Packed with protein, vitamins and minerals tofu is one of the few plant based foods that includes all essential amino acids.
Plus it's over 2000 years old. Tofu is an ancient food and given it's age, that should speak for itself why you should at least give it a try if you haven't already!
And don't stop with just tofu, there's many things you can do with the soy milk we made as well as the pulp left over from pressing the milk - also known as okara.
All of which are delicious and healthy in their own soy way. 😍
This is a live replay of day 1 of the Japanese tofu and soy cooking challenge. 😛
☝This mini cooking challenge is to get you to take action.
If you've never made soy milk, tofu or okara, watch to learn how I make it!
In the next two episodes we'll be making a few dishes with the tofu, soy milk and okara we made today.
Tofu is an excellent way to eat more plant based or more sustainably. Plus it's easily sourced these days. Whatcha waiting for?
😛 Also- Get excited! because in the next week if you participate in the challenge, i'm partering with Laura soybeans to give away a bag of soy beans!

Hello!!! I am new here. I want to start making my own tofu, so here I am, trying to learn from the master :). Thanks for all these delicious recipes. Greetings from Colombia.
Glad to meet people who share the same interest. Hope you can learn a lot from the videos in my channel.
Impressive multi tasking! Thank you so much, I made a batch of soya milk and it is delicious.
Wonderful! Thank you so much :)
If you need to clean stainless, bring some water with some squirts of dish soap and a good shake or few of baking soda to a simmer for 5-15 mins… careful not to let it boil over. During heating, use a heat-safe utensil (like a metal or wooden spoon) or brush to gently scrape whatever is on the pan (scorched soymilk, burnt oil, whatever), it should release easily once the soap + baking soda + heat have had a few mins to work.
Thanks for the tips! Since when have you been doing it? :)
We love making our own soy milk we do it in the instant pot. One time I somehow got a different result while making it which I think was soy curls. It was absolutely delicious and I can’t figure out how to do it again lol have you ever made soy curls?? Watching from Canada!
I am curious what soy curls are you referring to? Did you take a photo of it?
@@alldayieatlikeashark I actually did! I’ll email it to you right away
Hi just found your RUclips today!
Hi! :)
Aloha! I'm new - never made any soy products at home. From Hawaii, living in Nuremberg, Germany now... VERY INTERESTED in making homemade tofu....

The Netherlands. Hello and thank you.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. :)
Do you have a step by step recipe for the tofu with all details? Thank you!
Most of the videos have recipes in the description box which is also the same in my blog. I hope you can read them there.
Very hard to do but I am sure that would be very good taste
Are you going to try it? :)
Hi, I am Sharon, watching fr Malaysia
Hi Sharon! 👋 Thank you so much for watching!
I always make perfect nut and seed milks but for some strange reason, I can’t seem to perfect soy milk ... I was getting frustrated so I stopped making soymilk 😞 I desperately want to learn the right technique ... temperature etc .... thank you 🙏
Hello Chechel! I'm curious to know what is your workflow. Would you be interested to join our cooking club?
Thanks for very detailed information. I’m a little confused because many video cook soy milk after filter okara but in your video ask to cook first then filter okara . What is different between this 2 method? 😅
Good question! The difference is in the order of steps. In our video, we cook the soy milk first and then filter the okara. This can give a slightly different taste and texture. Some people filter the okara first for a smoother soy milk, then cook it for a richer flavor. It's all about personal preference, so go with what you like best! 😊

Hello! :)
Hello all day i eat like a shark
I also love soymilk and drink it!
I am glad that you have seen valuable information (^ ^)
Thank you for a wonderful video! A good day
@@alldayieatlikeashark Yes I will make it. I often make dishes using soy milk, tofu and OKARA (^ ^)
I made soya milk at home. I've heard that it can be preserve up to a week in refrigerator but it got spoiled on the third day ! Help needed, Please anyone can tell how can I preserve it up to a week.
Hi Iaiba! The fresh soy milk can be stored in refrigerator for up to 5 days. If you can't finish all, just re-boil the soy milk after a few days; this will make it store in the refrigerator longer. Hope this helps :)
Hi, i make my own soy milk all the time but too lazy to make my own tofu. Sometimes i do make my own soft tofu. My favorite okara dishes are korean okara stew w/ kimchi & okara donuts.
all day i eat like a shark i use salt+vinegar solution. As for the korean stew i used maangchi’s recipe & omit the pork. Also replaced the anchovy stock w/ kelp stock. Then u can also use the leftover kelp that would be slimy into the okara fritter. Simply blend it w/ okara season w/ chopped shallot/scallions & garlic. Then add a tbs of tempura flour mix well then form into whatever shape u like & pan/deep fry
thank you for sharing this recipe :) this sounds delicious!
