What a great vlog! I never knew Marseille was so interesting. And the views from Notre Dame de la Garde -well worth those steps! So glad you’re getting better mate but continue to take it one step at a time. Slow and steady wins the race. Look after yourself Jay! Thanks again for for a lovely video.
I am just SO happy to see you happy and well and thriving! Very happy my brain is healed enough to catch back up with you and and all that has happened in the last few years. 🎉
I was in Marseille twice in 2019 and was wonderfully surprised each time. However, the mistral about blew me over into the abyss at Notre Dame de la Guarde!
I miss this city. When I was there, the Euro Cup was happening and the port was full of areas designated for this event. I literally spent two days walking about and I wished I had more time to explore. Anyway, any reason to return. I love the neutral tones and the roughness of the city despite it being cleaned up recently at the time as a European Capital of Culture. That Museum of European Civilization is worth the admission. Jay, I am glad your return to youtube brought this about.
It was for us a real pleasure to meet you this summer in our shop, making with you a vegetable candle, in happy team, with smile and generosity! Thx Jay, it was for us the occasion too, to see Marseille with an other eye ;) Stef & Ben (nice meet from 20 minutes)
Oh my word! At last something to tell us you are on the mend . I have been looking for signs of life everyday and today was not disappointed. I loved the photo of your group taking part in the organised run - standing right next to my favourite running girl.
Just got back from my first vacation in 4 years and saw you finally mixed the Marseilles trip. Hope you’re doing well since the diagnosis. Looking forward to more videos when you are fully recovered.
Update: just noticed this is from a trip in July! But most of this is still relevant: Is this my favorite of your videos?! Might be! I am truly glad that you’re back at it so hopefully means you’re feeling more rested with burn out at bay and Covid in your past. and I’ve never been to Marseille and with my love of big bodies of water I will now visit when next in France. Thank you! I really enjoyed the music also.
Thanks Karen! I'll definitely be coming back slowly from here - still not up to snuff yet but looking forward to putting out the videos I shot over the end of the summer and then getting into some new stuff from there =)
What fun!!! I love that you just ran into the candle maker and got to make one! It's random moments like that, that make travel memorable!! Loved seeing a new video. Take care of yourself!!
Glad to see you back on RUclips Jay! This is my kinda city I could see you taking a staycation here for the winter to do some writing lol change of scenery always inspires
Always happy to see a happy Jay. Could this be a new focus for your vlogging life? Oh, once you get your permis de conduire I can see you 2CV-ing away from Paris for the sights, sounds and scents of France. Continue to heal, please, and take your time; you do add a lot to a lot of lives.
I'd definitely love to see more of the country - I miss traveling (but more, I miss having the energy to do it haha). Thanks Richard! I'm taking my time and I'll keep slowly coming back as I'm able =)
That was such good content 👍 My wife and I will be visiting Marseille next year, and this video offered so much in terms of tourist options. Thank you!!
I’m from Marseille and I love to see it from travelers to see if you can feel the real Marseille’s vibe ! You got it pretty right ! Don’t hesitate to come back, I can give you tips !
You got me into Space Invaders! I also used your videos from years ago as a guide when I first went to Paris in 2018 ❤️ I like that your guides are so relatable
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I was in Marseilles right before the pandemic and we stopped at Deep every morning we were there. Glad to see they survived the pandemic! I’m grateful we rode the bus up to Notre Dame though because woof 😅
I have loooooved this video! Thankyou Jay! I want to book a flight immediately hahaha. The street art was superb and the churches, might have to watch this one again big love to you I really appreciate seeing this x
Jay, so happy to see that you are back. Take good care of yourself, one step at a time. Looking forward to the promised e-scooter review. Maybe an episode of e-bike vs e-scooter vs the wheel, a la Top Gear.
Greetings from California. Good to see you back at it! My wife and I have been binge watching your Vlog from the start - just into season 3. I jumped ahead to a more recent. We will be in Paris on 18/10 and I wanted to see what mask protocol is in France. Best to you! I will say you continue to make your grandmother proud by showing beautiful places and beautiful women, It's nice you do that for her! Cheers.
Awesome job- thanks for finishing up Jay! This was a long one so I can see why it took some time in editing. Just bought a place in Nice and can't wait to check out Marseille
I spent a few days in Marseille in 2019 & loved it. In fact I’m sure I stopped at the same cafe you did in the Panier district! Lots of great memories from that trip. 😊
Merci beaucoup! So great to see Marseille from Jay’s perspective! I was only able to rush through Marseille between train and plane for a few hours in 2019. Definitely worth a much longer return visit! Thank you, Jay…It is wonderful to see another of your compilations…feels like visiting with an old friend!
I live here. La chose la plus intéressante, c'est la diversité de la culture, et les belles fleurs, à 4:50, sont du laurier laurier rose ( des plantes toxiques).
I have not been to Marseille yet but watching your video makes me want to go. The area you focused on looked great. Your hike and wobbly legs reminded me of the time I climbed the hill to visit the San Luca basilica church in Bologna, and when I went to the top of Mont Real in Montreal, boy were my legs like jelly when I came back down. There have been other times climbing up ancient towers or light houses on narrow stairs, same effect. But the experiences are great memories, right? I hope you are fully recovered very soon!
Thank you so much for sharing a nice tour in Marseille!! We are planning a trip to Marseille. I wouldl like to get some feedback on where to stay! Where to stay in a budget for a family of four in Marseille? Any recommendation is highly appreciated! Thank you so much!
Was in Marseille at the end of August so this was a nice return visit for me, thank you. Did you know (or for anyone thinking of visiting in the future) there is a bus straight up to Notre Dame de la Garde? Leaves from the Vieux Port. Much easier than hiking tho perhaps not as much fun. MUCEM (Mediterranean Civilisations) was a disappointment and yes, very confusing to walk round, but the Fort of St Jean next door made up for it. Will definitely go back again.
aller du vieux port à notre dame de la garde à pied est une sorte de pélerinage, il faut faire un voeux avant de monter et arrivé en haut mettre une bougie et repeter le voeux
Hey Jay, apologies for my laxitude (is that a word?) with your channel. Our city Melbourne has had the most lockdown days in the world. Almost gave up hope until our PM is announcing opening up international travel again. You lucky duck! What an amazing place. 💕
Marseille is the French Naples in France in similarity, the sun ☀️ , beach 🏝 , the small streets of the city center, hot atmosphere, many fans of city club (OM) Olympique de Marseille, honestly it’s a beautiful city
Thanks Jay! I was intrigued by the horizontal organ pipes. I don't believe I've ever seen that before, so I looked it up. Apparently they produce a loud trumpet-like tone - en chamade. Hope you're recovering well from the run.😎
you have stayed longer on this side of the port to see the fortified church next to the navette bakery there is an oven on that spot for over2600 years
I remember being in that beautiful city 6 years ago... saw old french people with baguettes & cabbage climbing up and down, crazy fit!
Such a crazy hill to commute
I love the Mediterranean vibes of Marseille! It’s so lovely to watch you having fun on your vacation. 🙂
It was nice to get down there =D
The comte of Montechristo city 😌
The light is amazing in this city
Thanks for showing us Marseille. What a lovely city and great history. Definitely one to put on the list 😀
Loved every minute of it.
Definitely worth the hike! And thanks Andy, the recovery is slow but at least it's progressing =) Glad you liked the video!
I am just SO happy to see you happy and well and thriving! Very happy my brain is healed enough to catch back up with you and and all that has happened in the last few years. 🎉
Love the street arts there. Thank you for the leg work and sharing the scenery of the trip. Well done.
My absolute pleasure =D
The weather was incredible! I am mesmerized by how blue the sky is.
It was so nice
Man, the music on your video (tracks and edits) are so spot on, amazing job!
Thank you!
Thank you for all the effort you put into creating this video. Marseille has been added to my bucket list.
You're welcome! It's on my list to return as well =D
Another great video Jay!
Thank you Sasha!
I was in Marseille twice in 2019 and was wonderfully surprised each time. However, the mistral about blew me over into the abyss at Notre Dame de la Guarde!
Haha, glad you didn't end up blown away!
I miss this city. When I was there, the Euro Cup was happening and the port was full of areas designated for this event. I am glad you are doing well! I am so Jelly! I love your trips and I miss France soooo much! Thanks for the memories!!!🤣🤗❤️🇫🇷
Merci beaucoup pour votre amour pour Marseille, la ville où je suis née , vie et travaille.🥰😘
Jay. I have to say. The vlog was crystal clear and the background music was fantastic. Great editing. We miss you!
Great video Jay! Marseille looks so cool; I was genuinely upset when the video ended. 😂
Haha, glad it kept you to the end =D
It was for us a real pleasure to meet you this summer in our shop, making with you a vegetable candle, in happy team, with smile and generosity! Thx Jay, it was for us the occasion too, to see Marseille with an other eye ;) Stef & Ben

I like to listen to your videos in the background while I work.

I enjoyed this. Thank you Jay.
Awesome vlog, Jay! We took a different path up to Notre-Dame de la Garde, but either way it’s a hike!
Definitely an elevation gain haha
the panier is home of an over kind of navette, and home of the newest of the museum in town
I was beginning to get a little concerned! Thank you for the videos sir
Happy to drop one! It'll be slow going for a while yet, but I'll get back into it as I'm able
Thanks, Jay!
You're most welcome!
Merci de faire connaître quelques beaux endroits de ma ville.
I also need to go to Marseille to get the new space invaders!
Your french is very good 👍
A monument to playing Frisbee with you dog... er.. with your bears?!!? BAhaha!!.... 15:03
Ever since the movie The French Connection I thought of Marseille as a dirty crime town. Thanks for showing us different!
Merci JAY
the best spot is the samaritaine coffee shop the oldest running brasserie of marseille
Great to see you Jay! Such a beautiful city. It did look hot. When were you there?
It was really hot, back in July
Nowadays you have 90 F or 33 C
You and your dad should also visit the charming city of Aix-En-Provence. I want to revisit it!
I want one of those candles!
They smell great
great video like the scenery
Thanks 👍
C'est beau Marseille.
Jay's baaaaaccckkk!🍺🎉 🙂
For at least today haha

Montpellier might be worth a visit.
Totally agree
