@Miles Goodison-Fearon That's true, Kove, Okumoto and Kanan all appeared as villains on Walker, Texas Ranger, but in separate episodes. Norris shot Kove and beat Okumoto in a fight, whereas Kanan was defeated by James Wlcek (Walker's student, Trent Malloy). (The Sean Kanan episode ended with one of the female guests singing the Walker theme song, very much off pitch.) It's also true that Zabka and Macchio did not appear on Walker. (One or both of them may have had bigger fish to fry at the time.) As for T.I.G., in the 1990s, he apparently started cutting down on acting. (Still, while T.I.G. is a black belt, he was never a world champion, unlike 6-time champion Chuck Norris. But he would have been competitive against Walker while the fight lasted.)

Kreese Silver Johnny and Daniel are about evenly matched although i would argue that Daniel has a disadvantage in Strength because by just looking it seems clear that Johnny Silver and Kreese are physically stronger
The 4 have different things going for against them:
For example Kreese and Silvee have a disadvantage from being in their 70s where J&D are only early 50s
Silver has a reach advanatge of around 5-6 Inches over Kreese and Johnny and as much as 8 inches over Daniel
Skill Overall is even with the 4 but
Kreese and Silver have very few defense other than some Blocks and counters
Johnny has good offense but his Defense while better than Silver and Kreese still lacks
Daniel has very good Defense but not much good offense (his offense except for PP is certainly not as good as that of the other 3)
      Experience:
Kreese has the most experiemce followed by Silvee and both have at least around 15-20 years more experience than Daniel and Johnny
Now out of the 4 i think Kreese really gets underestimated compared to Silver for example
He had 2 Fights with Johnny current and 2 wirh Myagi that we know of
While Myagi whooped hil 2 Times you cant really hold that against him as anyone except Sato and current Chozen would not even get a single Hit on myagi
The 2 Fights wirh Johnny in the First one he didnt even intend to hurt him because he wanted to gain his trust to work with him and the fight Was still even even though Johnny foughr agressive and then got him in a chokehold after he let him go Kreese punched him once and then they stopped.
The S3 Fight while Kreese got a cheapshot and Johnny had the upper hand for most of the fight before Kreese cheapshotted him i don't think he would even kill him but just Choke him out (as evidenced by s4 we know he cares for Johnny) his fight against Daniel went in his Favour and he had enough energy to Tackle Daniel after fighting Johnny and almost won Till Daniel used the Pressure Points. Another evidence for his Skill could be that Silver obviously fears Kreese and Acts a bit beta around him (not just because of PTSD) but also because he likely knows that Kreese is stronger).
My Overall fighter Ranking would be
      1. Chozen (current)
      2. Johnny
      3. Kreese
      4. Daniel
      5. Silver

@@manuellim6284 yeah man, I could never do the complex and high kicks in Taekwondo, not even back in high school when I was actively studying it. To me a kick is a strike to the torso lol. And I would mainly do it in sparring so I could get closer and use hands. 🙂
One of these days I want to go back to regularly studying martial arts but probably not TKD. Possibly Wing Chun, Choy Li Fut or Karate. Need something that emphasizes hands a little more. Good that I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where we some really old studios run by Asian-American families. There's a Choy Li Fut kwoon, family owned, that apparently has a long list of tournament trophies, that would probably be a good place to go.
I would go Jeet Kune Do, since Dan Innosanto said that Bruce Lee actually didn't kick much in real life (outside of movies), but need more grounding in traditional first. 🙂

When Silver was teaching the students about making their opponent think what you want them to think, he did it here by planting it in Johnny's head by saying "let's see what you learned" regarding defense from Larusso. He put Johnny in punch-defense mode so bad he got locked in & Silver swung himself into kick position & caved in Johnny's chest. Well done writers!

Johnny was good at defending, as Silver waited for the offense. Once Johnny tried to strike, that is when Silver saw the opening and counter struck. I guess Silver knew when to look when the defense stopped. I agree the writers did do great.

Yeah vietnam was a pointless war and I sure wouldn't have went because it was a money greedy war and the good men that believed they were fighting for freedom just wanted to defend they're country and they still deserved their heroes welcome,I respect all soldiers that fought in Vietnam it's not they're faults the war happened they were just doing they're job,all that protesting and hating should've been for the US government not the troops so it's no wonder Kreese lost his way I can't blame him,no one will ever understand what soldiers go through so it's easier to judge them because they don't have the balls to go serve their country themselves I'm joining the military soon this year and I can fully relate too Kreese in the 60s,a young honourable man wanting to be a hero and serve his country Kreese will defiantly redeem himself in season 5

Any time you block 3-4 techniques in a row, always be ready for the spin out. A few punches followed by a spinning kick is as Korean as kimchi. Terry Silver (and Cobra Kai as an extension) studies a very aggressive Korean style called Tang Soo Do. They do an amazing job of representing the art.
Whoever is choreographing this series is doing such a great job. Even when Silver brought in the new senseis, they each fought exactly as the style they were supposed to be representing. Miyagi-do techniques are pretty much straight out of an old Okinawan fighting manual called The Bubishi.
Wax on- Wax off is basically a technique called Seizing Ox Holding a Flower. "Paint the Fence" is called Monkey Stretches its Arms. The crane technique is common in Okinawa as well. One of the oldest styles (and the one that most closely matches the Miyagi-do origin story) is actually named White Crane Style.

It’s done that way for a reason. You injure the good guy so the bad guy can win without actually being better than the good guy. If they wanted to show silver was just the superior fighter they would have done it, but instead they did it this way… because this is who silver is, preying on weakness. He doesn’t have to be the better fight because he will find or create a weakness and exploit it. He damn near kicked johnnies head off his shoulders right when he walked in the door. Johnny had no shot after that.
And Johnny didn’t blindside him with a head kick. Head kicks are the most dangerous, devastating strikes in fighting. Given the way the authors set up the character in the first episodes, I really thought, up until episode 8 at least, that even if you could tell that he was a bit over the top, in the end he just wanted to win the tournament, just not completely adhereing with Kreese's way of reaching that goal.

I think we’re actually seeing some growth in Kreese this season. Keep in mind that at the end of season 3, Kreese tried to kill Johnny. He started choking him again, just like he did when he was a kid after that karate tournament in ‘84. But now, seeing Terry Silver beat Johnny up like that was like looking in a mirror for him. It wasn’t enough for him to completely reject his “no mercy” philosophy, but it was enough for him to set it aside for the moment. Maybe we’ll see further growth from him in season 5, now that Terry has betrayed him and sent him to jail. One of my favorite theories I’ve seen out there is the idea that he will run into Dutch while he’s in prison, and Dutch will say something to him like, “Look where your teachings got me, man. And from the looks of things, it got you here too.”
