The Saiyan Arc features one of Goku’s most difficult challenges in the entirity of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon - fighting Vegeta. The Super Elite Saiyan Prince had so much raw potential that even his lack of belief in training and hard work wasn’t enough to give Goku a chance at closing the gap between them. However, a Super Saiyan Goku would make for an entirely different fight and an entirely different story. Today I ask, What If Goku went Super Saiyan in the Saiyan Arc?

@@jessep1257 Not really a correction, the Kienzan is a fantastic ability in reality. Even Vegeta acknowledged this when he told Nappa to dodge it. Despite vastly overpowering Krillins Powerlevel it was able to cut him like a hot knife through butter. We have seen other energy blasts shirked off like they were nothing when there is a difference in Powerlevels of that magnitude.
I love the idea of King Kai thinking "Great, he just learned my technique now to see him use it, aaaaaaannnnddd it's useless now"

This may sound strange, but my biggest takeaway from this is that I want to see a version of DBZ where Nappa doesn't die. Maybe even Raditz, too. I think it'd be interesting to have a few more Saiyans around on Earth. Would they eventually attain Super Saiyan? I'd imagine so, given how training progression works in the series. If we can go from Vegita trying to blow up Earth to Vegita marrying Bulma, I don't see any good reason we can't go from Nappa and Raditz wasting half the Z Fighters to Nappa and Raditz being a part of the Z Fighters. It's not even UNUSUAL. Piccolo, Tien, AND Yamcha were all originally villains themselves. Two-thirds of Goku's friends are people who tried to kill him or conquer the planet at one point.

I like the idea of Vegeta training with Goku in the journey to Namek, specifically with Vegeta having a respect for Goku being a super saiyan and having a much bigger enemy to focus on
The best aspect of Freeza Cell got was extreme durability. Freeza in canon has a planet blow up on him after being cut in half and blasted and lives. That's why Cell is so hard to kill. In a timeline where Freeza is not a factor in his genetics, Cell would die to the Instant Kamehameha.

@@anthonywilliams3606 Vegeta was injured still and Goku could still beat him if he tried anything it’s not unreasonable that after talking with Goku that he would tell him about Frieza. But you’re right that his pride would make him want to train on his own to achieve the super Saiyan form. The only explanation could be that he wanted his wish on Namek to be about becoming a super Saiyan like Goku.
I almost thought Vegeta and Nappa would've stopped their attack on earth and align themselves with Goku. After all, as far as they are aware, he is the legendary super saiyan that could defeat Frieza and restore the pride of the Saiyans.
Nappa will always be a disappointment in any timeline or multiverse

I think it would be very interesting if there was a version of the story where none of the Super Saiyan transformations existed, this would force the characters to learn new techniques to make up the difference in strenght besides just powering up
The only problem is that it would either be kaio ken spam or zenkai abuse up until power levels don’t matter

Always like coming back to this one, so good. Heres an idea. What if nappa was sent to earth first instead of raditz? I know it would require quite the stretch to not have him just wipe them. But when king piccolo was loose, he was leagues ahead (they didn't know how strong goku was) and they found a way.

You made him str8 up fly towards the lab pretty much as soon as he arrived, no absorbing humans = definitely weaker even in perfect form.
And he doesn’t have frieza or colds cells

Yeah ikr lol. If this is how saiyan blue was discovered then it would be better lol because Goku would then discover that the previous form is the Super Saiayn God form rather the Blue form is the true Super Saiyan God form and the previous one is just Saiyan God.
This later makes prophecy fulfilled and we'd probably see Goku and Vegeta master the Saiyan God form first and then Blue since they'd treat it like their natural progression of the saiyan forms
They should have kept Super Saiyan God up until the Future Trunks arc when Black told Goku what he did to him & his family in his alternate timeline.

Idk I don’t think pride could stop him from seeing that the super saiyan saved his life despite killing his own son, there is something very gritty and brutal about that. I think he would respect the mindset and character, seeing that Goku isn’t soft and worthy of his respect and partnership
This is absolutely fantastic and really fun to watch and listen. All the story points make sense and feel true to the story and the characters.
A few things 1. Amazing job overall, loved it from start to finish 2. How would Goku and Vegeta get back to earth if they never went to Yardrat for spirit control training? 3. Moro would definitely be different if neither of them underwent said training as we all know the ending to that
Namek wasn’t destroyed in this what if so their ship is fine and they got back safely
@@dw661 my fault for not being specific, I meant back to earth to fight Frieza in time, without Whis’ help, as it would’ve taken at least 20 minutes, unless Gohan is somehow able to hold him off for that long, which I don’t think Frieza would have the patience for

I'm loving most of your Full Story What If, they're well narrated, thought of, edited, and in general interesting. My fav one is the one where Goku becomes the new god of destruction. Tho Goku being meticulous, logical & in general almost a 180 of the cannon personality is concerning, i love that video because of the ending where Champa & Beerus are reunited. Can't wait for more of your videos ^^
Your vids also got me thinking what if one of the Z Fighters has knowledge of the future events, as if they're reliving a second life. Would they intensify their training, would they stop events from happening, or would it actually backfire, they become complacent & cause even more problems. Can u tell e what u think?

Something worth considering, it's not impossible that Goku would've killed Vegeta this time. Originally he let Vegeta live because he wanted the opportunity to fight Vegeta again. Vegeta being so much stronger gave Goku a new goalpost. But if Goku went SSJ and completely outclassed him on earth, he no longer has that motivation.
Eh, I don't know. Goku would probably see Vegeta's potential and tell him to come back after he trains
An underrated fact is that vegeta went from hardly training to training harder than anyone in the series off pride alone

@@sergiotuberquia8150 they were both mutants, and if his supposed 2nd form (or final form) was as strong as Mecha freeza, I'm sure he could achieve golden too lol
The only issue is that King Cold never showed any final form or 3rd form to begin with. It’s entirely possible that the form we saw was his version of the Final Form. If he had anything beyond the form we saw then he definitely would’ve used it against Trunks.
