Kirstin was aware of her tension. When she made a solo album she hired a vocal coach to get rid of it. She's now much much better.
The female leading singer is Kirstin Maldonado from Pentatonix, they’re another Acapella group that you should get into. You WON’T regret it, I’ve been listening to them since before they won their first Grammy 😂 they have some of the best arrangements out there !

The suspension at the end of the piece is EVERYTHING.
And I love how many people point out Kirstie's tension because she's *mostly* overcome it through vigorous training since PTX became big. If you look at her performances chronologically, you can see the gradual progression.
7:05 - Kristen and Jeremy (soloists) did freak out while they were rehearsing when Kate (high soprano) hit her high note. Poor Kristen's voice wavered and they were barely holding it together. they all just stopped and laughed. There is a video of it - so cute and wholesome.

Genuinely, one of my favorite things IN THE WORLD is watching people hear a Voctave song for the first time. Just like with a Dimash song, seeing their surprise over and over again is just so wonderful

@@callista. As far as I remember it was never really made public. Kirsten did mention something about broken trust I think I cant find it anymore but that could mean a lot of things. They did break up hating the other though, which is unfortunate when you see them like in this video. I think she is together with someone currently though so I hope they'll both find their happiness.

Falling down the rabbit hole of Voctave is a great experience. I always just recommend and go to their youtube page, videos, then just scroll down to the bottom and react to all of them in order....I always go to their page and just listen till I am in a better mood.

Yeah Voctave! My favorite of theirs is the hommage to John Williams music in Great Movie Medley. That arrangement is SICK. And yes, Kirstin Maldonado is a member of Pentatonix, fabulous A capella group with super singers and arrangements. Those two last chords though here!!! OMG! Great reaction. 🤗
I love these Voctave videos!!!! Definitely keep reviewing more a cappella music. Pentatonix would be a lot of fun. Nick Pitera, Peter Hollens, and Paint are all RUclips channels worth checking out as well. They're individuals mixing their own a cappella covers and singing all of the parts.
It is absolutely IMPERATIVE that you listen to them sing Carol of the Bells/Bells of Notre Dame. Like.. from one voice teacher to another, I was FLOORED.

I love this video from voctave, but what has me watching it like one a month is Jeremy’s reactions. I imagine singing with them must be the equivalent of singing with a full band or orchestra for the first time
Ahhh yes! I loved your last Voctave reaction, this notification made me so very excited!! I would love to see you react to some Jacob Collier, maybe his Moon River arrangement! Or some of his other songs like "In too Deep" and "All I Need"
Now I've got to check out your Voctave Disney Princess Medley reaction, because I kept thinking what a great Disney princess YOU would be while I was watching this! Kirsten and Jeremy were engaged when they performed in this video. They split up, but who can complain when their brief union bore the fruit of this timeless heart-warming performance?

You need to watch the behind the scenes of them practicing this medly. They are blown away by the amazing soprano. It is so cute.
Hannah, as a few commentors below have pointed out, the "Disney Love Medley" is "old". In fact, it was the first recording by Voctave when the choir had only 8 members present. At that time, there were 2 sopranos, 1 soprano/alto, 1 alto, 2 tenors, 1 tenor/baritone and 1 bass. Voctave eventually settled on 5 women and 6 men (i.e. 2 sopranos, 1 soprano/alto, 2 altos, 3 tenors, 1 baritone/bass and 2 basses). That arrangement changed a couple of years ago when the tenor/director, Tony De Rosa left and was replaced by Drew Ochoa and the bass, J. C. Fullerton left and was replaced by Aaron Stratton.
I also would like to know your opinion about Diana Ankudinova. Her rendition of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" really amazed me.

You ask how they weren't all crying in the video - there are a lot of moments where they're smiling broadly, and I'm pretty sure it's because they're just enjoying what they were a part of so much.
Also, yes, they're singing into mics here, but it's my hope? imagination? that they can blend that beautifully without any aid at all. YOU NEVER HEAR GROUPS BLEND THIS WELL ANYMORE, and that's why I love Voctave so much.
I mean now we're heading towards Christmas I'd definitely recommend O Come All Ye Faithful by Voctave - its probably one of my favourites.

They are the best a cappella group in the world and a leading source of innovation in a cappella. They have won three Grammies, put out multi-platinum albums and tour to sold out arenas world wide. You must react to them. Kirstin played Lauren in Kinky Boots on Broadway in 2017 and her growth as an artist since then has been impressive. But all five of the members of Pentatonix are world class artists.
