Superman is my absolute favorite Superhero ever. But this is how Darksied should always be portrayed. Overwhelming and Casually overpowering
Stalin means man of steel. Therefore, superman is a communist. And just like people praised the Soviet leader during World War 2, people praise that commie in a cape.

@@voidgod-ht8te Really, he should lose even then. Darkseid is the kind of opponent the Justice League should need all hands on deck for. Every active member, maybe even the reserves. Definitely not just the core members, and certainly not Superman alone even if he does go all out.

This is exactly how Darkseid should be portrayed and written. Like a pure force of nature. If this was a solo batman comic, one batlord armor later we would see darkseid beaten down and praising how batman is no mere mortal thanks to bat writers.
He did come off as extremely menacing this time, very refreshing for Darkseid.

@@brandonfitzgerald-eo3tk well this is kingdom come. A world in the future and this superman is stronger than post crisis superman simply coz he has been in the sun for a long time. Except a couple of changes here and there like you mentioned they are incredibly powerful. A mentally weak brainwashed Shazam was faster than superman and keeping up with him in physical strength. Flash of this universe wally west is faster than barry Allen(prime earth) as he is omnipresent throughout the world while casually living his own life at the same time. And this supes is barely affected by kryptonite or magic as he was able to easily endure attacks from shazam's lightning while holding back. Lex said that only Shazam can rival superman there. So yeah they are stronger than the post crisis version at base. Not to mention our superman and Bruce were much younger here

Ehhh i mostly agree. Narrative says he's gotta lose at some point though, and the stronger they make him the more out of place his loses get. I think there's wiggle room on that power set for whatever the story is supposed to be

The dialogue I gave in my previous comment was superman when he canonically beat marvel’s Thor in jla/avengers.

This is how powerful darkseid should be at all times, He should be well beyond Superman and most of the JL. At least DC more recently has been treating him as a New god/abstract instead of a Superman villain, Darkseid was always suppose to be more like a cosmic entity rather than someone like Thanos.
Not true... the history of superman and Darkseid has shown Darkseid being less powerful than doomsday and Superman being in between the 2 with superman being able to push his limits beyond Doomsday
@@juspeace907 That's called inconsistent writing. That being said, Darkseid has been presented as a nigh-insurmountable foe far more often than he's been brought down to Doomsday/Superman's level.
Humanity's ego-centric writing dictates that heroes triumph in the end, but that doesn't mean an entity like Darkseid should be nerfed to make this possible. Plot contrivances to give others an edge up are far preferable to him getting wrecked by mortals in a fair contest.
@@juspeace907 Those are the instances where Darkseid is being misused though, originally Darkseid was a cosmic being far more powerful than Superman. Then DC writers tried turning Darkseid into a mongol copy, until Grant Morrison in his final crisis storyline undid all of that and brought Darkseid back up into his original status as the God of evil for the New god's. That's why now Darkseid isn't getting beaten up by Superman anymore and he now backhands him away with ease, especially now after we learn he's an aspect of the Great darkness.

I think people forget that this version of Superman is younger and therefore weaker than the current infinite frontier version as this comic takes place in the past but overall it's a pretty good showing for darkseid and does show how much stronger superman will become during the dawn of DC era.

The inconsistency of writing is almost boring at this point. At one moment, Superman is crapping on Darkseid, and the next, Darkseid is walking through the entire Justice League with his hands behind his back. Set a standard and stick with it.

I'm reading through the comments to understand how Darkseid was able to beat the League with such ease. It's weird for who doesn't follow the continuity to see that when many times Superman was able to deal with him by himself. DC's continuity is such a mess. Besides, it's interesting to have a villain so powerful that makes even the most powerful heroes tremble, but writing a villain that no one can defeat no matter what is a problem, because when you make the heroes win, it becomes really hard to believe.
Aside from all that, great art in this comic, I sometimes feel DC is caring more about their art than Marvel.

Dan Mora. I stopped buying comics, but check in on what's going on with DC and Marvel occasionally. Saw Mora's art and was amazed. As a Superman fan, any artist who gets Superman right is on my radar. I just might get back into collecting...well, at least the trade for Mora's work on World's Finest.

One shotting the quintessence, fighting an amped empty hand, and killing Tartarus are insane feats. He controlled the multiverse. At the end tho he was used and depowered which sucked

They happen decades apart. One takes place before several Crisises and the other after them. There is bound to be differences.
