Marseille is the French Naples in France in similarity, the sun ☀️ , beach 🏝 , the small streets of the city center, hot atmosphere, many fans of city club (OM) Olympique de Marseille, honestly it’s a beautiful city.
I agree. It really is a beautiful city!
The dirtyness and the dangerosity
I'm from Marseille and I'm glad you like it! Best city in France. Great video
Merci beaucoup! :)
The poor people from third world countries that fail to integrate & live in the streets is the best part. Don't you agree?
@@Rebel_71123 I do not, mainly because I didn't see any. I'm not saying that there aren't any, but I can't judge what I didn't see.
Best city in the world! Allez l'OM!
@@Rebel_71123 you do realise there are plenty of native poor people too right? Take your ignorance and pathetic outlook elsewhere and work on yourself.
For the literature lovers, Château d’lf was featured in Alexandre Duma’s Count of Monte Cristo!! Great video!
Yes, that's correct! Thanks for stopping by :)
Thank you for videotaping your adventures for us to see. Marseille is on my list.
Thanks very much - I hope you get to visit Marseille one day!
This is the best video of Marseille that I have seen! I thoroughly enjoyed your narration. I’m visiting Marseille in a couple months, and this video has been super helpful.
Thanks Katie, much appreciated!
I think you'll love Marseille - it's so much more laid back (and foreign tourist friendly) than other parts of France.
Hello
A highly enjoyable, informative and professional travel video! The videography and narration is top class from start to end. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you.
Thanks! I appreciate your kind comments.
I'm trying to make great content like this on a regular basis!
Was really looking forward to this one and have not been disappointed. Really enjoyable and informative ahead of my trip to Marseille. Definitely one of my favourite RUclipsrs!
Thanks Paul. I think you'll have a great time in Marseille - everything is cheap, the food is nice and the weather is lovely, even at this time of the year!
@@mathiasvoorhees6232 That's pretty sad that you have to wade in on someone else's comment and talk negatively about the OP's own experience. Clearly I've been to Marseille and clearly from the video that there were parts of it that weren't very nice. My query is why you even bothered to be a hater at all?
@@mathiasvoorhees6232 How pathetic that you call me a liar. So sad.
The architecture of the cathedral inside and out😍
Yes, it's definitely worth visiting once in your life!
This is awesome and well compiled. Thanks!
I appreciate that, thanks!
My first international city love lol. It’s been a while since I’ve been but I miss you Marseille!
It's an amazing city for sure!
The best video about Marseille I've seen so far ,
Thanks you for all those precious informations.
You're welcome, I'm glad you found this video helpful!

Great detailed city tour of Marsellie, definitely visiting there before Paris after watching this video!!
Totally! I highly recommend that you do!
this video is magnificent. I love Marseille. I think it is the most beautiful city all around Europe
Thank you so much, glad you like my videos :)
@Ahhy08 It's really not that bad. Obviously every city in the world has problems, but so long as you stay away from those areas, you'll be fine.
Marseille looks lovely
It really is!
The star shaped fort is common among the western world. Look at Pittsburgh, PA, USA for reference, the french and english were fond of it. Aside from that, thank you for the view of Marseille, I will visit there one day! Fantastic video
Yeah there's plenty of examples of it. But it's still cool though.
And thanks! I hope you get there one day - it's a neat place for sure!
Beautiful drone shots💖💖💖
Thank you 😁
Hello
I was accidentally recorded by you in 8:04 - 8:05 Didn't realize that someone was filming a video when me and my friend was exciting to see the toy exhibition in the museum 😄
Oh wow, you're famous! :)
I have a daughter her name is Jessie Marseille... Honestly i named my daughter Marseille after this city. Love it
Cool! That's a great name and a great reason!
Thanks :)
I thoroughly enjoyed the video and the humorous narration. Thank you for making it!!

A beautiful city at an amazing location with a lovely weather. Went there to watch Olympique Marseille in a league game which was intense as hell. The city seems laid back but on match-day it's simply madness. As for shops being shut during the day, it's a French thing as I had the same issue when trying to find an open restaurant during the day which was a mission.
Yes, I think you're right. On a match day, it's pretty intense.
And the city is lovely to visit ... when things were actually open!
i guess Im randomly asking but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot the password. I love any tricks you can give me!

Thank you, particularly fascinating for me as I was in Marseille five years ago (February 2018), and you stayed in the same hotel, Residhome Marseille, with the same outlook from the bedroom window!

Thanks for the memories. Was there in the navy back in the late ‘80s
Probably time to go again, it's not changed all that much since you were there - but still a nice place.
I’ve always wanted to go back I have no excuse not to go back. I work for AA. I could fly to Paris and take a train. I have a new passport.

I visited Marseille 30years ago n I forgot it. Until I saw the fountain I remember the place. It brings back nice memories. Marseilles looks modern these days. Have u tried bouillabaisse? That famous sea food dish.
I haven't tried that yet. It gives me a good reason to go back! Glad you like this video and it brought back some memories :) Check out my channel for more like this :)
I can’t wait to see it! 🙏
It's a beautiful place for sure!
1:15 = it's a building located in a place called Le Pharo , near the Vieux Port. It was a gift from the city to Napoléon the Third for all his benefits for Marseille. He never lived here because of the 1870 war (the building was just terminated)
Thanks!

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I had a great time, and I think with warmer summer weather - it would have been a bit more lively. But it was great, thanks!
How could you possibly love it? Didn't you see all the poor people living in the streets?

How was the trip in August
Great video! I might spend a few days there in June, and I’ve been looking for an overview. This was very helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome! I hope you have a great time in Marseille.
Marseille is a beautiful city, it has a long history and a rich culture, also it's the only french city with many outdoor activities, but the high crime rate is damaging its reputation, beside this people who want to enjoy France's second city should avoid areas of security concerns to prevent themselves from problems.
Yes, I've heard that the crime rate has risen significantly since I was last there. Such a shame.
A huge thank you for the tips! very useful :)
Thanks Nina, glad you like this video. Let me know if you ever visit and I hope you have a great time!

3:00 I didn't know that there was a Burger King in Marseille! I'm French-American. Haven't been to France since 2003! Born there and moved to the USA in 1997. Never knew that they had Burger Kings!

❤❤❤❤❤❤ most beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ City ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks 🙏 very informative and helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
I love and miss Marseille
It's a nice city, I like it!
Great video; my only comment concerns your strong opinion concerning the danger of Le Panier at night. The location of your hotel right by the train station and thus one of the poorest neighbourhoods in France (the 3rd arrondissement) I would suggest is quite dangerous. The well known advice is to avoid the northern areas of the city…whilst Le Panier is to the north of the Vieux Port, it is far away from the huge northern housing developments that are the no-go areas. I have often walked through Le Panier at night without problem…it is quieter and less atmospheric than during the day, there are fewer bars and restaurants than in other parts of central Marseille, but It is not considered dangerous.
That's interesting because I experienced the complete opposite?!
I had no trouble walking around where I stayed, but lots of shady characters around Le Panier, especially at night.
What you're saying may be completely true, of course - and I trust your judgement.
4:49 there are strikes in France at the moment because people are protesting against modification of the retirement remuneration.
That explains it!
Your voice is amazing. It's a like movie narrator's
I've LOVE to be a movie narrator. Or a voice-over artist. Maybe one day, huh?
Thanks for you kind comments!
Great vid as always!!
Thanks bro!
Thanks. I'm in Marseille exploring. Yes! Having just come from Brazil, the nightlife here is pretty dead. There's literally nobody on the road at night :D
Exactly, yes! But it's a fun city, even if the nightlife is quiet!
i m from marseille. in winter we re staying at home cuz we dont like cold temperature haha . in summer its full festival and busy everywhere
My biggest association with Marseille is the Taxi film series :)
Yes, indeed!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE ALWAYS ❤
Thanks.
Great video and tour. Thank you for sharing this lovely video. I just would like add that Chateau d'If is the prison where the count of Monte Cristo or Edmon Dantes stayed for 14 years. Well, of course he is a novel character, but just think how he sneaked in the large bag which they had initially put Abbey Faria's corpse to toss it over to the sea and then once Dantes was in the sea how he managed to get out and swim away for miles. That was a majestic prison break.
Yes, that's correct!
In the novel this happens in Chateau D'If, but in the modern movie this is all shot on the island of Comino in Malta. From the cliffs where they threw the body bag from, to the long and winding sea cave with the little dark sandy beach at the end of this cave. If you happen to visit Malta and the island of Comino, do not miss the tower and a boat tour to the cave which boaters call "the love cave". Well done for this nice and very informative travel guide. We visited Marseille twice and also Paris and I agree with you, Marseille is much nicer than the overrated Paris.
Wonderful and very informative video. Thanks for uploading it.
Thanks Bruce, much appreciated!
Hi from Marseille, great video ! Too bad you didn't go to Le Vallon des Auffes.
Merci beaucoup!
Je pense que je suis passé Le Vallon des Auffes, mais je n'ai pas arrêté pour une visite.
Je vais essayer de m'en souvenir la prochaine fois!
I came here after watching Tottenham vs Marseille today and to be fair I didn’t know nothing about this lovely port city ! Next time we’re in France we’re definitely making this city a must and catching a football match! Thanks for doing these videos me and my wife love your channel
Thanks Ryan. Yeah, a lot of football fans don't explore the cities that they go to, and I think that's a shame.
Definitely take an extra day or two on your next away match to have a look around. You'll be amazed what you find!
Didn't know nothing... which meant you knew something ;)
Thank you for the video ❤️
You’re welcome 😊
Hope you enjoy Marseille if you're visiting 😀
Thank you so much for your video! I wasn't convinced to go to Marseille, but you changed my mind!
What time of the year did you visit? What was the average temperature? Thank you!!
Thanks very much! It was definitely worth visiting. I think I went in February, and it was fairly average temperatures given that it was the south of France about 10-15°C. It's significantly hotter the more you go towards summer. Hope that helps?
C'est beau Marseille.
Oui, c'est vrai!
Great video. I'm travelling to Marseille in a month. Did you visit recently? Should I expect the weather to be as it was in your video? Thanks for the information.
Hi Nicole. Yes, I've just come back from Marseille last week. The weather was pretty good even at this time of the year (a bit cold in the evenings), but when you get here, it should be very nice weather indeed. Hope you enjoy your trip! :)

It really is! Thanks.
I also love chamonix
I've never been, but I'd love to go!
All medditerrian and adriatic cities looks cool
Yeah, they really do!
If you get a chance to visit Marseille, I highly recommend it!
JUICE - MARSEILLE 🔥🔥
Yes exactly.
For some more upbeat nightlife you just needed to go to the other side of the Old Port where there are numerous restaurants and bars and a large square. The Panier side is always dead in the evenings. Another option for nightlife is the infamous La Plaine--also packed full of bars, clubs, restaurants and people.
Yes that's correct.
Brilliant video funny and great information
Thanks!
Everywhere closed was funny. Great work alround
Hey really loved your video ! Was very informative & intriguing! I will be visiting Marseille & nice next month with family so wanted to know, do you recommend that we hire a car for 3 days to cover Marseille & nice instead of metros? Do the major attractions there have parking spots ? Please do let me know ! Thank you 🙌
Hi. I don't recommend that you hire a car, as traffic is pretty terrible and I don't recall seeing all that many parking spots. The best bet is public transportation, either with the metro trams or the buses. Really easy to use and it's cheap! You can walk to most of the attractions in Marseille, but you'll need transport to get to the Calanques or the Basilica because it's so high up.
@@UltimateBucketList Oh I'll stick to metros then. Thank you once again for the help ! Looking forward to watch more of your videos 😊

Beautiful city! nice drone shots! isn't illegal to fly with a drone there?
It really is.
I wasn't aware that it was illegal to fly a drone there, I registered myself and my drone with the French Aviation Authority and had to label my drone etc. But it definitely wasn't in any NFZ and I checked for any restrictions and there doesn't appear to be any.
Beautiful video. Very nice point of view of the second city of France. I'm from the city. You missed some cool sites too such as le cours julien, L'Estaque, la Joliette, la Plaine, les Gouds etc. I cannot pinpoint where you are from.
Thanks for the tips! I'm from Manchester, England.
@@UltimateBucketList I kinda suspected it but I was not sure. I am glad you enjoyed the city. I now live in London and it's been 12 years and I've been to Manchester once. Cool city btw 👍

Amazing video
Thank you my friend!
Geart instructive video, I am visiting marseille next month and wanted to know how were you able to get these beautiful drone shots? Did you have an autorisation or you just flew early in the morning? Thanks
Thanks very much! Technically flying over water is perfectly legal, and most of the shots here were above water.
The only place they're twitchy about you flying the drone is around the Basilica. But if you launch and land outside the grounds, they can do nothing about it.
Enjoy!
The beautiful second largest city of France .
Yes indeed.
This is the best Marseille travel guide on RUclips! Thanks!!!

Hello i loved your video and I saved it since I'm traveling to Marseille in 2 weeks. Do you know if the 72h pass covers the bus to calanques national park?
Fantastic, I'm glad you enjoyed this video. I managed to use my 72 hour pass to get to the edge of the Calanques and explore from there. If want to go further in and to the other side, I think you'll need different buses/trains that are not part of the Marseille Transport System. Check out my separate video on the Calanques for more information. Hope that helps?
@@UltimateBucketList i am planning to start in cassis probably
@andreasioannides3868 I think you're better off getting one of the big trains to Cassis, it's probably quicker than using the buses anyway.
Chateau D'if served as the inspiration for Alexandre Dumas for the prison scene in "The Count of Monte Cristo" - where Edmond Dantes was falsely incarcerated.
It certainly did! There was a whole exhibit about it, but I didn't want to drone on about it so I omitted to tell people that.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Someday i will be there.
