Wow! I'm so impresses of how identical both amps are, you can't go wrong with both amps

I added a bright cap to my MT15 gain pot (like the 5150 and JCM800) and it adds a lot of natural agression!

What bright cap did you use exactly and how do you install it?

I don’t know anything about amps and my playing doesn’t sound good through any of them, but I thoroughly enjoyed this video!

WOW!! OK, here's the takeaways for me. I found myself preferring the MT-15 through the cleans and the fist segment of gain. THEN you set about making the PRS sound like the LBXS, due to YOUR preference of the other amp. However, you surprised me with how good that LBXS was as times in the subsequent demos. It's really more competitive than I expected TBH. In the mix, I found myself liking the fuller, less gritty (?) sound of the MT-15. Seemed to have some deeper, richer frequencies. Looks like you're getting into those more treble-y sounds after all bro! So I put the PRS as my winner, but I'd still own either one. GREAT vid!

4:59 I tried out both and I just loved the MT-15 . I actually love them both. The EVH was brighter, the MT-15 chugs. The MT-15 reminded me of an Orange but better. That would be a better face off. Both are great, the Mt-15 exceeded expectations. It depends what you want.

I’ve had a few of these little lunchbox heads, they sound great and all, the ones with smaller power tubes just lack that full bottom end sound you get from 6l6’s/5881 tube amps. Of all the ones I’ve had I’ve hung onto my MT15 and orange Brent hinds terror (which I do need to boost to get it into the MT15 territory)

Tried both of these yesterday. Both good amps but, I had to go with the EVH LXB-S because the distortion tone is much closer to the tone I’ve been looking for most of my life.

I like the voicing better on the lbx-s but feel it needed a bit higher level on the bass or resonance to compete with the 6l6 tubes in the mt15.

Fantastic demo! Fantastic playing. They both sound incredible! I'm a little partial to the evh I just hear something and maybe it's psychological LOL plus I've owned a pv5150 and an a evh combo plus Wolfgang and music man guitars so I'm a little partial to evh! But that PRS is the only other amp that sounds incredible to me. I'm going to go with the evh. Keep up the great work bro appreciate you

looks like all the dials are set at 1:00 on the MT15 are the dials at noon on the stealth??? the Mt15 sounds fuller on cleans. and Im wondering maybe thats why with the dials at 1:00

Great video , very relevant. I personally find the MT-15 to be a fatter, fuller beefier tone than the lbx Stealth. Also darker of course. Both are great but the MT-15 is/was my choice. That being said the 50 watt Stealth is my current favorite full size-ish head until my KSR Ares arrives. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

  • @BazonBlades

Both are good amps, but big tubes rule over small tubes any day. I wouldn't trade my 5881 loaded MT15 for any EL84 lunchbox out there.

Both sound good, but to my ear the MT-15 sounds bigger and more full. The cleans aren’t even close. MT-15 is far superior sounding. For the money the MT is the better amp IMO. The only reason I sold mine is I landed an Engl Fireball 25 that is a notch above the MT for me personally.

Only thing keeping me from the mt between these two is the consistent noise loop issue…..

I’ve had my mt15 since early 2020 when they first came out. I love it, it’s powerful, full and aggressive. However I want to replace it. Partially due to the FX loop but it also just kinda feels a bit too perfect. Too refined high gain, too sculpted. It just needs more actual filth and grind.

  • @emartinezr
    @emartinezr Год назад

EVH is brighter, more aggressive and more transparent, makes the guitar stand out in a mix.
The MT15 is darker and fuller. Sounds better with the guitar by itself (the cleans were insane! so much body), better for a single guitar band or with a soft drummer/bass player...

  • @AD1978leo

MT15 all day long, especially with a band..Fuller fatter, bigger transformer and 6L6 tubes...At med to low vol, both Crush it, live and loud with a band, MT15 owns it. It competes with my other guitar player's 50w Marshall half stack....When I use the LBX, it;s great until we get to drummer volum, then it gets lost..The MT15 is amazing!
