The version with the tree in the center really speaks to me. I know the rules, but this works really well with the branches arching over the whole frame and the tree in the middle. I really love it!
I prefer the tree off to the left, more mist around and I am not bothered about the small tree in the background. As usual though Simon I love them all.
The fern is the star of the show for me. I prefer the first image of the last tree. As always, a nice video. I can well imagine that you would have had a more relaxing weekend not having to worry too much about needing to create content for you tube.
Hey Simon, Nailed it. Man alive - that wide Pano of the tree is a belter. Get it printed and in a shop for sale! Hope you enjoy bonnie Scotland. I might be back for October... Maybe
Interesting that the fern leaf that had grabbed my attention as you came closer to the bunch in the second image, was the same one that struck you. It wasn't because I'd noticed it being lighter, it just spoke out through the video! That I find quite amazing. . . . . The second of the tree images I enjoyed more both tonally and compositionally. Thanks so much for sharing those little snippets of what sounds like a fabulous weekend.
Greetings, Simon. Of those last two images, I prefer the first. The second one is nice also, but I'm annoyed by that small tree being partially blocked by the big one. The fern image is superb.
Oh goodness Simon, the tree in the center is breathtaking. The mist just makes the shot so perfect. Can’t wait to see the Scotland videos. Best of luck there.
what a fantastic idea (at 13:10) - I'm definitely making one of those. I really miss having a 65x24 AR on my Fujifilm X-H2. when i had my medium format Fujis they had that crop built in. there are more than enough megapixels on the X-H2 to incorporate it. your fern image reminded me of a much more inferior one i made of some ferns in my garden last summer. I'll have to dig it out 🙂 re the trees - it's the pano image that gets my vote
Hi Simon I prefer the second image as I felt it was more balanced. It was nice to hear the trill of a Wood Warbler in the first sequence, I've not heard one for a couple of years
As always, you managed to create very elegant compositions and beautiful presentation of the scenes. Ad for the tree, both version are very beautiful, but I prefer the centered one as I like seeing each side of the tree and the cool light is actually quite pleasing.
Love all of them. I did notice (as my eyes were drawn straight to it) in the first image at the bottom what looks like a square (as if cloned badly!) is it my eyes? I really can't imagine you wouldn't have spotted it., so I'm assuming it is me or my iMac screen. Looking forward to the Scottish video. Take Care Simon.
Beautiful images as always Simon. Thank you for taking the time and effort to bring us another inspiring video. I've sadly not been able to get out and shoot this week but watching your video took me out there. Thank you!
Love your channel Simon, mostly because of the way you capture beautiful, intimate landscapes and macros. I think all these images are superb but as far as the two tree images go, I prefer the first one. I have a personal preference for using a Daylight White Balance with images that feature a lot of green shades, especially when the conditions are overcast/shade and especially when they include mist/fog.
Loved the fern, Simon. Very different to what we have here in southern Oz. Noticed it has two little fronds at the foot of the whole frond which some others here don‘t have. I liked all the tree images, but found a slight preference to the tree on the left. I felt there was just enough separation from that little tree on the right. The mist and a little more light got to me in that photo!
Hello Simon All your images looks great as always. Can´t not realy decide which is the best one, but I think the last one is my favorite :-). Have a nice time. Grt Ernesto
I preferred the first image of the two, however the fern image was the star of the show!
For me. The 2nd tree. Always a privilege to watch your videos.
Thanks for your comment, Ian
I think the fern, love the bird’s eye view, and the lighting is perfect. This is the one I want let my imagination create stories around.
No! I refuse to decide, all four images are wonderful in their own right. Excellent. Come on Scotland.
I do feel that I dropped the ball a little bit on that first shot. Thanks for watching Alwyn.
both tree shots are lovely but I prefer the composition on the first one. Also the ferns are gorgeous.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video.
I love the photo with the ferns and the last two photo's. Beautyful old trees.
Number 2 is my favorite. I like green and fern. With your editing it looks great.
The fern image gets my vote Simon.
Pano, 4th image with the tree in the middle is my favorited.
Its that luck that occurs that keeps you coming back…atleast one of the many reasons. ~Seeking Beauty. Beautiful work as always Simon!
As they say, all good things come to those who wait.
That fern shot is amazing!
I like all the photos Simon-choosing one is difficult-❤.
The version with the tree in the center really speaks to me. I know the rules, but this works really well with the branches arching over the whole frame and the tree in the middle. I really love it!
There’s always the rule of symmetry to fall back on.
All shots are wonderful, but I do like the 4th pano shot. It's really extraordinary.
I do feel very lucky to have been there that morning.
Great images as always. I love the first of the tree images especially.
Yes, I think that first image of the tree had it by a cat’s whisker.
I favored the third one.
I preferred the second one the best
I like both of the pictures. Well done!
Wonderful captures! I prefer the last photo. I love the colors!!!
Thanks Valdir
Beautiful photos as always!
Both images, but I agree with you, the first one, due to seperation
Yes, that little bit of separation does seem to help.
I prefer the tree off to the left, more mist around and I am not bothered about the small tree in the background. As usual though Simon I love them all.
Thank you once again, Jane. I had some beautiful conditions on that trip.
Great video loved the singing Wood Warbler in the first sequence.
Well spotted indeed John. I mentioned hearing one to David earlier that morning but completely zoned out during filming.
The fern is the star of the show for me. I prefer the first image of the last tree. As always, a nice video. I can well imagine that you would have had a more relaxing weekend not having to worry too much about needing to create content for you tube.
It was certainly easier not having to make a video at the same time.
I have a definite preference for the last tree shot (with the tree on the left). Very nice.
Thank you so much for watching the video
Great video and lovely images Simon 👍
All images are stunning!!! Your close-ups are phenomenal!
Thank you so much Walter.
Great images, Simon, the last image really pops. Thanks. KB
Thanks, Ken
Wow, what great photos! Probably prefer the first most but the second is awesome and peaceful as well. Cheers!
I certainly feel very blessed to have been there on that morning.
Although both pictures are very nice, I liked the first one because it had a better balance. 😊
I agree by a Cats whisker.
My vote goes to the tree that is off center. Lovely photos, all though.
Thank you, Nancy

Cheers Ewan. I was made up with that shot. It just so happens I am going to get it printed.
@@SimonBoothPhotography - and so you should. A keeper for sure. We should catch up some time soon huh. Been too long

Well, Denise, you clearly have a good eye for a composition.
Greetings, Simon. Of those last two images, I prefer the first. The second one is nice also, but I'm annoyed by that small tree being partially blocked by the big one. The fern image is superb.
Same here, John
The 1st one is my favourite, great shot
Oh goodness Simon, the tree in the center is breathtaking. The mist just makes the shot so perfect. Can’t wait to see the Scotland videos. Best of luck there.
Hi Carla
The Scotland trip didn’t shine the same amount of good fortune. Those images are fairly infrequent in my outings.
Beautiful green images. I struggle with green for some reason!! I particularly love the 2 end images. The crop on them is perfect

I do wonder whether a 3-D printer Wood would do a better job, but I just don’t know anybody with one to be able to try it.
Hi Simon I prefer the second image as I felt it was more balanced. It was nice to hear the trill of a Wood Warbler in the first sequence, I've not heard one for a couple of years
Bizarrely I missed it when I was filming. I’d heard one earlier in the day.
All lovely images prefer the tree in the middle of the 2 taken ( did you forget the name of the fern ) 😍
Yes, I forgot to add it in 😆
Beautiful photos always. Simon,
Thank,
All great pics, but I especially like the moody tree shots. Thanks for taking us along. 🙏🏻
You’re very welcome thank you for watching
Love that fern composition. 👍👍
Adore that final image Simon
Cheers Jamie. As you can tell by the thumbnail title. I was made up by those last two images.
Wonderful set of images today Simon!!
Thank you so much much Al
As always, you managed to create very elegant compositions and beautiful presentation of the scenes. Ad for the tree, both version are very beautiful, but I prefer the centered one as I like seeing each side of the tree and the cool light is actually quite pleasing.
The centred one is my preferred option too

Hi Jill,
Ive just reviewed the film and I think I know what you are seeing but I can confirm I haven’t cloned this image.
Beautiful images as always Simon. Thank you for taking the time and effort to bring us another inspiring video.
I've sadly not been able to get out and shoot this week but watching your video took me out there. Thank you!
I’m glad to have been of service Steve thank you for watching

I think I like both versions of the tree looking back on it now. In terms of the fern, I have to confess I forgot to look it up.
Hello Simon
All your images looks great as always. Can´t not realy decide which is the best one, but I think the last one is my favorite :-). Have a nice time.
Grt Ernesto
Thank you so much as always. I think I have a preference for the Tree which is in the centre of the frame but only by a margin.
The pano framing aid is a great idea. What aspect ratio is it? I am already searching for cardboard, ruler, exacto knife and gaffer’s tape.
Its probably a 2:1, but there was no science involved 😊
I liked the second tree, but I am biased toward warmer tones. However the fern shot is stunning.
Thank you, JK
I think the second shot (ferns) looks better if rotated anti clockwise 90 degrees so it is a portrait format image.
These things are always going to be a matter of personal choice.
Some lovely shots, have you considered trying a Fujifilm camera that has built in aspect ratios?
I have Dennis, I’m just not in a financial position to change systems.
@@SimonBoothPhotography I am in the same boat as you and it is leaking! 🙂
Your thumbnail photo looks like you have tattooed arms 😊
First one 🙂
