    Taking into account that this is a sport pick up, with big 35 or 37 inch tires, the assistance is good enough. For long road trips in interstates, this should be good enough. Takes cares of speed, avoid you crash the front car and also keeps the car in the center, what else do you want people. I know it’s not full blue cruse, hands free but this still it’s amazing.

    You are definitely from Minnesota. I have a 2021 Roush F150 with all these b&ws. I change cruise and lane keeping sensitivity depending on interstate or local roads. System screams at you when not enough steering input. It takes some fiddling to find best combination of settings.

      Thank you!! I saw that as well. It sounds like they are unable to make it work with the off-road oriented suspension on the raptor. Understandable, but I'm sure people will be pretty bummed.

    Did you happen to update your truck to get BlueCrusie?
    Once I had mine updated, the normal hands-ON Lane Centering no longer works, while the lane keep still works as shown. Dealer refuses to see that there’s an issue and tells me “everything works as designed”
    Thanks in advance, great video!

    I find if I just rest my finger on the steering wheel with a very little pressure turning the wheel right, the truck will stay centered and the hands on the wheel notification will not come on. Some of the Tesla people went on line to buy a small weight made to hang on the steering wheel. It will also simulate your hands are on the wheel. Not saying that is wise to do that but that is all it takes.

    • @gearzgadgets5872
      @gearzgadgets5872  2 года назад

      I have heard of people doing that with a Velcro ankle weight or something similar also. I find that the way I drive causes the warning to pop up very infrequently, so I just wiggle the wheel a tad when it does.

    On a straight highway/interstate is it asking for steering input as often as you were showing on your videos during the curves? Also the noise asking for input, if you add input every time it asks for it does it reset it ? or after a certain amount of warnings it will shut it self off?
    I have a 2022 raptor on order, and am very upset about no bluecruise. But this seems comparable if it isn't bugging for an input every 5 seconds on straights

    • @gearzgadgets5872
      @gearzgadgets5872  2 года назад

      It will still ask for your hands on the wheel from time to time when driving straight. Not super often, but it all depends on how much you are steering yourself. For me, with one hand on the wheel, it probably only comes up once every 4-6 minutes when driving straight on the highway or interstate. The warnings and dinging reset as soon as you give the wheel a little bit of steering input, and it doesn't take much, just a little bump or wiggle. Overall, I don't find it very intrusive or annoying. I have no experience with bluecruise, but my guess is that will be warning you to watch the road in a similar fashion to how the lane centering system warns you to put your hands on the wheel. I hope that helps answer your question.

    What sound system comes on the 800a when I built mine I read B&O with 8 speaker Inc a sub woofer unless you upgrade to 801a brings the upgraded b&o. Idk how true that is

    • @gearzgadgets5872
      @gearzgadgets5872  2 года назад +2

      800A has a 7 speaker unbranded audio system (no subwoofer). It has 1 speaker in the middle of the dash, 1 in each A-pillar, and one in each door. That is standard, and there is no other option without upgrading to 801A and then you get the B&O Unleashed system. There is a Kicker branded Ford Accessory subwoofer that I will be adding to mine. It mounts in the factory location with factory connections/wiring.

    Are you aware that you have Traffic Jam Assist enabled on your truck? This feature isn't well documented. It's not mentioned in your owners manual (MY22 at least). Have you ever driven your truck in heavy slow stop and go traffic? Traffic Jam Assist uses ACC and LC and should be hands-free at slow speeds. Google TJA. Many cars have it. I can disable my BlueCruise and enable TJA, but i don't have traffic to test this out.
    BTW, hang a wrist weight (1 to 1.5 lbs) on your wheel at 3:00 or 9:00. This will fool the truck into thinking you have the wheel. Your truck will drive hands-free then. I do this in my F150 and Maverick.

      @@gearzgadgets5872 , is TJ A just a slow speed BlueCruise? I'm trying to find out. I have BlueCruise. I'm planning on disabling it and enabling TJA. I'm not paying $800/yr for BlueCruise.

    • @gearzgadgets5872
      @gearzgadgets5872  9 месяцев назад

      It is not BlueCruise. Rather, it is just lane centering at a slow or "stop and go" speed like in a traffic jam. It will bring you to a complete stop and remain active when traffic starts moving again from being stopped without the driver having to use the pedals or steering.
