    Harley, I’m just under your age. Born in 1978. I eat HCLF vegan since 2015 and outperform all my contemporaries. Most of them are on TRT. I’m drug free and stay lean with no effort. I train Jiu-Jitsu 10-15 hours a week, ride mountain bike and help coach my local NICA MTB cycling team. I outride the middle school and high school boys. I do all the pre-rides before races with each group of kids, and I’m always ready to do “one more” lap if needed. Trying to push acceptance of sugar for the kids. But brainwashed parents think I’m crazy. 😂
    I’m making headway though. Hopefully this coming season I’ll finally break through and get the kids set on the proper way of fueling.
    Carbs for the win. 🙌

    Durianrider, there is a new white Aussie sprint star named Lachlan Kennedy from Queensland. He is a Type 1 diabetic.

    • @durianriders
      @durianriders  6 дней назад +2

      exogenous insulin is a HUGE PED advantage and has been used for decades. It is SO powerful that you need a TUE for it!
      VERY easy to get a TUE for insulin because just eat enough fat and you will fail OGTT consistently and then you get a TUE for 12 months no probs!
      Insulin is VERY dangerous if you dont know what you are doing. Many athletes die every year from insulin overdosage. Mostly power athletes who lift a lot.

    Something about honey being thrown into a bin that's just so infuriating. Just imagining how much effort went into that. I did a quick chat with AI, so a hive of ±40000 bees will make around 60 jars of honey a season. So around 3 days to get one jar. For a single bee it would take 750 years to fill up one jar.
    Even if those numbers are innacurate, it must be in that ballpark. For some fat f*ck to be like oh yeah its near expiry date better throw it out lol. I know a lot of the beekeepers care about their bees very much and I appreciate their work. I'm not anticapitalist by any means, but I wish we could do some things without there needing to be a profit somewhere down the line. Like I totally understand that the beekeepers need to be paid, I just wish it didn't have to be this exploitative. Hate the game not the player.
    I know I'm being a broken record vegan activist right now but f man, this is just not it. In a 100 years from now, whoever is inhabiting this planet will look back at what we did with industrial animal agriculture and see it as worse than slavery.

    • @the_coreyjohnson
      @the_coreyjohnson 7 дней назад +9

      A bag of sugar is “refined.”
      Cane sugar comes from sugar cane, a type of grass.
      Some sugars at the store come from Beet roots.
      You can buy “natural” sugar which has a brownish color to it, or basic white table sugar.
      The cheapest white sugar is the same as the expensive “natural” sugars. But the “natural” ones have more flavor, in my opinion.
      If you are looking for cheap energy that dissolves easy in liquid, buy the cheap paper bag of white sugar.
      I use Zulka pure cane sugar (it has a bit of color to it and more flavor) for herbal teas. It’s vegan and non-gmo.
      But for training I use cheap white table sugar mixed with water in my water bottle.

      As I understand it, you can only absorb a limited amount of glucose per hour. So 100g can only really be reached if you also add fructose, hence why sucrose works well. Also with sucrose, you will always absorb the energy faster, because you utilize both pathways at the same time. There is some recommendations and research that a higher proportion of fructose makes sense for really high amounts per hour (like 150-200g/h).
