After listening to this over and over, I think I can sense Yoko Shimomura musical signatures (fast paced drums and such) but is hard for me to be sure is really her, it'll take time until we have an official confirmation
So maybe it wasn't just me hoping n' coping... But yeah, better wait until we have an official confirmation it's really her.
She returned for the Super Mario RPG remake, y'know. I don't see why she wouldn't return here. (Especially since they seem to be caring a bit more about Mario RPGs in general, so this one will probably get better treatment than the games did in the mid to late 2010s)

She’s done every single Mario and Luigi game, and also came back to recompose the Mario RPG music, so I think it’s very likely she’ll be coming back for this game (I really hope so)
@@captainpep3 She was also one of the composers for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, another Mario RPG series. It's not unlikely that she composes the M&L Brothership OST too, at least partially.
It seems very clear to me that it’s her. It sounds pretty similar in style to music in Kingdom Hearts 3, Live A Live, Mario RPG remake, etc.

@@Bolivaroxin the case, I kind of hope it’s not the battle theme, it just doesn’t like one, it sorta has the feel of the Bis boss theme. If it is the battle theme, I don’t think it would compare with the original 4. (Especially dream teams “victory in the dream world”, what a banger)

I’m not sure why people are so worried that this isn’t Yoko Shimomura. It doesn’t totally sound like the previous games in the series, but it reminds me a whole lot of her more recent soundtracks like Mario RPG.
I mean when Mario RPG was announced, she posted that she was involved with it the day of. She hasn’t for this unless they changed the NDA rules. We’ll see
Even if this is her with the way her style has changed can she recapture the charm of the original soundtracks? To me this doesn't sound like the original games, Yoko or not.

I hope the rest of the soundtrack is much better than the trailer. This was really bad, I just don't think it captured that style of M&L the way other games did.

It feels more like modern Nintendo games rather than M&L. M&L had a very unique charm to it's music where it's nice and charming,
while the battle music was upbeat and exciting, some music was calming and others were extremely dramatic. It all had this cartoony feel to it I guess it how I might describe it. It was fast at times but never really orchestral, asides from maybe extremely important moments.
Maybe I'm just being pessimistic about this but this is fast paced orchestral epic world adventure type of music, which I don't think suites the comical nature of M&L. I know people are excited and are going to play it no matter what,, but I think some people are just happy to have the game and don't care if it's an actual Mario & Luigi game or not. Please let me know what you think and if I'm completely wrong.
Unrelated but that front view of Bowser is terrible. I guess I am being a little too pessimistic, huh?

I honestly can see it most as the base battle theme. But I can't wait to see the other fight themes

Anyone else feel like the music doesn't sound very Shimomura-like? To be fair we've only heard two songs, so it could just be a case of there being multiple composers, but still the thought of a Mario&Luigi game without Shimomura's music makes me a bit sad.

I think it's just the more orchestral sound that makes it sound distinct from previous games

@@IDKisReal2401 An orchestral soundtrack really doesn't fit M&L in my opinion. The series is very cartoony and charming, it has very dramatic and orchestral moments but it still fits with the rest of the music. I really want *Plack beach,* not _Exploring the great sea._

What I meant was more so that the sounds used in the music sound more real, instead of being "very midi", as the second track in the trailer showed it doesn't necessarily have to be Exploring the Great sea
Also those two tracks aren't really a good comparison as they do not only sound different due to the orchestral sound of one but also because they are meant for greatly different situations, one of them is a visually contained beach the other is well the great sea
On *paper,* nothing much should’ve been announced this direct, since the new console is getting revealed soon. But it was a *jam!* A new Mario & Luigi game is a *dream* come true! Makes me wonder which *team* is developing it now that alphadream is gone. Since he’s in the trailer, I wonder what *bowsers* role in the *story* is going to be. I think deep *inside* we‘ve been hoping all this *time* for the bros. to *partner* up again *in* a new game and continue this *saga* of games as the *superstars* they are!
On November 7th We'll see just how strong the *Brothership* is between these bros

I really don't think it captures the original games' charm and comedy. It reminds of a a *World Adventure Super Explorer RPG Open World Edition!*
I know people are excited but I think they are blinded by the fact that it's a new M&L game to realize that there will be a lot of changes. Maybe I'm just too worried it won't meet my extremely high expectations that I set after waiting for five years.
