I always think this fight is skewed by a desire to not kill. Thor never cuts loose and unleashes his power. Just brawls. I do want to read this one though, even if Hulk shouldnt be able to be drowned. This is payback for Hulk suffocating Thor.

Early comic has hulk being knocked into space by an enigma force boosted spiderman.
While he's up there he wonders if he's gonna suffocate, freeze to death or turn back into banner and explode from the vacuum...b4 spider brings him back down
He's been knocked out by gas numerous times, so I imagine he can run out of air too.
It's probably just this version of Hulk. All of the main 616 Hulks have adapted to function without any form of air or air pressure. Earlier on, which is to say many years ago now, Hulk adapted to breathe underwater. The adaptations for functioning with zero oxygen came much later. Seems this version of Hulk, gimped as it is, must not have those adaptations.
It’s a plot induced stupidly written scenario for this version of Hulk so he can be rationally beaten under the circumstances given… Thor was too weakened/damaged to try anything else and Hulk was still ready for more, they wrote themselves into a corner so they had to take out this Hulk by taking him to ANOTHER corner. In reality 616 Hulk has been adapted to this kind of crap to the point he doesn’t need to be angry to do it anymore.

I don't think that will work. I think in a sense Hulk is like Doomsday. He will adapt as needed to survive. For God's sake he willingly let himself be captured and dissected to learn about an enemy and when he felt like it reassembled his own body and smashed. The man had his body kept in separated jars like pickled pig's feet and came back from that. This should be no big whoop. I think it will take some molecular level eradication thing to put him down.

@@ihorandroshhuk2345 I'm aware of that. I just happen to like finding the little detail mistakes that pop up. I've seen a few issue's where 616 Hulk has bled red for a panel. Capt. America will be holding his shield, it disappears for a couple of panels, then it's back... There's an old X-Men story that features Nick Fury. His eye patch switched eyes like five times in that issue.

Well, they had to somehow explain how Thor was able to defeat a creature that is the embodiment of the destruction of TOAA, over which death has no power. And the fact that the Hulk can breathe underwater a long time ago, or the fact that the Hulk could just stand up and let the hammer pierce his chest, as it happened literally in the last fight of these two characters, people will simply forget.

Writers always have Thor and Hulk swapping blows - they know that's what the fans want to see. They never let Thor unleash his lightening, reality warping, god-blast, anti-blast, sending Hulk into the the void or another dimension, etc., etc. Hulk maybe stronger, but Thor is more powerful!

In this case it does mean more powerful. Thor can control and/or rewrite the narrative with rune magic. Outside of physical strength, there is no way Hulk scales to the power (ability) level of Thor! This is why the writers always make their battles just a slug fest. True Hulk fans want it this way! Fans want to know who is physically stronger than who?

And since you know it it's fair to say you are one of this Guys who counts several draws beetween this 2 as Victory for the Hulk and some Victories for Thor as Draws. Which means you are not only bias but also ignorant. Because in Canon, Hulk has only 2 or 3 wins over Thor while Thor has like 10 or 11.

Suffocation is one of the only ways that would kill hulk. You can't regenerate from a lack of necessary oxygen. This also works on wolverine, Deadpool, and most other of Marvel's OP healing factors

This fight's ending was TOTAL BS! Banner wanted to die, so he let Thor kill him. Hulk can't drown and can regenerate from any damage Thor dishes out. Why wont Marvel allow a GUILT-FREE World Breaker fight Thor or Thanos?

punisher max had a good story and the worst art ive ever seen and the last 5 years whoever is in charge of design thinks water colors make it look deep or something it doesnt make it looks like you dropped the comic book in piss.
This is one of those art styles that is definitely hit or miss, especially with the inking. I enjoy it personally but I can see why people wouldn't.

I agree that Thor could put Hulk down should he decide to fight Hulk as a god instead as an Avenger. However, I didn't like this - there are better ways Thor could kill the Hulk - maybe use mjolnir to syphon his gamma radiation until he's an empty husk? But we can do better than asphyxiation

Hulk survives fine in the vacuum of space. Stands atop the Stoneship, all the way from Sakaar to Earth. He doesn't need to breath.
For that matter, since when has he had ANY biological need? He's literally allowed himself to be cut into pieces, stored in jars and then reemerged when he wanted.
Also, he's simply let Mjolnir tear through him, while beating the shit out of Thor.
