Totally valid. Like everything in Root, it's situational and you must be aware of your surroundings. Your purchase could have the effect of discouraging another player from buying if they are being cautious not to overfeed otters so that's another consideration. If the card your taking is Root tea or Hammer, I'd say it's worth it almost no matter what even if otters get a bit fed.

I believe it's closed to now entrants now but you could always ask Guerric, the Mod of the Server as he's hosting it. Last year, I got in because of being a last minute replacement for somebody else who dropped out. There is an entry fee so that's something to consider but also a prize of $250 for the winner at Leder Games store.
