    When movie sequels actually picked up where their original stories left off; something we don’t see much of in today’s movie sequels.

    Morita was certainly an underrated actor. While he was a comedian, he captured both a tranquility and intensity of the Miyagi character that makes you forget he was Arnold from Happy Days

      Yeah : I definitely don't blame the actor who played myagi though, my gripe is that the television stations place the original karate kid films : on television disguised as general viewing programming in prime time viewing slots when they're actually suspension thrillers

    Miyagi actually seems to maintain his composure before Kreese utilizes the verbal low-blow, "Beat it slope, or you're next." I always found Miyagi's refusal to train Daniel for the tournament in Part III to be kind of an a-hole move. He even made light of the situation when Danie asked for the small favor being taught to "sweep." Like you said, only when Miyagi is insulted, and has to get physically involved does he finally agree to train him.

    • @Metalman200xdamnit
      @Metalman200xdamnit 8 лет назад +5

      +Tommy DP It was not a d--k move. Miyagi trained Daniel to defend himself and to impart wisdom for Daniel. When the re-match came around,Miyagi felt it was pointless. Remember,he thinks you should only fight if you have to,if you have no other choice. Tournament fighting for Miyagi goes against his beliefs.

      I think I read somewhere where there was a deleted scene or a scene they were gonna shoot but didn't where all of the Cobra Kai students turned in their headbands en masse to Kreese and resigned from his school because of the incident with Johnny in the parking lot or because of the fact that they knew their sensei had told his students to cheat in order to defeat Daniel.

      A competition is different though, usually if someone aggressively confronts you is the enemy and a high majority of the times it's good to do what it takes to defend yourself and stay safe

    Miyagi proved that he could have killed him, but not doing so was a greater victory !

    If Daniel's mother saw John Kreese getting his knuckles bleeding after he put his hands through the windows of 2 cars trying to teach Miyagi a lesson after saving 1 of Kreese's students from being strangled to death as punishment for losing the under 18 karate tournament,she would've been shocked to see a lot of blood but would be glad deep down that Kreese got what he deserved for being a bad karate teacher.

    At 0:37 Mr. Miyagi told Johnny to let the boy go and refused. This led Johnny to break two car windows and both hands that bleed very nicely.

    I love the look of outright fear on Kreese's face when he realizes all Miyagi has to do is deliver a blow to the face and he's a dead man 😂
