The gen3 passat NMS 2015 passat TDI filter is not up top anymore. it's underneath and has a 13mm drain plug inside the 32mmsocket -- see my video from yesterday.. socket sizes are same. 32/13/19. and 25 torex for splash pan with three 13mm bolts in back (or 30torex if the dealer didnt lose your bolts). also requires lifting up car. The gen3 filter has a big spring inside and a solid end cap - 2 orings to replace on canister one big one like this video and another small one on the 13mm drain. can lift wiring harness out of way on gen3 if you clip the zip tie and you will keep all oil off of it. the gen3 has spec 507 oil that is expensive. I used gold-can european diesel oil VW507 spec Castol EDGE full synth 5w30. a sticker on the radiator support says 507 spec is required - and please know the dealer WILL void your 162K warranty if engine component failure and the oil fails their lab check test (they WILL send a sample to a lab if you have a component failure that factory or even aftermarket warranty pays - save $30 on cheap oil and void your special dieselgate warranty! ). Gen3 took 6 US quarts and it's 80% up the dipstick crosshatch when cold. reset oil light on the SEL premium: w/ignition off, press and hold the 0.0 reset while clicking ignition on - computer will prompt you with question to reset oil interval. Also, now you can enter your own oil change and maintenance history for your VIN in carfax to track own changes..
