Very well done nice ride and climbing, very unfortunate about the range extender and your camera not good but one of those thing. Been a long hard slog of a day I really love bridge architecture Happy wedding anniversary . Enjoy your evening
Happily I seem to have sorted both extender and camera - I was all but ready to give up making these bl00dy vids at one point on this ride! I’ll remember that you like bridges… cheers Terry!
Hi Yako great to watch looked a tuff ride, I've got a range extender but my one cost £535 😢 but the extender and the bikes battery gives me 460 Watts 😊
Yup, - I hope you’ve seen my DIY range extender vid? Make your own for peanuts, and it works better that the official extender? Free plans for everyone - I hated the idea that people were making boatloads out of this.
Fantastic 2 day tour! Now that it’s done, would you do it again? What would you do differently? Pros and cons? How bout stealth camping? You sure love those hills, don’t you? lol!
well! Denice it is lovely to hear from you! ! it’s been soooo long?… 😉 …No, I had an great time, with hindsight, and infinite time, this would have been a multiple day thing, exploring the side roads and climbs rather than a helter-skelter dash to get home….which maybe we set ourselves when maybe, it’s cool to go our own speed…
Oh you lucky man Gareth, Have been out riding but getting caught every time in heavy rain…what happened to summer in Ayrshire. They always say S*** happens
Great video. Thanks for the comparison. I have a question off topic if you don’t mind. I’ve got a 2019 orbea gain d10, original chain has worn, so bought a German connex brand I think it was and it’s been great. Decided to try the wax route and bought a couple of 11 speed e bike specific chains and they are extremely noisy. So bad I’ve put the half worn connex back on For the life of me I can’t find the specs for my bike so I can buy the same as the original chain. What chain do you recommend as I’ve got the same year bike as you? Thanks mate from Australia.
Any normal road bike 11 speed chain will be fine John. I use KMC - same quality/life as Shimano for less cash. E-bike specific chairs are for mid-motors, where both the motor and rider put force through the chain. With our hub motors, it’s just us, so we don’t need those chains, which usually have thicker links, which is why they’re noisy.
sorry for all your technical issues.. what you did capture for us was utterly beautiful.. thanks for sharing these rides with us!! ~marmot
You are a nice man, Marmot. Thank you. See you later!
An exciting adventure Gareth.
Many thanks John! I just uploaded pt 2 (but it’s not as good, ssshhh).
Cool adventure 🙂
Thanks as ever mate

Wow, fantastic riding and you played the violin at the same time. We should change your name to maestro. What a great adventure thank you.
Maestro is acceptable to me ;-) Thanks Ricardo

Good video yako seamed a hard day at times but you battled on great stuff see you tomorrow cheers jim
It was hard Jim, but a great new experience being in the big mountains. I need to spend more time there, not just hurry back!

Well I did get rained on…a bit! Maybe it’s time for you to move south Ian? Hope you get a dry ride in soon….
I hate it when I rattle my bag apart!😂
Oh no! I thought it was a one-off!
hard work pays off......no views without hillls and mountains
Unless your neighbours give you a lift !-)

Thanks mate. I’ll go the kmc. Pity about the ebike specific chains, hopefully I can give them to a mate
Another enjoyable video even if the start was in a stinking diesel fume filled sh#thole.
It still had it’s charms…
