Like many fairytales produced by the House of Mouse, when 20th Century created Anastasia, they put a happier, albeit still very creepy, spin on an otherwise heartbreaking and horrifying story. And although there was a real Princess Anastasia Romanov, unlike the character in the movie, the actual Princess never got a happily ever after.

It was rumoured one of the sisters was still alive and twitching when they were carried off, and she suffocated to death when they were buried I forget which one though
It was speculated Anistasia Body was never found so there has been some investigation that she survived and attacked when all her family was killed her parents including her siblings so some say that she refused in Paris so protect herself or somehow she changed her identity not to be caught so she wouldn’t get herself killed by the Russian revolution
So it was the Russian Communist them started to evolved on the new Russian revolution of course I never knew this side of the Romanov family but they say that her body disappeared somehow so she may have survived and was never found

@@roses-of-the-romanovs I think it was an episode of today I found out or a similar podcast but it was a while. It’s also an undocumented rumour so, not a fact.
there were so many rumors that Anastasia escaped and was hidden away that, as a kid, I never really believed that she was killed with her family. I always thought that at least one Romanov survived somewhere whether that was Anastasia or not. It's really sad how Rasputin was able to destroy the Romanovs and that it resulted in the deaths of so many, including the innocent children of the Romanov family. Regardless to who died or how I don't think Rasputin's death was bad enough. He deserved far worse than he got for what he did to all of Russia.

The actual story was people believed that Alexi and Anastasia survived because two bodies were missing from the burial site of the Romanov family. They were found in 2007 in a separate site and ran DNA which turned out to be Alexi and Anastasia or her sister Maria. So none of the of romanov children survived.
I remember when I was watching a documentary about Anastasia about the Romanov family documentary about them and their history well there was some said that her body was never found since her parents and her siblings were murdered by the Russian Communist revolution so somehow she might have survived in the real life history of Anastasia some say that she escaped to go to Paris and she change her identity and her name so there has been some investigation back the body of one of the sisters is Anastasia so this is why there was some inspiration about the story to reimagine how did she survived Anastasia that attacked when her family was shot in the ground Don Blutehe reimagine the story to tell the alternate story about the Romanov family what would have happened if Anastasia had survived because her body was missing since the Russian revolution when the Communist came along so it was speculated that one of the women were exposed to be Anastasia but none of them they were the Russian princess who survived that attack so there has been a mystery what happened to her body and how did she survived ? !
She might have survived solo in Paris so her body was never found so it’s a mystery if she still survived since her entire family Were assassinated by Communist and they said that her body was never found and it was a surprise to them to the Communist that took down the Royal family
all of the bodies have been found. none of the Romanovs survived. Alexei and one of his sisters (either Anastasia or Maria) were buried in a separate site that was discovered in 2007. DNA testing confirmed they were the missing Romanovs.
The animated movie is fabricated. Anastasia’s remains were not found for a loooong time. But, it’s still a great musical film and the cast is perfect

Disney actually didn't make this movie. Don Bluth made it AFTER he left Disney. The only reason Disney owns this movie & others he did for 20th Century Fox now is they acquired Fox in 2019.
I think part of the inspiration for this movie was there was a woman who claimed she was Anastasia (though she wasn't the only 1, just the most famous cause she sued the Romanov estate). She went by Anna Anderson at the time. It wasn't till after she died & they did a DNA test on her that they found out she wasn't Anastasia after all. There's a 2 part TV-Movie that came out in 1986 that featured a 12 yr old Christian Bale in his 1st ever role as Alexei called Anastasia: the Mystery of Anna that's about this woman. If you get a chance, go check it out. From what I remember it was really good.
Thank you! I’ve been waiting for someone to acknowledge that, it’s been driving me crazy that people treat it like a Disney movie when it isn’t one. Granted they would own the rights now because they bought Fox but this movie came out more than 20 years before that happened.
There were a many of people who claimed to be Anastasia during the 20th century before they did a DNA test in graves and confirmed that she was dead

It’s a fascinating and interesting video on the heartbreaking and tragic Story of Anastasia what her life was really like when Anastasia and her family lived during imperial Russia 🇷🇺 it’s so sad and devastating how the lives of Anastasia and her beloved family ended so tragically by the soldiers during the Russian revolution at the age of seventeen years old
