is nitropropane a good replacement to nitromethane?
Not the same thing but kinda I haven't done testing yet but will be very soon
What brand of nitrometane do u use?
All nitromethane 100% comes from the same place so it doesn't matter. Different brands of rc fuel matter. I ues sidewinder pro blend 30% nitro 10% oil
Tell me if I'm doing something wrong but I'm mixed up some 30-12 from this and it doesn't all fit in a 1 gallon..had to skemp on 3oz oil
10% oil is 12.8oz 68.80oz methanol 38.4oz nitromethane is the mixture for 30% is the mix unless i fucked up and put it down wrong in that case I'm going to can this and re do the video
I think the mess up is yours video show 1.38.4 oz nitro 74.24 meth 15.36 oil...it does equal 128oz but it doesn't all squeeze into a standard us 1gal jug.idk must be jug then.
@@bevinsracing I think the fuel that you mixed up was actually ABN fuel at 15% oil is for nickel sleeve engines. To much for modern ABC engines

Yes you can use HEET IN THE YELLOW BOTTLE ONLY!! 90% heet 10% klotz Castor or klotz super technplate

On a small scale I calculate 12oz heet yellow bottle 1.2 oz
Of klotzs = 90-10 mixture 🤞

I used that klotz oil in my cr500,, smells amazing!! Never new I could use it to make fuel for my rc car 👍🏻
Awesome and yup! Read the back label buy the mix charts it will say Glow engines aka nitro mix 10% seems perfect
where can i get nitromethane and methanol?
Depending one where you live it can be very difficult or very expensive in Canada 100% nitro is 120$ a gallon so it's not worth it it would be 300$ in chemicals to make 1 gallon here

what can you use as after run oil
Because it will get sticky if it sits to long just like any oil used in rc fuel if you run your engine dry of fuel its fine for about a month or so before that starts to happen you can make you don't even need to go to the hobby shop for after run oil you can use ATF or mix it with 5w30 full synthetic or even air tool oil is fine but if You read the back a bottle and it says not to use as a storage lubricant then go at what they're saying it's there for a reason
What can you use as an anti foaming agent and how much of it would you use
To be honest I haven't had foaming problems with this oil Some people say a few squirts of Armor All can help but it's mostly water based so you actually contaminate your fuel
@@thebug4046 thanks for reply such a great video there must be an alternative to nitromethane i carnt get it in the uk with out a licence ether right pain to get is there nothing you know of or can think to experiment with its only reali a type of liquid oxygen
@@ryanthethumb Search some of my most recent videos you can use a little bit of acetone in the fuel mixture may be only 5% and that will help with tuning but in the most part 0% nydro worth 10% well content works fine with a hot glow plug and tuning if you can get pure methanol
Any way to separate the ingredients after they are mixed?
Not really unless you're going to get into distillation which is extremely dangerous and I'm sure it's probably illegal so in that case I would suggest throwing it out and starting again with a fresh mix or just buying store bought

Here ,I am confused in liquid nitrogen and nitromethen , which one is use to make 20%nitro fule.
You need three ingredients methanol nitromethane and castor oil liquid nitrogen is an inert gas that doesn't have anything to do with making fuel 70% methanol 20% nitromethane 10% castor oil

The drag strips are great sources for nitro and methanol.
Unfortunately not here unless you have a license and government paperwork in order to obtain the raw nitromethane. You never used to have that problem here but until safety Canada jumped in with their stupidity and lack of knowledge they made it very difficult And very expensive

About the same price as a regular gallon of nitro fuel About $35 but because of all this virus nonsense all my hobby shops are shut down in the area so this is just when I run when I don't have normal fuel
How do u get the color
The klotz castor oil is already pink and you can't just buy color the more stuff you have to add like coloring agents the worst your fuel is going to be there's no real point to color

Hey do you know where to buy methanol in canada?
Look in your local area for race tracks or call VP Fuel and see if you can buy it from them that's what I do
You can also buy methyl hydrate at Canadian Tire it's not very pure but it will work if mixed with castor oil the tuning is kind of awful but if that's all you can then you can experiment but just be careful
Now that 30% is 80 bucks a gallon in the states blending your own shit is probably worth it. Especially for 1/8th scale.
Have you heard of the VP 50/50 methanol nitro blend? Wonder if diluting it with VP methanol to 70/30 and adding castor would work?
Yeah it's $67 a gallon here and making your own here is even more expensive than just buying at the hobby shop. I have heard that mixture before it's not available in Canada so I have no experience with it but I'm sure you could probably mix something up as long as you're at 10% oil by volume fluid ounces and can Dilute that mixture to around 30% with a little bit of math and then topped the rest of the methanol you should be fine
I’m seriously going to look into it. I can get 5 gallons of VP methanol for 60 bucks. One gallon of 100% nitro for 90 bucks and whatever the Klotz is seems like it would be worth it. I’ll have to do the exact math but it’s got to be close at least
@@Corkyramano42 nice! Go for it and run klotz super techniplate oil. It's synthetic and castor oil and not as heavy as just castor oil 😉
That's the way I want to do is make my own nitrofill sense it's going up but the only thing is the oil is very expensive the feel is not just the oils
Oftentimes making your own fuel is really not worth it unless you're planning on making a lot and you can get your ingredients really cheap it's $70 a gallon here currently for 30% But because I run mostly small block engines I don't really consume all that much

@@PEDRORUGELES acetone kinda helps im not sure about the other chemical you mentioned. I have never heard of it before for airplanes 80/20 for rc cars 90/10 you can try with those chemicals and see what happens good luck i hope it works!
Klotz states that BeNOL, super techniplate, techniplate, lite techniplate and heliglo can all be used in glow engines. FWIW And super techniplate is the shit.

I will have to crush your expectations here a little bit it's not always cheaper sometimes it can end up costing you over 100$+ in chemicals to make one gallon.. if you live in the USA you can order Bones brew fuel to your door 3 gallons for 95$ and with running 0% nitro it's also not much cheaper then buying your fuel you will also have to adjust the Squish band for higher compression and the tuning is a lot more sensitive and makes less power. Here where I live nitro fuel can be very expensive at 80$ a gallon or sometimes none is available for months at a time. That's the reason why i burn 0% nitro But unless you can get your chemicals really cheap it's not worth it.

@@deandadamo7796 Yeah see once you get the stuff premixed it's kind of hard to really know exactly what ratios you're gonna end up with but it's not gonna be much with the Nitro so you could just follow say the 30% fuel recipe or 20% fuel recipe which I'm sure I made in this video 20/70/10 or 30/60/10
I will definitely! As crazy as it sounds I found an old article in a forum called balsa bench building, it was a very long article on glow fuel, they had a formula for the VP premix. I will watch your recipe again, I have watched a lot of your vids and I am confident I will get it right, I guess it will be a learning experience. Thanks again for your vids I did subscribe !
@@deandadamo7796 Thank you very much and that sounds more or less like an airplane thing that you're reading I will say that airplane fuel has way too much oil in it for RC car use also back in the day the engines then used like 24% oil which has ridiculous which is not really necessary for today's engines unless you have really old stuff I did make a few A few videos recently about explaining the difference between ABC and ABN engines and fuel and oil and things you should know about
Cant buy Methanol in my country.. A 2L Container of nitro fuel is 30 bucks... No dice !!! Electric or Gas for me... Sucks because I like the smaller planes, but no gas engine is reliable below 20cc...

@thebug4046 Ireland... anything that can be used to make bombs is controlled for obvious reasons.. Nitro fuel is stupid expensive so nobody buys it except the older guys who have no choice as all there models are nitro anyways and they don't seem to want to adopt electric..
