Hi Mark, there is no way anyone needs a jab if they eat right. We have lived for years just fine wiothout any need for this stuff, the issue is... todays shit food. Sugar!
Eat whole food only, never ever eat Super market food. Never eat white flour, rice, pasta. Its simple really.

I've eaten a normal (healthy) meal and 20 minutes later I am thinking about what I want to eat again. It's not a fun feeling. People that don't have an addiction don't understand how bad it is. Yes, in the long run, the solution is to maintain a healthy eating diet, but in the short run corrections need to be made and I wish I had something like this when I was going through absolute hell trying to fix myself. And I'm willing to bet (my life...) that it's far worse to be obese due to an eating condition than it is to take this drug to fix it.
Telling people they don't need this is like telling someone undergoing clinical depression/anxiety they just need to "be happy and worry less." No f***ing s**t. Thanks Sherlock. I couldn't figure that one on my own. The drugs are so many brain can actually do that, not because I don't want to. Sleep meds? Because I just can't "stop using my phone and go to bed." I probably use my phone less than you do at night... and still can't fall asleep.
So, I agree with you. Thank you Mark for posting this. Too many people share their severely uninformed opinions about things they've never experienced (and have literally zero expert opinion to base their "facts" on).

I’ve been a binge eater since I was a child…ballooned to 220 pounds at 15 and was prediabetic, lost weight on my own and got down to 130-ish pounds by my 18th birthday (the 00s was a very ‘fatphobic’ time, and I’m so glad for that). Kept the weight off all these years but never stopped binge eating, I just learned to ‘manage’ them and would severely restrict calories whenever I’d gain 5-6 pounds weight from binging. I also started chain-smoking to avoid eating too much. As I got closer to middle age, things got more out of control…insulin resistance, more uncontrollable binge episodes, emergency trips to the hospital because of blood sugar issues, infections that required IV antibiotics to heal. Weight-wise, I was getting close to 150 pounds, BMI getting close to 25…I started Ozempic last week, and my cravings have reduced significantly, not just food cravings but the desire to smoke cigarettes have reduced as well. My ADHD brain is quieter and I have less racing thoughts. I am ready to heal from binge eating and quit smoking forever, those are my priorities…and losing 20 pounds in the process to get to my pre-Covid size will be an awesome bonus…I dropped 9 pounds the first 6 days (it’s mostly water weight, but that’s fine, I always had water retention issues due to disordered eating).

I'm one of those few guys who just decided not to be obese anymore and just did it through hard work and discipline. The problem is, it was about the 1000th time I decided to do that and the first time I was successful. If these drugs had been available earlier, I may have not spent 30 years obese and done who knows how much damage to my body and shortening my life. I am now jacked, run half marathons, and still struggle with compulsive overeating (it's very rare now, but it will never go away) and I'm glad to know that people have options I didn't. If our real goal as a society is to help people be healthy, live longer and have a better quality of life, ALL options should be on the table, and people trying to gate-keep folks from losing weight because they don't want to do it "the right way" can pound sand.

Just denying others their feelings, belittling their suffering and shifting the blame to them for their suffering, because you did not come across that specific experience and cannot relate fully, is NOT empathy. That is at best a very early stage proto-empathy like a 7 year old has. That is operating from the model that everyone is like them ... or not a proper human but some kind of inferior creature. There are many people who are not even really that obese and who actually do not even qualify to get said medication. If you have the money you can buy it and most people are simply too lazy to put the work in. The moment they stop using the jab they regain the weight.
You have to change your mindset not simply being less hungry. I am pro the jab for people who really need it but the fat pass jab has increased massive popularity for many people who don’t have the strength/ will power to put in the work. They work out for a few weeks and don’t see any results and throw the towel in the ring.

I'm about to start Monjaro. I have spent YEARS battling obesity. I have periods where I manage to lose it, but then I flop. I have a lot more going on mentally than the standard gym bro who would claim all you have to do is eat chicken and rice.
I need this. I need something that can help me control my binge eating, my emotional eating etc. I need to relearn what it feels like to not be hungry all the time. I need one less thing to worry about whilst my head gets in line again. Then and maybe then... I can start to control my eating by myself.
I hate having to turn to this. Life right now is just too much to deal with it by normal means. If it can remove one more thing for me to worry about, then it is a step forward.
Thanks for the honest advice mate.

Thank you for making it clear at the beginning that what anyone sees bet it RUclips or real life, it's just a snap shot, what we decide to show the world...aesthetics are not a measure of health. What lies beneath any of us is so much more important.
I honestly felt seen when you said about the years of disordered eating and the cognitive/mental effects food can bring to your life.
I would love to go on the drug for reasons you mentioned. The thought of not having food noise 24/7 for me sounds like a dream. I would hope it might give me peace after about 40 years of my life struggling and wasting so much mental, physical and emotional time on something so basic as food.

Very well said. Why would anyone want to cast shade on anyone trying to improve themselves, their health and and everything good that comes with that is ridiculous. The whole commercial food chain is stacked against people. So much sugar and fat is hidden in foods. This makes people crave these foods. This is an epidemic greater than any disease or drug that has come before it. Anything that works and can help needs to be added to the our toolboxes. Thanks for sharing and speaking up.

Best video I have seen on this subject. Well done!!
I literally last night was thinking how I plan to wean myself off, now that I feel a sense of normal portion eating. My dietitian already had told me their professional end-game is to end the drug without a taper, if they end the drug at all.
I learned to listen to myself and that really means myself… regarding my personal fitness/health. Because I have to be true to myself and there *edited here: doesn’t seems to be any sense anywhere in this murky world of finger pointing. I literally last night thought to space doses to taper it down. 10 day was the number I thought would be best. I do not like to be dependent on any prescription drug and I am weary of the pancreatic risks as well. Thank you for your post.
It isn’t that I want to clone your path, it is just refreshing to see there is another person making their own path.
My focus has and will be on health and fitness; longevity and avoiding cancer/heart disease/dementia… I hope you find your journey a successful one!
    Cheers!

I drag the same burdens around, so I appreciate the videos on this topic. I was considering the drugs route, mainly as a resbite from the incessant compulsion to binge rather than anything to do with the actual weight itself. I’ve decided against it. Fortunately, I’ve discovered walking football (knee issues have stopped me from playing for the last 15+ years). Being able to do something weekly that gives me unbridled child like joy seems to have filled the void that I was previously using food to fill. Hopefully it continues. Thanks for the videos. They’ve been a real help.

    Good message Mark.
I started Keto again today (nothing to do with your video). I find a diet with clear rules is easier for me to follow, and a few weeks into Keto and cravings do disappear. I can’t stick to simple calorie control because I’m allowed to have junk food on that diet, so it doesn’t change what I eat, and makes it easier to over eat.
My issue is when I come off Keto, I end up going back to my old ways and put weight back on. But one day I’ll figure out how to control this. It doesn’t help that my wife has depression and comfort eats junk and my son likes chocolate, crisps, sweets etc. if there is junk food in the house I’ll eat it.
I know my Keto diet will work just fine, but fingers crossed for when I finish it in a few months.

Thank you for your honesty with the experience. Tirzepatide has quieted the thoughts I had that were on an almost obsessive level that would feed into my anxiety/stress loop, which would then lead to a binge. I've been eating, sleeping, moving, and just overall feeling better. It's a good tool for teaching a healthier lifestyle by reinforcing good choices and giving you consequences for poor ones, at least in regards to the type of foods you eat. It may not be for everyone, and that's okay, but it's opened the door to helping folks get the assistance they need to make more lasting changes.

Good video and and a good explanation how the drug worked for him. I especially liked that he made it clear that it is not an "easy" option and that one always has to confer with one's physician.
I never really thought about it relatively short term as a recalibration. Very interesting.

Some of the best advice I've ever been given is that when you encounter someone struggling with a problem, don't assume you know what they are going through. Even if you've had a similar problem, that person is not you. You can't expect them to do what you did. If anyone is being lazy, it's the person who doesn't take the time to get all the information, and decides the solution is just more will power.

The misconception is that you take it and that’s all you have to do, where in fact you still have to put the graft in. I’m tracking food but that’s so I’m getting enough protein in.

As someone who also lives with disordered eating and the constant food noise in the brain, I just wanted to THANK YOU for this series. I feel...seen, somehow. I've not taken one of the jabs as of this point - I wouldn't qualify via traditional parameters as I'm well within a healthy BMI - but the idea of my brain being QUIET. Being absent of the constant FOOD rumble. What is there to eat , when can I eat, I want to eat, food would be so nice right now, don't eat anything else from your lunch or you'll have no lunch left and it's only 9:37 am, etc etc etc. The idea of that soundtrack just being SHUT OFF is so beautiful to me. The clowns with the perpetual spew of whatever are just that - the Privileged Clown Brigade who can't imagine that someone else MIGHT be different than them. Anyway. I just wanted to thank you for this series. Especially with it coming from YOU, it makes me happy, and increases my respect. Unlike GaryGary42, or whatever his name was. Again, much gratitude.

Been on it for nearly 4 months, gone from 2.5 up to 10mg jabs (at 4 I’m tapering off of it). I’ve lost 37lbs, down from 224lbs to 187lbs. I found before it I was waking up in the night and eating. That’s completely gone and I’m sleeping much better now too. For me, my energy in the gym seems to have suffered a little, but the way I see it, I needed to lose the weight more than increase performance and strength. It’s worked a treat for me, but I don’t plan on doing it again (hopefully 😅)
