I can confirm this, not because I've ever intentionally tested it, but because one time I was taking my food out of the microwave and there was just an ant walking around in there like nothing happened.

i hope this doesn't sound bitchy, but i'm really glad you and macdara didn't lie and pretend the cake was absolutely amazing. coz that's the thing with baking! sometimes it turns out and sometimes it doesn't. but it's the _making_ that's the important part. hell, the process of making is what the stream is all about, because us the audience can't eat what you make anyway
Oh no that's exactly what I want! I never want to pretend something turned out good if it didn't, I'm not a professional baker or chef, I have no formal training in either, so sometimes things go wrong in silly ways, and that's ok! I like to tell the truth about it because then I can learn from my mistakes in an honest way. I'm really glad you like that! Sometimes I worry that I'm TOO honest, but I'd rather that than the alternative.
The stream was amazing, MacDara really delivered a great quality experience full of funny bits and of course Cake's chaotic energy really complemented it
the fact that he did so much stuff on the fly while the stream was live was impressive, absolute mad lad
this is the hardest i have laughed at any stream ive ever watched, Macdara is an absolute legend for putting all of those assets together and using them so thoroughly!

It's like he took some of the inside of my brain and applied it to the stream
A possible reason why the cake didn't rise is because baking soda actually "goes bad" and loses its effectiveness over time. So if your baking soda/powder is old it might be "dead" and not doing the thing it's supposed to. I only found this out recently myself and it's caused me some issues.
I'm almost sure this is what happened! It happened with something else soon after and I used the same baking soda, the more you know!
