Another great video and an interesting comparison with or without the electric assist.
Your gadgets show a lot of data information, but I would recommend using a heart rate monitor, just to be in the safe side.
    Well done mate😊

If you're ever over Hawkshead, would be really interested to see how neutral vs level 3 works out on the climb out by Roger Ground up to the summit at Grizedale. I struggled up there on a 36x32 and was passed at some speed by a lady with a child on on the back on a Bosch powered ebike. Have to say I was a bit envious.
    Great video content btw.

Thanks for the review! Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that a comparison of the pulse would be more correct ...

Good comparison. I have also done a comparison with my Bianchi Intenso and my LOOK E-765. Where I ride one of my favorite routes is a road with a continuous 3-4% grade going out. On the Bianchi I would ride out 9 miles and then back, taking one hour and 20 minutes. On the LOOK I ride out 12 miles and back in the same time.

Good vid,Do you find your new 38 tyres are slower than the 28s that came with the bike?

I haven’t felt any different tbh but imagine if you’re into sprinting there would be, just as I’m a bigger rider find these good for me 😊

That was a very good example of the Orbea electric assist, been watching all you videos ,do you think in the future you would go to muscle powed Road bike , just that you seemed to have gained a lot of strength in your legs since you got the Orbea,

I am thinking about getting a normal gravel bike yes James. If I carry on getting fitter could do. I do find the Orbea gain turned off not that heavy to use as a normal bike though so, will see in the future. Thank you for watching 😊

Have you got any Experience with a mid drive and Ive used my pals Vado sl and it climbs like a demon but feels Sluggish with the assist finishes . But it could just be my perception.
Possibly tires . It’s a shame there’s no way to demo one
    Of these to Compare .

X35 Ebikemotion is brilliant without the power on, feels like a normal bike and I think that’s why a lot of road bikes have it. The mid drive have more watts and are more powerful but I’m told as I’ve never used one, just read and asked people in the bike world that you can feel resistance when power is off. Like I say I’ve never used one myself but this is what I’ve been told. My orbea feels just as good as a normal bike when I don’t have the power on 😬

The ones on this video are Schwalbe G-ones 35x700 but I’ve just replaced them with a set of Pirelli Cinturato 35x700 but loved the G-ones just couldn’t get them in stock at size wanted. Doing a review on Pirelli’s next week 👍

Do you find when on level 3 going up hill feels like it stops assist for a second now and again, a similar feeling as changing gear. Feeling its holding back now and again as it gets steeper

Nice video. Try again if you can and get your cadence higher. The motor will have a preferred cadence and remIn seated if you can spinning it up. Ebikes climb better seated and at an optimal cadence. You appear from the videos to be standing and usingmg a tall gear initially and also too tall a gear for the motor to efficiently drive

  • @johnharvey9524
    @johnharvey9524 2 года назад

The weight of your ebike v’s the weight of an ordinary non e bike renders your initial comparison invalid . You are comparing level 3 assist against no assist . I’m glad your upgrade to 105 is satisfactory, thinking of doing the same myself .

Would be interested to see what it would be like On an a typical normal bike. Not an e bike with motor off
2k would get you a light carbon high spec non e bike. Wonder what a lighter bike would be like .

It’s would be interesting hopefully if channel goes Orbea might let me try one out to do a test. But I’ve had loads of bike mostly mountain bikes and the Orbea gain is lightest bikes I’ve had and prob lighter then most under £1000 bikes. But would love to try on a bike that’s same spec but doesn’t have motor & battery 👍

Shouldnt this be entitled "orbea gain ebike assisted vs unassisted"
