What a great song by a great Canadian band! This sounds as fresh now as it did when it was released in the early 90s. Really love the introspective flavour of the song.....Enid....I could do this and that and such and such.....I could do it all for you...BUT I DON'T WANT TO! Priceless finish!

For those curious what those background lyrics starting at 3:21 say:
I can teach you how to dance, how to sing, how to knit
How to make things that you never, ever made before
Enid, I can teach you how to use a cookie cutter
To make crazy things out of Play-Doh
Little houses, little farms, little accessories for your mom,
For your Barbie set, for your friends and your family
Enid, I can teach you how to snowmobile, cross-country ski, snow-shoe
    But I don't want to

In 1993 my parents walked by a small club in brantford, ontario and there was a sign in the window that said "tonight @ 9 Barenaked Ladies". She thought they were strippers and didn't know they were this band. Now 22 years later she's a barenaked ladies fan and is kicking herself for not going into that club.

Etigress Add another piece of trivia to that1 When BNL were scheduled to play CITY HALL in TORONTO and there was a backlash[I'M TRYING NOT TO LAUGH WHILE I TYPE THIS!!] about their name being offensive what's ironic is there is zero sex in their lyrics !! they're like overgrown kids who are great musicians !! Enid, I can teach you how to use cookie cutters
To make crazy things out of Play-Doh.

In "Wednesday", her roommate is Enid Sinclair. BNL only mentions two love interests by name that I know: "Enid" and "Jane St Clair".

25 years on, this video looks awful. Yet back in the day I saw it just once on a Saturday morning video show and instantly fell in love with Barenaked Ladies. Took me a while to find the album though, because even in '91 a TV show just after kids programmes was a bit wary of the band name and listed them as "B.N. Ladies". Pre-internet, going around record shops looking for an album knowing only an abbreviated version of the band name... well it made it hard work and I got a lot of "never heard of them mate". Once I got that album though, I had it on constant rotation for a year. And it still owns all these years later.

This video defines being Canadian. We don't care what anyone thinks of us, so we just let loose. That's why we're funny and chill. We have no pressure to to impress anybody.
