The article introduces the topic of salinity level in the Salton Sea in California. More specifically, the author emphasizes the increasing level of salt in this lake. While the reading passage provides several solutions to prevent the increase of salinity, the listening passage challenges them all by arguing that these points are not realistic and practical.
First and foremost, the author states that there is one solution to directly remove salt from the water using desalination facilities that evaporate water into steam by leaving behind dessolved salt. In contrast, the lecturer is against this option because the solid material that is left contains harmful and toxic elements that could be blown into the atmosphere. As a result, humans inhale this air which causes harm to their health.
Secondly, the author suggests the method of diluting salt water in the lake by adding Ocean water that is 20% less salty than the water in the lake. Therefore, the reading passage believes that this approach can reduce the salinity in the lake. However, the lecturer counters this method by asserting that in order to realize this practice, the construction of pipelines is necessary. He goes on to say that the government would not be able to afford expenses of this construction because the nearest Ocean shoreline is 100 km away from the lake, requiring a long distance of pipelines to build.
Thirdly, the reading passage suggests controlling the level of salinity by constracting walls that would manage the salinity level in certain ares, while directing fresh water to another zone. However, the lecturer argues that these constructions are not stable, as the systems of walls could easily be destroyed because of geological activities like earthquakes. Therefore, the lecturer asserts that these walls would not reduce the salinity level in the long run.

You did a great job summarizing the main points of the passages! Keep practicing! Your vocabulary and sentence structure is good. Paragraph 2 (your 1st body paragraph) For the writer you should have a comma, semicolon, or a full stop so I can clearly see the 1st solution and the details supporting it :) Other than that, very good job!
