This run proves that a 5:48 is possible. I somehow got this time at the end of a session that was not going well, which is why I was a little visibly frustrated near the beginning. Everything after chamber 09 went perfect however, as my gaming skills went into overdrive to allow me to defeat Ethan (for now).

Watching this as someone who's just "a fan" of Portal, the fact that this... is actually comprehendible to the person playing is absolutely insane.
Glitchless speedruns are easier to follow along with and play.

I think my favorite part of all of these runs is just that due to the OOB, you actually get the cake. because of breaking the game completely, the cake is no longer a lie.
It still doesn't have collision so technically it doesn't exist

I've been speedrunning Portal 1 any% since 2014, never tried super hard and never got higher than top 45 but man, seeing how far this game has come is insane. Amazing run Mr Even 👍

This is honestly way more impressive than memorizing the steps to complete a rubix cube although idk why my mind is comparing the two
@rhamlet5290 You can tho, you can literally just memorize one method and then you can solve it from any position.
@@irishPEDOelfman stop calling it "memorising" a method, it takes away credit from us :( there is far more to solving a rubiks cube than just memorisation
@@SlightSmilebut the end goal is to solve it. And if you know one way that can be solved indefinitely no matter the position of color pallet on the cube then why not memorize that method to get it solved.
@@KingZMustSlay because methods aren't memorised, they're learnt and usually improved upon. Calling it memorising is not doing justice to those who spend time on it.
@@SlightSmile you learn something then you remember it. That’s how memorizing works. If you are taught a method and you learn it then the way to know if you learn the method is by collecting your thought to memorize how it went down. Do you not know the fundamentals of how our schools are ran. You teach and learn then remember with a test to see if you learn the contents.

I don't even know what the heck just had happened, only saw you shooting portals everywhere and reaching the end in less than 6 mins. It took me like 10 hours the first time i completed this awesome game. Wow, man... wow.

i mean the run i was talking about was like a few years ago
I remember when I was 10 I found a 9 -> 19 skip in Portal 2… I think that glass section with the broken glass had a small area where you could shoot your portal through and get to level 19. My brother got extremely pissed that I ruined almost the whoole game. My memory is very cloudy but it was some kind of waterfall place, and doing this sent me to the laser section of the game
if a glitch like this existed i'm pretty sure they would be using it

Wtf is this?
I'm assuming the game has checkpoints to where portals have to go and you keep a portal at the top of the elevator to enter the loading zone while in some areas you need to build up speed instead?

I actually want to speedrun it but I think learning will take so loooong.
You don't have to learn all strats at once. Just start with the simple ones, then gradually get faster times and learn harder strats
The funny thing is I recently beat this game on Twitch and trust me, it's just as broken now as it was then lmao
