background music. That often makes it too busy for me because of health issues. Definitely subscribing. Can't wait to see the next part :-)
🥰
i would have imploded after reading the instruction!
well-done!
I'll be able to recite this manual by the time I'm done.
This is so good! ❤ I didn’t realize how many tiny pieces these kits had.
Right!?!
When masking for fine detail like the early steps, use a bit of varnish first after putting the tape down and let it dry before painting it. The varnish seals any of the slight gaps that paint can get through

Just amazing!!❤ so much detail! Can’t wait to see part 2. Your such an inspiration ❤
🥰
im so glad youre trying one of these!
😊
Wow!!! Fantastic job! You have some patience. I don’t know if I could have done all of what you have so far. Can’t wait to see the rest! 💜💜💜
Annoying persistence 🤣

See you next week. 😘
I enjoyed that so much. I can’t wait for part 2. I’ve got a mini home to build too!! If I ever get round to it! 😅
Do it! Its pretty fun, if not insanely chaotic
Wow this is so cool! I have a tiny house in my cart for Yolkie but I don’t think I have the patience haha… so I LOVED this and can’t wait for part 2!
Thank you so much! I have a feeling you'll end up building that tiny house though!

some gel superglue and accelerant in combination with white glue is magical for tiny bits, it dries instantly so you dont have to hold it
What is accelerant?! 😳

I use superglue for minis as the dry time is a lot quicker
it can soak through porous materials like paper though
and it can cloud clear acrylic
It looked ok it very cute so far. Your patience is definitely better than mine though. I can't wait to see the final sexy shots 🙂
I just realised why you have so much patience. You hang out with toddlers all day, you can't afford to not have it. 😂
Very true. Its like Olympic training in patience. 🤣
