Agree with you on the plug-in - I really struggled at times, but now I've got it sussed. Apart from that, still the best money I've ever spent... William
I removed the seat tube and disconnected the rear light at the connection. I can refit it anytime no issues and it has given me no problems with the Radar since. I taped over the hole screw makes to keep the water out.
Good to see balance, by highlighting your negatives. I have a similar spec bike, not Orbea but still uses the x35 system, a handy tip for locating the charging alignment is a spot of tippex (other brands are available) on the port and lead to help lining them up.
Hi I own the Scott Addict ERide Road Bike. The charging socket is fitted into the bottom of the seat tube with a rubber flap, also a removable magnetic cover protects the socket as well. Sometimes it can be a problem plugging in. I will use your tip. At present I have to align the larger pin at the top sight unseen and always aware that I may damage one of the 4 pins.
Hello again, have a late 2018 D40 (purchased 2nd hand 2020), Claris groupset, completely agree with your comment, don’t have Garmin etc. just phone app affixed with handlebar mount. However glad I don’t have integrated lights… far better with the Bontrager flare RT’s, would I buy another… definitely, has aided my rides tremendously… thanks
Currently have a lower end/budget e mtb that I use to get to work around a 15mile commute. Cycle to work scheme is coming around again and tempted by these my route to work is mainly all roads apart from a small section I jump onto the path to avoid a busy roundabout (lots of hgv). The lads on the road bikes always end up coming flying past me when I’m on my mtb so tempted to get one just cut sometime off my commute I don’t have any hills to climb really nothing like you do in the lakes.
It’s a brilliant bike, you can even stick 700x40 tyres on so can get some decent off road tyres on it if you want, I use a 700x35 gravel tyre which gives me the speed and off road if I want too 😊
Hi mate , nice to see you again more great tips, didn't know about switching the back light off ,at my age some of my parts are starting to look a bit tatty 😢
the new bike is different in the back light position and design but the front light bracket is still the same. the x20 motor is awesome already two rides in i am able to go up hills I haven't been this past year.
Hi thank you if you have the x20 you will have a M gain which the lights are in frame which is a better design but the D gains with x35s still have light on seat tube. Was hoping there would do the whole gain range like the M range 😊 I’m saving up for a x20 one looks awesome 😊
@@LakeDistrictcyclist did my first ascent yesterday it was awsome reached the top 17 seconds faster than i ever have at my fittest/lightest great so far.
My front bracket also broke off, also the rear light lens cover fell off mine apparently you have to buy a new seat post as they don’t sell just the lens cover, oh and my saddle has also come apart, sorry to say the quality compared to my specialised e-bike is very poor
@@championkhamis12 hi. I know that there are many variables but how far, using only Eco mode and the frame battery, do you think would be possible to get out of a full charge on a relatively flat route? Thanks.
Nice constructive video. I think that the rear light is a good safety point, i tend to ride with a rear light on all the time on all my bikes. Tha point that would really annoy me is that the lettering pealing off, that should never happen. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Thanks Terry, agree on safety have my garmin radar light on all rides just the fixed Orbea light gets in way on the M gains it’s on frame so is perfect just the Ds unfortunately 😊 have a great day, tomorrow I’m trying something new if plans come off so look out for video 😊

Yes after 3 years still think best money I spent 😊

Really good idea if you haven’t got the room, was hoping the new D gains would of moved them 😊

Brilliant tip Jason I’m going to do that thank you 😊
Yes that’s what I did on mine otherwise so damn awkward especially on an xs with a plastic bottle cage 😊

Hope your well John 😊
Bery useful for my buying decision! Thank You!
No worries done a few videos on the Gain which might help too 😊

Thank you for watching 😊
I agree about the decals. Too easily damaged, as you say should be painted on. Would be good if you could order replacements?
Yes agree I’m worried if it becomes worse 😊

Few years of saving and I will have one 🙏

Yes some cheap parts need improving and I’ve changed saddle due to splitting but forgot to mention that 😊
Agree with all that, still have the claris set hoping to change soon
Thanks mate 😊
You can turn the rear light off when the bike is in use by holding down the right hand computer button for approximately 10sec.
Thank you, my OC computer doesn’t do that so you may have the newer model 😊
Yes, I have the 2023 d30i. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
It’s a great point for people who watch who have same as yours though so thank you 😊

@tonypaddler on a flat route should easy get 80 miles imo on eco

Is the only difference between the D50 and D30 the groupset?
Yes mate
can the front and rear light be removed ?
Yes I know a few how have, some have put aero bars on. Just tape the wires up and put the wires in the tubes 😊
