This has been my favorite amp. Settings to 6-6-6 with an OD808 in line and an ISP Decimator in the loop through two MT112 loaded with DV77. Love my sound, simple setup, easy to transport and loud. Keep!
When I downsized my gear, my mt15 and PRS 1x12 was one of the kits I kept. I couldn't bring myself to sell it and I knew that if I did sell it, I would just be buying it again in short time.. Happy to see you are sticking with the little monster and still making her sound much better than I do mine lol
The “Hum” is caused by EMI from how compact the amp is. You need to shield the wiring that crosses over the PCB to the Jacks in the rear. You can also shield the tubes. 4cm with TC sentry is also really good for this. Loved your jamming on the overlay you did!
I'm having an issue with my PRS MT15 . It's humming when I use the FX loop. You mentioned that the hum is caused by EMI. Would you be willing to make a RUclips video showing how to fix it? .
Actually just picked up a mt15 for a really good deal. Mine is a newer one with the 5881 tubes. It absolutely crushes with the right overdrive in front of it. Keep those great videos coming 🤘🏻
I had one of the original MT15s, since traded, it have the hum issue as well and sent it to PRS and they took care of it. Turns out that the power harness was not correctly routed from the factory. Once I got it back from PRS it was dead quiet. If I had not gotten an Archon I would have kept it.
I know Ima troll and everyone hates me but I hope this channel blows up. Nice playing today too and I agree the MT-15 can’t be beat especially with second hand prices being where they are. I have amps that cost almost 10x the price of the MT but I still have it on my switcher and use it frequently. Red channel can be a little noise when idle but it’s not a deal breaker
I have one of these too, it's killer amp for the size and price. This thing has a ton of gain, I never get the gain over 11 o'clock, which is plenty for my style of playing. Thanks for the video!
Put the treble and the bass all the way up on the lead channel. I know it sounds crazy, but something magical and tough and balanced pops out. I’ve never had an amp where I’ve maxed any tone knob out, but on this one, bass and treble all the way up really is the sweet spot. By the way, I had a chance to really crank it with a drummer and found that it was pretty much neck and neck volume wise with my Evh 5150 stealth 50watt.
Thank you very much. Since I'm having a slow pressure washing season, I figured I might as well concentrate more on the channel. I'm really enjoying doing more videos for you guys
It was between this and the 5150 iconic head for me, and I did eventually end up going with the latter for the features and higher wattage if I were to ever gig it. That being said, they both sound amazing. Btw holy shiet you can shred. That was super cool 🤘
I had one a couple years ago and it had that annoying hum, and I ended up returning it. I ended up getting an Archon 50 and that sounded great without the hum.
There are some videos on RUclips you can search however it is very dangerous dealing with the amount of voltage that can remain. The problem is there is a main harness that crosses the PCB
U are a great player Jarrod I don't know why u are not on tour , or selling lots of music,,the MT15 has been on my wish list for some time i should try and get one before price goes up guitars are like 300.00 more on all kinds of guitars and Fender and Yamaha guitars are going up in August and I thought they just went up 😂 any way great video as always 🎶🎸🍻👍
I sold mine. The annoying effects loop hum issue even when repaired by prs, the overall hum issues etc. I bought a badlander instead, which you sold haha, just was a better investment for me with my jp2c
I think that fat headroom in the clean is from those big 6L6 tubes...anything else would just bang into natural compression. I like it. It just came across my feed because I subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for commenting and subscribing.. I honestly think the 6L6 power section is the key to why this amplifier is so good even though it's only 15 W. I hope more companies do this with their lunch box apps. for the most part, those EL84 tubes are pretty bad
Dude I would keep it. Not only are the gain tones just grimey but the clean channel is a pristine pedal platform and all for a very reasonable price. I have one if that isn’t obvious already 😁
Should have started the gain channel with no boost, then turn it on for a real A B of what PRS sells you out of the box. Also play with a EQ in the loop and hear the difference.
Hey Jarrod, I was doing some research on the Julia pedal as it just sounds amazing. I noticed there is a Julia Chorus/Vibrato pedal and there seems to be different versions with different graphics on the pedal. Are they the same pedal that you are using? Love the way it sounds
Thanks for commenting. I'm not sure how many different variations there are of this pedal but this one does chorus and vibrato. It has 3 knobs on the top, rate, depth and lag. And it has a third knob with the letters D C V under it. I hope this helps
How do u like the MT15 over the EVH Stealth LBX ? Had the stealth LBX for a while and thought it sounded damn good. The volume taper is insane on the MT15.
Jarod making a wet dry wet rig need two amps for the wet which would you chose Paul read smith 15 or two iconics 80 watt ..oh got me a majesty I was waiting for my Schecter Sustainic but I couldn’t wait any longer so I paid another 3k for a music man majesty my body is a lot like your but mine is more of a shield red and black while your is a blend your looks way cooler but that’s what the had to offer have you seen it ?
Was curious what drive pedals everyone using besides a Tube Screamer? I find it's a bit trebly and looking something to tame it, but yes an EQ pedal would help.
If you were using a Tube screamer with this MT15, where would you set the gain and volume settings? Thank you for making these videos. This is one of my favorite guitar channels.
Thank you. I'm glad you like the channel. On a tube screamer, I'd set the gain at zero, volume cranked and tone to taste ( try somewhere between noon & cranked)
geez for 750.$ new that sounds very sick I’m looking to make me a wet dry wet rig to sound in stereo that prs is sounding like it could sound great wet I’ll use my stealth for dry I was looking at the EVH 50 watt for 1k used 900 I think you have a shoot out between those two EVH and prs I got to look through your videos again running your views up remember it’s not always the equipment but the player in front of the equipment
Keep it. I'm a huge MT15 fanboy. Even though my 50 watt Stealth is my main, I still play through my MT15 all the time. It's such a good little amp.
Had mine for over 2 years now, just wish the volume didn’t go so loud so fast, love your channel!
This is exactly why I didn't keep mine when I bought it new, I sent it back. Great amp but 0-100 too fast on the Volume.
Put a passive volume control in the loop. It will make the taper of the master volume alot more gradual and linear.
@@WholeLottaBulldog I didn't want to do that in case it messed with my Delay & Effects in the loop.
@johnnyromero3336 if you put it last before the return it makes no difference to other effects

The thing I most learned here, is that being a great guitarist makes a huge difference in tone on any amp.

@0311 the fix you describe is super interesing. Do you happen to have a picture or some description of the process?
I never would've given the PRS MT10 a second thought, until you showed us how awesome it sounds. Great reason to keep it too! Love this video series!!

For me, at that price it’s a keeper, I’m surprise they didn’t go up in price since Covid like every other amps brand in the market!

I love my MT15 with 5881’s. I will keep it 4 Life!

Thank you so much for the kind words, very much appreciated
I been having my sents it came out love it too 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Keep it mate ! It’s one of those Amps that are the best in its size ! I thought the same but can’t do it !
Love the sound of those pinch harmonics ! Very tight.
Love my MT15....never bought an overdrive yet...i was leaning towards a Boss sd1..not sure which one to buy
I sold mine. The annoying effects loop hum issue even when repaired by prs, the overall hum issues etc. I bought a badlander instead, which you sold haha, just was a better investment for me with my jp2c

That Dream Theater riff sounded spot on
Keep it. The only other amp in its class is the Engl Fireball 25, but the PRS is a way better deal.
Should have started the gain channel with no boost, then turn it on for a real A B of what PRS sells you out of the box. Also play with a EQ in the loop and hear the difference.
id keep it because it can sound as good as an amp well above its price range. I would mod it to 50w.

@@TONEWARSgearshow It really did help. Thanks TON Jarrod 😀
Available PRS MT15 profiles? Please include pedal dial photo.
How do u like the MT15 over the EVH Stealth LBX ? Had the stealth LBX for a while and thought it sounded damn good. The volume taper is insane on the MT15.
I think the MT15 is a little Fuller sounding
What are your settings for the gain channel?
And what effects are you running did the lead tone?
Delay and reverb ?
I'll answer your questions in Monday's Riffs and Responses video

Thank.you!!
Was curious what drive pedals everyone using besides a Tube Screamer? I find it's a bit trebly and looking something to tame it, but yes an EQ pedal would help.
The ODD BOX by Warm Audio is amazing
Tube Screamers specifically smooth out the highs. I also use SD-1, Dirty Tree, Harlow, Prince Of Tone, Rat, and Beano Boost.
If you were using a Tube screamer with this MT15, where would you set the gain and volume settings? Thank you for making these videos. This is one of my favorite guitar channels.
Thank you. I'm glad you like the channel. On a tube screamer, I'd set the gain at zero, volume cranked and tone to taste ( try somewhere between noon & cranked)
is it really noisy ? in standby my friends has a lot of hissing and hum .
im in the edge of Engl Fireball 25 and PRS MT15 but the price and what i get is what stopping me and rethink more abit.
Is this the 6L6 version or the 5881 version of the head? Just curious.
6l6
Keep it bro.
Great video Jarrod ! What’s your number one amp in your collection ?
Thank you. Its a 5 way tie
JP-2C, Stealth, Revv Generator MKIII, Savage MKII, Mezzabarba Trinity
I figured the JP would be up there
Awesome riffage! Question: how loud is this amp compared to the EVH stealth lbx?
I haven't shot them out yet regarding the volume anyways. I'm going to assume that the MT15 is louder
What chorus pedal do you like to use?
I love the Dreamscape and the Julia
Keep it until the MT100 arrives…then sell it as it’s redundant at that point.
geez for 750.$ new that sounds very sick I’m looking to make me a wet dry wet rig to sound in stereo that prs is sounding like it could sound great wet I’ll use my stealth for dry I was looking at the EVH 50 watt for 1k used 900 I think you have a shoot out between those two EVH and prs I got to look through your videos again running your views up remember it’s not always the equipment but the player in front of the equipment
for that price ? keep it
30 seconds in and it's a keep. What a little chainsaw! Super little amp that can do more than it should, makes me feel stupid buying a big ass ENGL.
Awesome episode! Is this loud enough to gig? Thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you. Yes it's definitely loud enough for a gig
This amp is making 40w, it has 2 6L6's.
Jarrod, i know youre kidding. Until you have an MT100, this boi is going nowhere 😂
Agreed!
The ENGL Fireball 25 is better than the MT15.
I have no need for a lunchbox tube amp. I have a Boss Katana, which is better. 😁
More UNIVIBE !
It doesn't sound like it is well-voiced for the kind of music you play. The low-end sounds really weak.
normally I'd say keep it but you literally have every amp that blows it out of the water so bye bye
Sell it to me
