as soon as I hear those words "good morning everybody, welcome to another video" a relaxing sea of warmth washes over me. thank you Simon for just "being" 🙂 I quite enjoy collecting a carrier bag full of forest floor things and then just emptying them out until I see a pleasing pattern. I couldn't manufacture or design a scene, but the randomness of just shaking a bag out can make for some lovely pseudo natural compositions. Cheating? Maybe, but with my health I sometimes can't stay in a location for long so bringing things home and recreating the forest floor on my conservatory floor helps sate my appetite. As long as I clean it all up before my wife gets home I'm golden!!!
Beautiful images Simon! Good to encourage the sense of just getting out there regardless. When we do there will be something to photograph, and to have an excuse to be out in nature is always welcome.
This is so inspiring. As a beginner not knowing what to shoot you can feel very lost. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos without making photography feel so out of reach. Wonderful stuff.
Hey Simon, good to catch up with you again on YT. I’ve enjoyed a bit of a break, but jumping back in the water soon. It was a pleasure watching you do your thing and coming away with some lovely images. I am also impressed with the osmo 3. That pan when you move adds a wonderful touch to your video.
Hello Simon, I think the 3 red berries made that shot very special. And the woodland shots made me stop and take some nice deep breaths of appreciation for you and your talent. Thanks for your efforts.
I think your destructive winds have hit our corner of the earth in SE Australia! I can‘t get out the door to explore! Will have to wait for a few more days for it to subside. Your video was lovely and calming, just wish the wind was the same. Thank you Simon, for sharing your calmness with us. Loved the leaf and tree images.😊
I love those trees at the end. So much character. I agree with @duringthemeanwhilst that your videos just give off those calm feelings. Those leaves and berries were beautiful too. You could use the for Christmas cards! 😊 Thanks Simon.
Third image in at the end- path to the left of the trees is my favorite. I keep saying this, but I don't know how you consistently pull a rabbit out of a hat. Cheers!
@@robertnystrom289 I often wonder that two but I just practice what I keep preaching. To slow down a look. Knowing this keeps me heading out of the door.
Hi Simon if there are midges (flying teeth) around I just can't concentrate. I've even got a Smidge head net but the mesh is so fine it's difficult to see through 😂 I'm looking forward to this Autumn when I'll be visiting a selection different woodland locations. I'll be happy to get images half as good as yours 😊
@@SimonBoothPhotography First, the labour you put into discovery itself, then the consideration of the red moment within the intersecting lines and textures, and, finally, the reconsideration of the composition of the beeches. Also, "these horrible midges!"

Call it being in sync and in touch with the needs of others. To be fair, I do enjoy doing the slightly broader scene and the big vistas when they come along. More of a challenge for me.
Damn midges! Part of the reason I don't venture too far from Edinburgh in the summer - they love me too. Loved every image Simon and I think the three trees work better but that's just a 'everything in odd numbers works' thing. Plenty of inspiration as always. Thanks Simon.
I'm inclined to agree Jill. I'd completely forgotten about the midges in that wood. There a few large waterbodies nearby. I should know better really :)
Simon, there is a product called ViewCatcher that might work for your lcd screen to change the ratio view. It's adjustable to any ratio (although 16x9 isn't a marked ratio, it would be easy to mark on it yourself). Thank you for the video and great images!
Excellent video again. A fellow RUclips photographer Guido van de Water recommends a Flextail device for keeping midges away. The device forms a dome around you which keeps them well away. Unfortunately they are quite expensive.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate your work and how you are talking through your planning. Good. But, please I feel your very dominant white frame is disturbing. Please make them not so wide. Anyway thanks and take care. Göran in Latvia

Yeah. I can relate. Great tone, great vibe, great photos.
That’s a really great idea, but yes, I can imagine the odd bug or three straying into your collection. It could form the basis of a video that.

Awesome composition technique with great images as a result, do you ever stack your images?
Look back at some of my older films Roger you’ll see that I do stack on many occasions particularly with close-ups.
Really awesome photos as usual Simon! And thank you for encouraging us/me to get out and take some photos!
Glad you like them! Cheers.

Walking through the grasses and laying in the foliage like you do, how do you prepare and prevent tick issues?
Ticks aren’t really a problem in my part of the country. We tend to get them in areas where there is lots of bracken north of where I live.
I appreciated this in particular.
Any particular reason David?
